Does anyone store tools that get used together inside a small box so they stay ready to go? The most recent example I have in my head is trying to find a box to hold my terminal brush, terminal puller and related battery changing tools together so I can just grab them all out of the drawer in one move. Does anyone else do this or am I just going full on OCD about this one?

I don’t because I use the various tools way more in the shop than other locations and I want quick easy access to them. I keep drawers set up for various types of work in the shop and set up a tote bag for use in other locations as needed.

Yes, In some specialty termination kits I will have a duplicate set of X in that kit just to have everything available in one spot.

Yes. I have seperate "kits" for electrical work, upholstery work, etc. I grab the kit box and I have everything I need right there.

Are you working far away from your toolbox? I don't do this for automotive tools. I do keep things like you mentioned together in a drawer so I can grab all of what I need when I open the door. I don't have room to have a bunch of boxes in the drawers. If I need to take a bunch of tools to work on something away from the box I'll grab one of the bags that milwaukee tools come in and throw what I need in there, I have a ton of them that came with milwaukee tools and I don't keep my cordless stuff in those bags. They work good for junkyard runs.

I do keep my construction tools in ridgid boxes by jobs.

I try to keep like with like, plumbing takes up a lot storage, carpentry same thing and so on. I have found, at least for me it's easier to store tools and equipment by discipline, even if it means doubles or triples of some stuff.

I have a cheap HF plastic ammo box with battery, electrical and tire plug patching in the truck.
Probably less than 30 bucks invested.

I've had rental properties, so I set up bags for each task, i.e. plumbing, electrical, standard repairs, etc. Just grab and go.

For in the shop, I kept some of the plastic boxes that drills and saws come in, and use them to group dedicated tools and supplies together for certain tasks. Saves time not having to root through various drawers cabinets for everything.
