I've had a bug in my ear about craftsman long C tools since I found out I owned two chests ( well, a chest and a half; someone beheaded the one). Ironically, I had a 1/2" ratchet and breaker bar for years until someone stole my tool box out of my truck.
I just finished cleaning the rust off of this 1/2" drive set.
It's fairly complete, having retained the T handle for the breaker bar ( which has gone missing), the non- reversing ratchet, speeder and two extensions,
I'm quite pleased with it, but I'd be just a little happier if it matched; most of my long c items are BE ( the new set is circle H).
The rest of my collection resides in this 1/2" socket set case,
I'm slowly exchanging my scattershot tool collection with as many long C tools as possible ( wrenches and deep sockets have proven difficult to find). I would dearly love to find a roller for the chests to sit on ( the one they are on now is, I think, a Duplex). It's funny- my grandfather
loved Craftsman tools, and my grandmother bought him some every Christmas for nearly fifty years, but everything was sold after he died ( an act my grandmother regretted later when I became a mechanic). I can't help looking at the growing collection and reflecting on how many swing shifts at the Timken company the old man worked to have tools like this.
