I've got a question for you guys with custom ordered cart. I've been talking to my Snap On rep and I'm wanting a extreme green KRSC46 cart with four 2" drawers up top in place of two 4" drawers. He has called and they are saying it can't be ordered that way.

I'm wondering if everyone in this thread that has posted pics, bought the drawers separately and installed them on their own. I'm mostly referring to the white and green boxes in this thread that say they custom ordered their carts.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Eric

My Extreme Green cart was custom ordered new as you saw it with the (4) 2" drawers up top and the black drawer trim.

I do not know any information how the guy (who I bought it from) ordered it, I figured it was a one time thing that his Snap-on dealer hooked him up with. from what he said he purchased several of them this way. He was selling two that he ended up not needing, the Extreme Green one and an Electric Orange one. They both had the (4) 2" drawers up top and the black drawer trim.
I didn't like the color of the orange one, so I took the green one ($950).
They were both new and neither had the plastic removed, handles installed, or the bag of drawer liners opened/installed.
Only after I got it home did I realize that the 4" drawers all have dual ball bearing slides.
What a steal!
In hind sight, I should have bought both of them. I called the guy back but the other one sold right away as well.

I am 99.999% certain mine has the standard part number ( KSRC46GPJJ ), however I will look an see if it has a different model number.

I appreciate the help. I'm hoping I can custom order one with the 2" drawers as yours is. He is saying that a couple people are saying yes, and a couple people are saying no. If he can see a pic of the ID tag with the part number and other numbers he can get info on where the box was built.

Thanks,
Eric

I thought I posted in here, however I apparently did not.
Since Snap-on Tools wants an arm and a leg for each drawer, and they haven't had any stock in forever I recently (about a month ago) purchased a second Extreme Green cart that was like new with a rubber top mat for $850. I swapped my bottom 8" drawer for (2) of it's 4" drawers and robbed rubber top mat as well. I then sold the "extra" green cart to my father, so everyone benefited well from it.

All the storage of a larger box in a more compact and portable size.
to me this was a much better option than having a side cabinet hanging off it. Those seem to make the cart appear non-symetrical, adds a lot of unneeded heft and size to the cart, and offer really limited storage for their cost.

With a total investment of around $1,100.00 here is what I like to call the Ultimate KRSC is it sits today:
I do still have to get another black drawer trim for the bottom drawer and they are only sold in 2-packs, go figure. That will add another $35 to the overall price.

I do know that unlike the other three KRSC carts I have, this one was built in the USA (Iowa). Until semi-recently they were built in Canada.
I'll get a photo of my tag and post it. I will block the specific serial number when I post the photo, but I will send you a PM with my serial number included as maybe that will help since Snap-on should be able to see how it was ordered, built, and it's entire short history...at least until I bought it (private sale).

My Snap-On dealer called and he said if I could get the serial # off the box that you bought originally with the four 2" drawers he may be able to order me one. With that, they could see how it was configured and ordered. I told him I'll ask and see.

I figured that might do the trick! Easily done. : )

Thank you very much. Hopefully with that I can order one.

We have one at the shop I work at but it is the Snap On Verus scanner work center with the printer and all the accessories. I looked at it and it was made in Canada. That box is what has me wanting one to begin with and ever since I found this thread and the pic of your green box......:D

I stand corrected. My cart is not listed as a KRSC46GPJJ at all!
My cart is technically model # SM13-19PKG.

I am extremely (pun intended) curious as to what the model number is on bcleen's white box that also had the (4) 2" drawers in post #'s 127 & 138?!?

Here is my data sticker (with the serial number blocked out):

Thanks for the tag Daniel. I sent a pic to my Snap On rep and maybe he can get ahold of something. He has talked to several people about custom ordered carts and some are saying yes, and others say no. One guy said he would also like to know as he's had a few guys wanting a cart with the smaller drawers also. He said I should know something by next Monday.

I appreciate the help,
Eric

My Snap-On rep stopped by today. He can pull the number up in his system but it shows the SM13-19PKG as discontinued. He has talked to several people about a custom order cart and some are saying yes and others saying no. He talked to someone "high up" and this is what he was told. They are not currently taking any orders for custom carts right now. I guess where they have a lot of specials on big boxes they aren't doing any right now. He is going to check back with that guy and see again if there is something they can do on one.

I appreciate the help with this and the cart number.

Thanks,
Eric

A little late to the party but did you paint that service cart or did you get it like that? I have a krsc46 in orange and would like a cart to match.

It bought it green. It was just a 2 tray cart and I added the drawer and prybar holder. They don't make green anymore. I was told there was only 2 left in the warehouse

Im new to this but I recently purchased a krcs43 which I believe is the same thing as the 46 but my top slides open, anyways it was a custom order before I got it so its WHite. I really do like it but looking for a little more drawer space, I thought about a side box but the $ is way up there for me cant justify it, so I been reading on here and im liking the idea of taking my 4"drawers out and replacing them with 2". That being said I dont have my own snap on guy because im not a mechanic this is just a hobby but I have one near where I work that will help me out. My question to you guys is first is this the best way to add storage besides a side box? And second is will and do the snap on guys buy back or trade in the drawers id be taking out? Thank you for any help

Can you list down from top to bottom how you have yours setup? I have the same box and found many different ways to save space. Also, do you have any tools that you can remove from what they're stored in?

I have 5 4" inch drawers and the bottom one is an 8" i believe, either 6 or 8". 90% of my tools are out of their "storage" and everything I have "organized" made more room. I have tried reorganizing it to create room but its not working I need another drawer or side cabinet. I like to be organized thats the problem, i dont like tools ontop of other tools or having to move something to get to another tool.

How are you guys liking you Krsc46's? I'm thinking about getting one or a Krsc246 since my SO guy is giving a good deal on both.

I'm tossed up between the KRSC46 and the KRSC246. I'm an HD mechanic apprentice, previously a licensed AME so I'm used to working out of just a cart or smaller box.

What would you guys suggest for a cart? The 246 has deeper drawers, but a bit skinnier. Is it worth the extra $7-800 (Cdn) for the 246??? Or should I get the 46 and add some 2" drawers? Or will that end up costing me more than the difference between the bigger cart?

Also should mention I'm gonna try getting it on my apprentice discount. Hopefully it isn't a problem switching drawers ordering on the apprentice discount.

Not sure what the price is USD, but Canadian the KRSC46 is about $1800, and the KRSC246 is about $2500. But the difference becomes slightly less if I use my apprentice discount on either of them 35% off either box.

And yea I think I got the picture from Thumper Talk haha, I used to have an RMZ250, got a KTM 250SXF now though.

Ha ha should have thought about putting plastics on my horse like that as well!!!

Like the boxes they are NICE!!!

Just got 2 strokes RM's 125/250.

Boxes like those last a lifetime like the bigger caster wheels. Maybe one day I can get one, Snap-On has AWESOME tool boxes!

Anybody have any insight on the two carts I mentioned?

I just wanna know, is it worth it to get a 46 and replace with two 2" drawers right away, or just get the 246, have the two thin drawers but have extra depth? I'm having a hard time, wish I could see them both in person.

I don't need tons of space as I do have lots of tools in my truck. I'm more worried about getting the 46 and afterwards finding I needed the extra depth for longer wrenches and tools, or are people finding the 46 deep enough for HD use?
