Probably building a garage this summer. I have been reading through old posts on lifts, and put a bunch of links in here to organize my thoughts.

Fantastic job - perhaps this could serve well as a sticky? Thank you for sharing!

The downside is that the search function goes backwards chronologically. I don't think I got back past 7/13, so any worthwhile posts prior to that, probably not in there. Welcoming any additions.

Thanks for putting all that info in one place! I'm about to install a 2 post lift in the new shop and some of those links saved me some searching effort for sure!

Very cool. I'm looking forward to the day when I have a space that will accommodate a 2 post lift.

This has greatly simplified my search. I think this should be a sticky somewhere. I know theres a good many lift questions and I'm guilty as well since it takes a bit to dig through all the search info

Thanks, I am in the decision phase, also. I am leaning toward a 4 post mostly because I won't have to get on the floor and position the arms. I had both knees replaced Jan 2015, and kneeling is still difficult. With the 4 post I will drive on and lift. Yes, rack jack or at least jack trays are a must.

Problem with it being a "sticky" is it's a snapshot in time... unless somebody maintains it.

The search function is always up to date.

I thought this was a thread about the design of the posts on automotive lifts... not a "Thread about Lifts"..

I don't know of anyone privately who uses an in-ground lift. The cost is more than double a 2 post and an in-ground isn't really advantageous compare to a 2 post except maybe a cleaner look. Ground set up is way more involved as well.

Anyway, I think maybe someone important should consider some sort of compilation with lift stickies. Everyone has shared a ton of great info that takes a lot of work to pick through the hay stack. I know it'd be a lot of work for the mods but that's what mods are for lol
