I think it's for a monitor mount set up. We had the Verus Diagnostic Station that had the cart, monitor, connector, leads, etc plus the bottom drawer printer. We had one of the first black Verus DS made and it got copied almost immediately. I've got a Black KRSC46 and I love and hate it. The top mat is a must in my shop but mine has newer top and I can't find a mat yet. I'm think of getting a vinyl for the back and a gutted stainless top for a KRA4107. Got the drawer guards on order and 2 2" drawers plus additional drawer slides. You pull hard on the left it'll jam. I'm not putting up pics til it's done.

New to the forum, but long time lurker. I really hope this thread isn't dead because I would like to thank each and every one of you for all your details and input because I now own the best and last tool cart I will ever own. Little bit about myself, I'm a diesel mechanic for a mass transit company based out of Illinois, been a mechanic for 6 years now, and just started this job a little over a year ago. Enough of me rambling, here's my KRSC43 in Electric Orange.

Hey guys, I'm wondering if the side cab from harbor freight would fit these boxes well? Also, what's the model number from snap on, if someone has that handy. Thanks!

Re: Snap on krsc46 mod thread .

Thank you for welcoming me. I've been following this thread for a while. And I've taken some of your ideas and adapted them to my own. I had no idea this cart to be this much fun to build. I first started off with the standard cart, year later added the side can to the right side, and after another year I added another mounting bracket then moved the side cab to the left side, awaiting my next addition.... 9fbb9c55523633651e99058473819518.jpg1de68935a25e6b766b397f4f628cff7e.jpg16f573dc34677a2f108855e345fdfe93.jpg0fd855e26449f67e32b92ddf9fb86f39.jpga97908c0e11b93fb72346ab3dbf4c540.jpg

Re: Snap on krsc46 mod thread .

I'll open them up next week. A few things you'll notice is the magnetic glove holder and towel rack. The stinger stream light I had to over drill the mount hole to 1/4 in. So I could get the 1/4 20 bolt through it. I also remounted the hand rail (upside down, didn't like spray bottles going to the outside) to the end cab with nut setts. Drilling the new holes kinda made me nervous but it's done now and I like it. I also used wire loom to hide my charging cords. I chose to move the drawers to the left side because I'm planing on ordering a cabinet on the right side, the preferred way to open it. I'd like to find a hard top to both side cabs, but we'll see. It's been two and a half years to get this far. Don't tell the wife!

Re: Snap on krsc46 mod thread .

I've been trying to figure out how to make a home made board of some sort to hang my battery chargers on as well as my streamlight stinger led. Any ideas? I was thinking about mounting it to the bolt bolted on the non handle side.

I was contemplating adding nut certs to the to inside panel to hang my chargers but the biggest not doesn't have mount holes. And the clearance doesn't give much room to make a mistake. If you try the side mount bracket it has holes you may be able to utilize to mount almost anything.

I added a TV connected to a laptop to my box. I used the holes that were already on the lid.

I considered doing that recently, but the screen would hit certain sockets and chargers with batteries inserted when the lids closed for the night.

I never really keep anything up top when closing down for the night. The lid just barely closes with the tv in there but there is still some room on the sides.

A ton of really cool looking boxes and set up here. Wondering if this could also be considered a KRSC43 mod thread as well since I believe the only difference is the lid.

I think that there's been a few posts about the KRSC43 already in this thread. And the KRSC246 too! Post away.

Here you guys go, these are the pictures of my drawers. A little back ground on myself: I'm a transport refrigeration tech in Phoenix. I've been building this box for the last 2 & 1/2 years. It has a been a fun, expensive, entertaining headache. This page has helped the process, but unfortunately this build will be coming to an end soon. My next few additions will be her last.... (She can't take much more) please stop back and leave me your ideas & feed back:

Pretty good idea. Great way to customize the panel to your liking.
Thanks. I found some thumb screws and large washers to directly bolt the 3/4 plywood to the box. I'll eventually router the edges and paint it blue. I'd like to get the universal IR charger they just came out with to consolidate both chargers to one.

I was just about to ask you how you planned on finishing it. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

While on the subject of swapping drawers, I'm considering a KRSC43 cart with some 2" drawers but I'm concerned they are not as deep as KRL drawers. I know the 4" drawers in my KRL722 are slightly taller than the 4" drawers in my KRSC326.

I have Snap-on body hammers and screwdriver sets in my KRL722 drawers, can anyone confirm those items fit in KRSC43 / KRSC46 2" drawers?

I'm not sure about the KRSC43, but the drawers in the KRSC46 are the same as those used in the KRA4107 roll cab, so the 2" drawers from that box directly swap over. I'm sure the KRSC43 is also based on another KRA box.

afazz what color box do you have? I could possibly trade you some of my 4" drawers for your 2" if you would like. I have extreme green.

I haven't bought one yet, I plan on custom ordering with the exact drawer configuration I want. I would buy Green Mica to match my main toolbox.

Has anyone found a source or part number for the OE soft, thin and sticky drawer liners? The set I got was the thicker plain rubber ones.

I've stuck with them because I'm cheap, but all the rubber bumpers on my milwaukee tools have "melted" because of those liners. All but the rubber on the battery. Anything around the top of the tool has turned so soft on the side I lay it on that is deformed or flattened.

Completely MAXED out! Here she is gentlemen! The Big Red Truck showed up today with the last large installment for my box! I added the recommend rubber top mat, the 3 station battery charger, the gloss black edge guards & a nice size cabinet with two shelves. However I'm still waiting on the power cord holder... This thing is awesome! Enjoy.

Great thread. Lots of good ideas. I'm wondering why no one hangs the side boxes off the top of the carts for free instead of buying the adapter. Any reason?
