Top pic is the pile from the cardboard box. A fun mix of stuff. SK, Craftsman, Billings, Upland Forge, Stanley etc.
The rest is a mix of Craftsman sockets, Taiwan and Chinese wrenches and a mix of bits and a driver. There are 2 sets of impacts. One 3/8 SAE Craftsman and metric Grey Pneumatic.

I had that exact Craftsmen box, now I can't remember what I did with it. I use to take it with me to the track with some tools, just in case. Never had to use any of the tools at the track. Nice assistant in the background.

A $20 slide hammer adapter works like wonder when taking out CV axle. But this is also fun if you have a lift.
Thanks and yup...slide hammer is also on my shopping list (currently don't own one) along with CV adapter.....hoping something good goes on sale on Amazon Prime Day next week. It will be a 2nd tool purchase that I hope I don't have to use. I have a QuickJack so I know air hammer can be used but for last resort as I will likely lose the core charge if I air hammer **** out of the axle.

I won a auction on eBay for a bunch of made in USA Craftsman sockets for a penny and $9 shipping. Wanted the 1 1/8” 1/2 drive shallow socket but was surprised to find a 1/4 drive 7/16” 6pt -v- series to replace the 12 pt that was a replacement in my dad’s old set. Plus plus a 1/4 drive 9/16” that I did not have (Dad’s old set stopped at 1/2”). Also had a 3/8 drive 11/16” (my set jumps from 5/8” to 3/4”. Then several sockets I don’t need including a BE 1/2 drive 15/16” 12pt. As well as a few G series 1/2 drives. I’m hoping I can get my $9 back on just the old BE series socket.

Nice looking set. I do have a gripe about the sizes, though, for this and most other sets. I wish they would split off some more sizes like they do the 17/19, both commonly found, so it is useful to have them both on one wrench. The same would also be true if they made an 8/10 and a 12/14. I rarely need 9, 11 and 15, and 13 only if it is a non-Japanese M8 fastener.
I have Fords and Mopars. 13 and 15 are really common.

Went to get a 10' tent since there's a coupon and my old Coleman bit the dust a couple weeks ago, and came back with this for $114 as an open-box (and the tent, too):

I've always wanted one of those but.... For years, I've looked at that type of clamping tool (various brands) but just can't come up with a use case. For me, it seems to be a solution in search of a problem.

Tell me about the VIM ratchet, Do you like it? Do you think its handle is too large? Crisp ratcheting action?

I think it'll come in handy eventually. The handle isn't too large IMO, I think it matches the size of the ratchet pretty well. It is larger than the typical 1/4 ratchet. Crisp ratcheting, there is some play in the anvil. Jersey discount tool has them for $33 shipped at the moment. No use, as it just arrived. First impressions are good. Here's a comparison picture.

Those magnets are very handy...I find myself adding another one to my cart everytime I place an order.

However, I do wish that PB Swiss offered a magnetic pickup that is the same size as that bit driver. I've been considering buying the bit driver, drilling out the the holder, and epoxying a stack of magnets in there.

How is this working for you? Thinking of picking one up.
To be honest, I've only used it once and it worked well for my needs. It isn't the most powerful, but it works good for cars. The one thing I didn't realize about it until I went to get one, was that it uses proprietary hose and accessories, so you can't use just any hose, tips, snow cannons, or wand, etc. However the nozzle is adjustable, it does a pretty cool spiral that helps scrub, and it comes with a snow cannon of its own.
