Same here, I use security torx on my license plate, tail lights (aftermarket) & 3rd brake light lens (also aftermarket). My truck is old so replacements for those lenses are expensive & have gotten harder to find. I have Wera drivers for them.

Why do you mount your license plate with torx? lol
Just what came on the truck when I bought it lol. Fronts are a T27 rear are T30 lol. And one of the holes in the back has slightly boogered threads but I don’t have any metric taps or dies at home and don’t know what thread pitch it is so I just screw it down till it’s tight and give it a snug with the ratchet and make sure not to damage the plate lol.

I bought this long ago... used it twice... now it sits waiting for my estate sale.
Haha, similar for me. After I saw the Husky ones at HD, I didn't want to pay their prices so I bought the 1/4" & 3/8" Gearwrench ones. I really thought they would be useful. But for me, I've only used one once & they have been sitting in a drawer unused for years now. I'm still gonna keep mine though.

Got the 1/4" drive version. I think I'm really going to like this one.

I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but I'm thinking those could be useful on the back end of a spinner handle.

Well there's the rain on my parade, lol.

All depends on what you work on. The gimbal part is what made me want to buy them. I just haven't came across any situations where they would have worked better than tools I already have.

I don't work on cars for a living anymore but I still tend to buy tools in mind as if I did. I shoulda known as I have a Snap-on palm ratchet thing that I've had for over 15 yrs & I can't remember ever using it. Hopefully one day they will prove to be useful for me but probably not. Lol

Yup - I have a Craftsman (non-gimble) wheel ratchet old enough that it's MiUSA, and whatever chances I had of using it seem to have been washed away since I got my 1/4" roto ratchets. :(

I just picked this up. Got a deal on it and it looked useful, you know how it is. Has 1/4 in drive on one side, 1/4 in magnetic bit holder on the other side. I don't have any roto ratchets, so maybe I'll get to use this.

Funny - I was just putting a fuel pump in my old car, and the old Craftsman roto came in handy ;)

Got the Milwaukee 2505-22 Install Driver. Needed the offset chuck for some cabinet work. Nice tool for what it is. Its not a M18 Hammerdrill lol. Much more delicate. The complaints about the Forward - Reverse switch are overrated, it works perfectly when selected by thumb.

20230228_190556.jpg
The big problem with the reverse switch isn't that it's hard to reach but rather that it doesn't provide a tactile way of knowing the direction of the drill by feel. Whenever I pick up any other drill or impact driver, I subconsciously put it in the correct direction for what I need to do. With the installation driver I either have to start using it and find that it's spinning the wrong direction, or actively press the button and look to see which way it's set. It's a small point that I stumble over and makes using the tool far less seamless for me. It never vanishes becoming an extension of my hand like most other drills do, I'm forced to always be actively interacting with it.

Still marked USA?

Yeah, the opposite side of the handle is marked USA, but this must be old stock. On the backside of the box, in the lower corner there is some text related to manufacturing along side the Ideal logo. I can take a better look when I get home tonight.

This screwdriver set didn't ship directly from MSC. It showed up about 10 days after the order was placed and was missing the usual MSC label on the packaging.

Bought this for $14 on Amazon. Reading the reviews I was expecting a bit more for some reason. Used it this evening just for the heck of it... holy hell this thing is chunky feeling inside. I'm not sure how to remove the plate to lube it so I'm going to try and just drop some Lucas gun oil in the seam on the back side and hope for the best.

I was excited to try this one out, then the 1/4" nano ratchet (long) that CPtheToolAddict loves. But now I'm hesitant.

Astro 93808 3/8" in a 1/4" body. Made in Tawain.

Proto 5249S is my choice. It’s only 24 tooth but is solid with low back drag. You can put a 1/2 anvil in a classic 3/8ths handle with a repair kit as well.

I have the Koken 27225Z (3/8 in a 1/4 body) and the action is butter smooth. But the overall length of the ratchet is tiny.

That's a pretty comprehensive set for a clamshell kit.
Is it this 247 pc set? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0767PMCD8/?tag=atomicindus08-20
Yep, good eye, that's the one. It covers most of the sockets and wrenches, I've been trying to find a similar set in a case or box that would have the others stuff I usually carry. The Harbor Freight 105 Pc set is close but I think I'll be better off just having one other box as small as possible and finish off with screwdrivers, electrical tools, hammer, pliers, etc.. Anything else looks like it would be a lot of duplication.

New to me……I have tons to go through and a ton more still in NJ. Unfortunately last week my FIL passed away unexpectedly. He may not have been the most organized guy, but he had a lot of tools. Everything I have sorted through so far is USA made and he probably owned most of it for 60+ years. Lots of old tool truck brands and a ton of old USA Craftsmen. I am sure I will have questions on what some tools are as some I have never seen before. Snap-on box is full and I still need to empty it.

Best kind of tools to get are ones that have meaning or are from family. And you, FIL had good taste and judgement in tools. Nice gift to have. Sorry for your loss.

I've been at CAT awhile now and decided to give the MAC guy some business.

I've been wanting to try the RBRT sockets for a long time and picked up a metric set. If I like them, I will buy more. Also picked up the die grinder set on sale at HF prices. I wanted a straight for cut off and another 90* so I don't have to switch attachments.

Also picked up the mini pry bar set, I have a weird obsession with pry bars for some reason. Last but not least, some heavy duty automatic center punches.
