I think the N is like mine, big chunky reversing collar.
I think that is a Millers Falls made one, as I believe they were the manufacturer for Sears at that point.I think the N is like mine, big chunky reversing collar.
Umm, this is an absolutely spectacular find! Very rare and not many folks know about it or would even recognize it! You sir most definitely **** in the nicest wayTime to bring this thread back to the top with a really unique find. It’s a 1940 - 1941 lathe bench cabinet with the cool art deco design. Drove 2 hours, one way, to pick this beauty up. Went with intentions of buying the whole kit but they wanted too much for the lathe that is missing key components. Grateful that they at least sold me the cabinet. Cabinet is soaked in oil and has your typical cancer / rust spots on the bottom.
Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving!
Dan

SuperbNice finds guys.
Another little comparison just for the heck of it. I know I haven’t seen these two side by side in the past.
When I posted this early Long C breaker bar a year ago, I compared it to a different Hinsdale. This here is its Hinsdale twin. The two are pretty much identical, other than markings, and a minute difference in length.

I may still have some of these if you need any for your Long C clip.
Go get those bad boysThere is a set of CM tappet DOEs about three blocks from my house for $20 bucks on CL. They're engraved with the PO's name, which is the only reason they're not mine. Seller only posted photos of one side so I'm not sure if they're "period correct". (I don't know Craftsman that well.)

Curious, Outlaw, if these were part of any specific master set that also included Amber socket tools, or if their aesthetic is a coincidence.Yes you are adn Yes it does!
BF = Pre WWII Atkins (Saws but specifically the amber handled hacksaw)
What a beautiful array there!Would love to get one of the BF hacksaws! Here’s my small collection of craftsman hacksaws.
Thanks!What a beautiful array there!
The Socket set with the amber handles is a set. the Hacksaw is in the 42 catalog separably. Could there be a master set in anther catalog?![]()
To my knowledge your saws are original. I’m not aware of a reproduction hack saw with the original wavy logoWould love to get one of the BF hacksaws! Here’s my small collection of craftsman hacksaws. The darker amber handle hacksaw is a MF. Do you guys think the swooping logo is original early 30’s or issued as a commemorative?
Man I have never seen either of those hack saws. Now I’m on a missionHere’s a photo of the hacksaws in the 1933 Sears big book catalogue
Me either. I didn’t know they existedMan I have never seen either of those hack saws. Now I’m on a mission
Thanks for the offer, Don. I’ll probably just turn this set out as is with disclosures.Nice. Those flex spinners are hard to find in good condition. I might be able to help with a 1/4” plug. I just received some D-I ones from BK.
