‘Duratech’ slimline wrench set. No-name china brand from Amazon, but seems to be decent quality, the wrench’s look rather than just being pressed from flat steel and the chrome finish is surprisingly good. I was tempted with the Capri set, but this was half the price and goes up to bigger sizes which is useful for hydraulic fittings.

Set of nut drivers off of Amazon. I had a driver stud to attach 1/4" drive sockets which went missing right when I needed it so I ordered this set. Of course the driver magically reappeared under my socket tray yesterday. I figured these will be better since they are magnetic.16848846964984260740525978525947.jpg

The worst part is my haste. I've done tons of copper lines, larger pvc and galvanized.

I think getting older, with the wet face frame digging in my back, made it worse than it seems.

Well I've got no leaks and the rugs are drying out, so all's right.
I also hate plumbing and its repair. I did have a idea when I had to replace our disposal and install a new kitchen faucet. I hate having to lay partially on the floor and on the bottom of the cabinet; it makes my back feel as if I had been beaten with iron rods. While I was looking at the work area I realized that one of the pallets I had was about the same height as the bottom of the cabinet! Brought the pallet into the kitchen and it was within an inch of matching heights. I put one of the comfort pads my wife stands on in the kitchen on top of the pallet and went to work. While the plumbing was still a pain, my back was much more comfortable. Later I cut the pallet in two along the center support so that it would be easier to handle the next time I have to visit plumbing hell.

26 May 2023 Edit: 1) To clarify, I had the comfort pad lying in the cabinet and on the pallet. 2) Added picture of modified pallet.

17 September 2023 Edit: 2) My wife showed me a posting on social media in which someone used a folding ironing board to accomplish the same thing. Might be more available and easier to work with than a pallet (YMMV).

I'm in the same boat. Keep deliberating between these and the Capris. Will probably go with these.

Got my Koken 1/2" semi-deep metric sockets, they'll probably replace my torched Great Neck set that have served me well for 20+ years. (Either I never used my deep metrics by Cummins as much, or they held up much better, I'm not sure. I know I bought them both new at about the same time though, and they have been my primary 1/2" sets until now. 20230523_211241.jpg20230523_220913.jpg20230523_221015.jpg20230523_221154.jpg

Not really a tool but the quality is so good I think they deserve a post. I was very tempted to get the ones with size labels, but in the end I went with the blanks.

1/4" and 3/8" metric Westling socket trays, (the 1/2" ones should be arriving within the next 2 weeks all being well).

Does anyone know of a coin tool that matches the standard US Quarter? I bought the PB swiss version and it has a weird profile that doesn't match.

First set of quality files: IMG20230521165312.jpg
Got the matching set of needle files, really really nice machining on them.

It's the Eklind 11122. I like the tight fit of the torx keys in my fasteners, they're superior to my Pittsburgh gear. The bright finish doesn't rust like black oxide when you get sweat all over them and forget to lube them after. These seem resistant to everything and I can treat them like a chrome wrench with a simple wipedown. Also I think the price is good for made in USA gear.

In theory, I don't neeed any more hex tools, but this is GJ, so I have to know -- how does Eklind compare to Bondhus?

I am truly amazed how well they work in my service cart, pricey but worth it, might need to swap some more over, lol.

Finally found a set in stock I'll check them out for $8
Please take a look at the medium slotted driver, and report back on whether the blade seems thicker than normal. I've checked several sets and this consistently seems to be the case. I'm wondering if that's why they are on clearance. Still a good deal!

I want this to be my socket organization so badly.

But Westlings largest 3/8 tray is 24 posts (8-24mm). The Tekton 3/8 socket set I have is 6-24mm. I don’t know what to do.

Get the 6-22 one.

I put the 23 and 24s next to the tray. Being big sockets, they don't fall over. Perhaps you could also ditch the 20 and 23mm sockets to make enough room to put everything on the tray.

The other solution I keep bouncing off my head is to place another Westling tray next to the one holding 6-22mm and align the 23 and 24mm sockets in order. Then fill the second tray with impacts/hexes/etc.

First tool I bought because of this forum.
Something I'd have passed over a bunch of times without interest and I don't do a whole lot of HF anyhow but I was getting some organizer stuff and had to grab this after seeing a ton of glowing reviews here.
