Thanks for looking in. You would be amazed at what I have thrown out of that place. I have filled at least 8 large black trashbags with various junk and old materials that I had no use for.
I got the heater problem solved. The new one is installed and I think it is going to work fine. Hopefully no more slicky oily mess on the walls. I just did not have enough fresh air to supply the old heater, plus the "radiant" type don't create the problem the "blue flame" type does.
Once I get completely finished I will post the final product for the GJ. Might add some "mood" lighting in there too.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Best Regards
Herb

Good to go on heating.

This little electric heater keeps me toasty for fall weather. When winter comes I will fire up the new wall heater. I also have a new wall heater in the garage shop.

Best Regards
Herb

I did not want to move the fridge to the garage, but my options were slim. Now the backshop seems spacious. All my tools are on wheels so I pull out the car and set right up for projects!

Best Regards
Herb

Here is a view of the space with the fridge being there. Not too bad.
You got to work with what you got!

Herb: your shop is really looking great, but then again I thought it looked great before.

do you have any projects on your TO DO LIST cause looks like you are ORGANIZED and ready for almost anything?

Looks good Herb but don't put that paint away yet. Now that the fridge is in the garage all the white kinda stands out from your theme. Maybe a couple well placed red accent stripes would help it feel right at home with the other tools.

I wish I had your energy to accomplish all that I need to do. You seem to set the standard for getting things done and moving right away on projects.
Thanks for the comments on my small "600 square feet" of space!! I know your getting yours in great shape from looking at your posts.

Thanks as always!!

That's a great call on the fridge!! I like that and have thought of some type of color on the fridge. Right now I am looking for some cool magnetic decals that might do the trick, but also stripes would be nice!

Thanks for looking in!

Hey Herb, you do realize that you may have to paint that fridge now, don't you? [emoji1]

Nice progress. [emoji106]

Great to have you stop in! I have toyed with carrying the fridge to my local bodyshop for a paint job. That would be one solution. Another would be me painting the doors here at my place and leaving the sides almond color.

I am looking at decals that are magnetic to make a smooth transition and that might work too!!

Great call on the paint! Thanks

Best Regards

Herb,
Is the surface of the fridge smooth or textured? If smooth you could look into some vinyl wrap or striping of your choice or even go to a typical sign making company and they can usually print you a vinyl logo or shape of your choice. With computers and big vinyl cutting machines its pretty easy. Maybe a big chevy Bowtie with Herb's Garage printed in the middle.
The possibilities are endless and no messy painting required.

That's a great idea. The doors are textured, but fairly smooth. I have a great sign shop here in town. I will look into getting something like you describe.

Thanks for the idea!

HS: not sure what all the sizes are for the vinyl toolbox wrap come in, but check out Unruh's thread and you'll see he turned an old freezer into a toolbox and i think the vinyl wrap was pretty reasonable. here's the link and i think the posts about it are in this month or maybe the end of September. or post and ask him if you can't find it.

Good thought there Drives. You just jogged my memory about fridge wraps. There are also multiple companies that specifically sell refrigerator wraps that turn the old white whale into almost anything you can imagine.

Herb, just try searching for refrigerator wrap on Google and you'll see all kinds of ideas.

Thanks for the information on wraps. I looked at a few but they were either too expensive or too X rated for the ones I liked. I may talk my Grandaughter into spending a day painting something of a Snap On or Proto tool logo on the doors. Or maybe a U.S. Army crossed cannons Field Artillery logo in red and yellow.
At any rate "something" will be done!

Thanks for your suggestions!

HS: while I love the idea of a hand painted fridge by your granddaughter I think one of the guys found those wraps at Harbor Freight and said they were reasonable.

I like your thinking with the Army stuff too so if she's got the time and talent and you want to offer her a few sheckles to help out gramps all is good. or maybe she'll work for food but I'd still maybe give her something for her time.

Herb,
You arrived at the best plan of all by getting your granddaughter involved possibly. I like the crossed cannons idea.

Also wanted to say that you have nudged me over the edge in the painting department. After seeing how well your project turned out I took a hard look at how shabby my ceiling and walls are in the house garage. Call me inspired or shamed but I stopped at Menards yesterday after work and bought some gallons to get started. White for the ceiling and more white for the top half of the walls.
Wish me luck.

We were in this area of Northwest Arkansas today and it made me think of you!

The garage building was already sold, but your operation would have filled it nicely. The back has two 12 foot doors. I would hang out there with you and drink free coffee all day.

The other pics are of Sulphur Springs park which reminded me of your health thread. You would like it!

Best Regards
Herb

Thanks for the visit and best wishes on your paint project.
I like painting and the end result. On mine, moving everything and cleaning the individual items took forever! That caused max time consumption. If you followed my thread you saw the terrible condition of the walls and cabinets from the scrum the heater put out on them. Then my fall, landing on my right heel, put me out of whack for a few days.
Then reinventing the preferred layout took a lot of time.

Now that it's almost done, less some tweaking, I am VERY happy with the result.
Thanks again and I know yours will please you as well. Hope to hear how it goes!

Best Regards
Herb

Thanks. We also stopped at this beautiful place. Originally a gas station and cafe. Now occupied by a tiny country store. The lady said she has
always sold her baked goods and garden produce and fresh eggs. She sadly says her health will cause her to close it.

I Drooled over it, but it won't be for sale!

Best Regards
Herb

HS: as much as I'd enjoy sitting around with you all day long drinking ice tea in cold mugs while you drink your marvelous brands of coffee sadly my bride wont ever move from the PNW and truthfully I don't think I would either. have you ever been up here and seen the mountains and blue skies (or cloudy skies for 6 months)?

great pictures and I'd enjoy days like that and hopefully I will more often as I GET ORGANIZED and have my TO DO LIST down to a reasonable count.

I know you didn't post much while you were moving stuff around, cleaning and painting, but your shop looks even better than it did before and honestly I didn't notice the filthy walls as you called them.

cheers

Just found this thread, and spent the last couple of nights going through it. My shop is just a hair smaller than yours (16x30) and what you have done with the space is absolutely amazing. I plan to steal several ideas. Keep up the good work.

I am highly honored that you found my thread and found something in it to interest you! Thank you for your nice comments. Garage Journal is all about meeting new people and sharing ideas and shops, and about learning new things.

I took some time and looked through your thread and wow you have a lot going on in there. Your place is looking really good and I like your wife's craft room.

Thanks again and I hope you visit me often!

Thanks. I think you would like the town where the garage is. It might be similar to your area, as it is in the mountains and is a great small town.

thanks for your visit as always!

Herb, one day I hope to clear the decks and freshen up my garage like you've done. I also hope to win the lottery but that's even less likely (I heard a rumor you have to buy something to win).

Most of all, I hope you and yours have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
