Greetings gentlemen,
I got a lot of old Craftsman wrenches, punches, cold chisels, and some other hand tools I’ve been sorting through lately. I’ve always known they were good quality well built tools-and to be quite honest I’ve been using some of them as my go-to tools in my toolbox-but never researched the older ones until just recently. This forum has been a great resource and want to give a big “thanks” to all who dip in here/there with insights/photos etc.
I’ve got a 3/8 ratchet drive I always thought was unique. Hoping I can confirm it’s rarity. My understanding is it was made for a short time, couple years, in the early 30’s. Long C with the geometric letters and the pointy “A” as well as Vanadium of course, but that’s it. No other letters or patent numbers. Nice textured round handle. It’s not a typical socket motion either. Doesn’t spin freely like modern socket drivers.
Looking forward to your feedback/insights etc.
