Glad things are moving along Strouty.

My garage became watertight in the spring of 2013 and thats when I started loading it up. Have rearranged it a few times already and will most likely do it some more. Each time it gets closer to my liking. Will I have it just right, who knows, but since I've spent my whole life moving things around, whats a few more times. I've drawn out detailed plans moved stuff on paper but have always found something better after its been set up for real. For me, the big thing is being able to get at something without having to move two or three things to get there.

I setup one area, even color coordinated the bins. I think I may try and keep each shelf unit one color so they look uniform. We pulled the motor and trans out of the car, then we put the car out back, the shop floor is a bit messy. Tomorrow I should be able to clean the floor up and get some more done on the stock room. It may even be time to bust out the label maker.

I am not sure of the exact model number because it is custom, but the style is a triple bank epiq that is 84" wide. I special ordered it with the wacky drawer configuration, color, trim, and wheels.

Because of the snow and the fact that my GF wants to watch the football game at 4:30, I decided not to go to the shop today. I have been cleaning a few things up at the house, I really need to gather up all the tools from the basement and make sure I have a complete set at home before I sell all the extra stuff from the shop. I also need to rework my fish tank, it used to house a frog, but he died earlier this week and I no longer need the tank to have a land area. It will be nice to have more water and more fish anyways. May the frog rest in peace.

Strouty, would a clamp rack like this work for your clamps or do you have too many?
This is what I use, then any over flow I put into a single box for when I need to refill, One box takes up less space. Then a bunch of boxes of extra's

Rich, the frog was a native to Maine, one year I thought I rescued it from a frozen death, but come to find out it could totally freeze and then in the spring thaw out and still be alive. My GF did not want me to let him go until after the snow, then the excuse was it was used to us feeding it. Anyways turned into 2 years.

As far as the hose clamps go, I was thinking something like that, not 100% sure yet. The equipto drawer setup holds most of the smaller ones, so I think it would only be for large clamps. I was thinking about some type of pegboard with long posts so I could hang them horizontal, rather than vertical.

Pegboard is great for clamp storage and the best part, you don't need to take up wall space. It can be a small piece mounted to the side or back of a shelf where the hoses are stored.

Nines, that was what I was thinking, Don said Lowes sells some metal pegboard, but it appears they only have it in vertical orientation. I am going to try and get some from Amazon that is horizontal orientation. Of course I will have to redo the shelves one more time, but I can handle that.

Sorry to hear about your frog, I've never had a frog but have had snakes before along with lots of other critters. The last fish I had were guppies but I had a big party one weekend and some friends ended up funneling them with beer bongs... never got fish again... I would like a nice salt water tank but they are pretty expensive and too much maintenance for my liking.

The tank I have is considered a paludarium, where there is part land, part water. At this point I will probably turn it into all water and just concentrate on the fish and plants. I almost enjoy the live plants as much as the fish. I used to have some Oregon Newts, they were fun and hung out with the frog and the fish, they are all gone as well. Currently we still have a bearded dragon, I used to have several lizards and snakes, I also had a Meller's Chameleon, that was an interesting pet. Half my battles with reptiles revolve around winter and keeping things warm and humid.

I had a friend with a large brim and catfish in a tank back in high school. He'd let me feed the brim when I came over with live crickets, that joker could eat!

Sorry to hear about Rich the Frog. I used to have frogs, too. Ralph and Alice were White's tree frogs, AKA Austrailian Dumpies. Benny and Jet were Gray tree frogs, right out of my back yard. They were around for about 8 years. I also have fish tanks. I used to have 8, now I just have 1 live planted 58 gallon with Red Turquoise Stendker discus and a bunch of other little fish. I like the live plants, too. I'd really like to have a live rock reef setup, but Mrs. LS6 says "No way"...

LS, the frog was never named, I was talking to Rich, but that would have been a good name. He was a woods frog, I guess we called it Froggy. I would like to get a nice setup with some poison dart frogs, they are gorgeous. The saltwater tanks are very expensive to start and keep going, I am not ready for one yet, but maybe in the future.

Roaches, eww. I had one friend in school who's dad built him his own 24th apartment in their backyard and that dude had a 10' python, couple boas, dozens of different spiders and beetles and bred the large hissing roaches. I was cool with everything BUT the roaches! [emoji38]

They are not that bad, of course in Maine if they escape, they are not going to survive long. We have had hissing roaches, lobster roaches, and dubia roaches. There are two hissers left, but they are the same ***, then we have a small colony of the dubia to feed Fred (the bearded dragon).

I would literally rather wrestle an alligator than have a roach on me! I even like spiders and rats more than roaches, something about them grosses me the F out!

Last time I was in Arkansas the **** roaches were every where. I couldn't get out of there quick enough.

I've had a dozen or so frogs and trio of toads, mostly aquatic african clawed frogs, dwarf and full size, pigmented and albino, but the most fun were the Cuban tree frogs.

Never had a native frog, but the toads were all native caught.

The aquatic frogs were the most aggressive eaters I've ever seen.

The only aquatic frog I ever had was a dwarf african something or other, it lasted about a week, the newts enjoyed it. The newts would eat anything they could catch, so I had to have fast or big fish in with them.

In Florida we have roaches but mostly what freaks people out are Palmetto bugs. They average about 1 1/2" long and are just like a big roach. They don't carry disease or such but are a nuisance and do eat paper and dry food products. I use industrial strength chemicals to keep ALL Roaches under control.

I don't think I would like any roaches as a native species, we have them in glass cages with a layer of vasoline on the top edge and a screen top. They are sneaky buggers.

Facepalm... How did I not realize Rich was not the frog? One of the tropical fish stores I deal with has a beautiful paludarium with Blue Poison Arrow frogs in it. he also has a pair of Yellow ones in a smaller terrarium. They're cool critters for sure. My favorites are still Red Eyes...

We have them, but not like you do! I remember working in Mars Hill, we got a truck stuck and had to dig it out by hand. I had shorts and a short sleeve T-shirt on, I looked like I had chicken pox the next day.

LS, no worries, I can see how you thought that at first.

Rich (not the frog), don't worry your name is still safe, no frogs were named after you.

I plowed and shoveled today, got the shop cleared out and my buddy came back over to get the engine from the volvo project. We took a look at the F350 alternator and he suggested soaking it in WD40 and trying to spin the pulley. I soaked it earlier, and it spun with a pair of pliers, not totally free by hand, but I am going to douse it again before I leave. He thinks that the alternator is fine and just got some water in it and seized up. I would love to not have to remove the thing, so I figure it is worth a shot. Also kind of looks like the pulley is too tight tot he case, so I am going to try and remove it and put a washer in behind it.

Anyways, not much happening today, I am just going to finish cleaning up the floor and put away a few tools. I probably won't be back to the shop tomorrow either. I will update when I come back.
