That font is certainly the long C era, but Smoke has a good point - is it on the shank?
The 8 bits that fit in the box all have Craftsman on the Shaft in the same style as the Blue Cap . There were two similar Bits with the box of 8. One is Craftsman and the other is Irwin.

Some 5776 magneto pliers that popped up in a tool lot. No pics in catalogs but I've been told they are listed in 33 catalog.

Hi everyone,

Great stuff being posted! Just wanted to share my recent find of a set of 2 “minty” C-15 handsaws in original package. Picked these up with other tools for a steal at $30. I found a description in my 1944 sears big book. I polished one of the saws but it was rubbing off some of the writing so I stopped. Any recommendations for a shine and to protect the finish? A detail that was hard for me to capture in the picture is that the actual craftsman lettering is blue. The original cardboard is pretty cool too. Thanks and keep sharing all your great Long C tools!! Dan

I seem to have accumulated quite a few 1/2” drive Circle H tools and so I’ve put them together in this carry box. Could this box have come with Circle H tools?IMG_3820.jpegIMG_3821.jpeg

Another picture of the handle pattern pliers IMG_3818.jpeg
Hi Don
Not to sure about your particular box. However, I would definitely give it a thumbs up since long c circle H did come with early heritage logo boxes and flat wrench sets. OTG makes a valid point about metal handle boxes. My wrench set box has the leather handle.

I received this 1/4” BE breaker bar in the mail today and added it to the set that was missing one. Now I just need a 6 point 5/16“ BE socket. IMG_3805.jpegIMG_3823.jpeg

I too have amassed a variety of sockets over the years. They seem to always end up going home with me from the sales and swap meets. Lol

I was able to find some 5/16 8 points in my stash. Let me know if they will work for your set?
Dan.

I would suggest it would be more appropriate. The earlier boxes also seemed to have the full metal tags, rather than the waterslide decals, from what I can tell. MDF used the decals more towards the 50's, IIRC.
