Todays Bonney tool found in a pawn shop going out of business a A22 11/16ths half inch socket. Along with a Snap-on 15/16ths deep well socket all at a cost of $2.00 for the items. Now I have 3 A22 sockets, oh well barter material.

Ok folks, I KNOW y'all can help me with this one. I have plenty to trade so simply tell me what you're after. This board should be Bonoloy. Note that the small wrenches don't have a Bonoloy forged in. Note that I put CV placeholders in some spots but this is a Bonoloy era board.

I need the following RED Text = Acquired:

Tappets: 420, 424, 424A, 425, 426.

DOE: 1723A, 1031, 1029, 1028S, 1027A, 1731A, 1033A, 1033C, 1034, 1034A, 1735.

Twertsy, I have a 424A from 1951 in excellent condition and a 1033C from 1948 that's been abused.
BTW, did you take the tape stickers off that board to reveal the parts numbers? Were the tape stickers unrelated, or alternate (revised) parts numbers?

Gents, I truly appreciate the effort. Please PM me with what you might want / need as a trade.

Thanks! Todd

Got a few more since I got the set of Metric, been lucky recently and a few have turned up, all were bought as singles.
View media item 78314Thats the 3rd 19mm but you can never have to many of those.
Nice wrenches. Any luck find either the 13 or 15 MM longs as I have had zero luck locating those two sizes as they are the two missing from set and I have everything else from 10 MM-20 MM. I did find Matco versions made by Bonney and I have those added to my set for now

Saw this at an auction. Thought of you guys.
And???!!! Where's the rest of the story?! Was it actually being auctioned? Or is that just hanging on a wall at the auction house. It looks like a 'Lost and Found' station. Or perhaps an emergency board (to chain unruly participants down and cut their hands off)? :lol_hitti

I'm pretty sure that nothing on that board was made by Bonney. Nice board though.

I have each of those in my set but haven't got another 13, I think I may have another 15 but am trying to build a second set myself anyway, I buy all I can on ebay here, but that isn't much.

Those red Bonney boards seem to be getting more attention lately!

This one popped up on eBay maybe a week or two ago for $25 with free shipping, which is absurd. Even more because I think it ended without selling. I hesitated because it had hangers for screwdrivers, which I have not been collecting, and there were other items I was watching with more interest. If I had it to do again, I’d buy it, and convert it to wrenches (sacriledge, I’m sure).

Yeah and one was on there for like $89.00 and the shipping was $105.00 to my place. Just a little to much. The guy even jumped on the tractor forum I was on and tried to sell me the board, I politely refused due to the high shipping cost.

Went pawn shopping today and went further out. I was down to see a couple former co-workers today and after visiting awhile I decided to go and see what the shops in that area had. Not much in the way of Bonney but I found a Utica 50 7 diagonal cutters/pliers in a pawn that had it in a box of loose junk. Not bad for a $1.10. I cleaned them up and the cutters look new. The pivot was stiff and I shot it with some PB Blaster and they smoothed right out.

And now this. A tin-covered wooden 2-drawer chest for 3/4dr CV socket tools. I wonder if it says “Hercules” in front of “heavy duty.” Can’t see. And I don’t get the non-square corners on what seem to be the side panels. Really intriguing piece, maybe retail inventory/display from the late 1930s? I don’t see anything like it in catalogs.

I think your right about the retail display. A nice piece none the less.

This seems like an appropriate thread to post a bonney vise I noticed on craigslist. If one of you die-hards wants it and communicates with the seller for pictures and such I could possibly arrange to pick it up - if they are flexible, I will be in the area on christmas. It does look like a rotating base vise - missing the base.

https://harrisburg.craigslist.org/tls/d/vise-heavy-duty-made-in-usa-6/6433422707.html

Not sure what dimension the seller is measuring at 6”, maybe height.
Looks to be a no840 Garage Vise: 4” jaws, 4-1/2” opening, 38lbs, listed in the 1925 catalog.

Twertsy - congrats!

Congrats Twertsy! Beautiful display item, and I'm sure exceedingly rare. I look forward to seeing how it cleans up.

Christmas came and went and I got this today in the mail from a eBay seller and I only ordered the MTL10 10MM socket and he also sent as a bonus free a Granco universal 10 MM socket. Good ebayer and a pleasant surprise. I also snapped a picture of all my Bonney ratchets and breaker bars.

It's home! Didn't realize the front was sloped but I love it! It was made to store 3/4" drive 6pt. sockets and drive tools but it'll hole all my CV era sockets here.dcf47294b70cbb0fc36f3cc17fc9d988.jpgaefab82292a699fe2b452947c1d511ec.jpgd3a856f0c7a16c6648bf53971a440684.jpgc7bc4cfabf17c42a7c78412fc4281fa7.jpg

I've got a NOS 1/4" and used older 3/8"ers. Still looking for a nice NOS 1/2" to complete that set.
Are looking for a A720 or A724, I saw a couple A724's on eBay that I would not give as much as they are charging. One looked that used it in a welding shop as it had severe pitting on the head and the 2nd had rust really bad on the head

I've have to dig out the catalog and check my 1/2" set box to see which one would suit me better.

Yeah, the bay is a bit pricey on some things. And prices on Bonney stuff has jumped since they've been "re-discovered".

Yes the prices are more now then a while back but they should know that to sell some items in the rather beat up condition means to sell it for less not more.

The A724 is 18" long and the A720 is a 12" long. I personally prefer the A724 as I can get better leverage on it and I have used mine since it was new but in 1983. The only disadvantage is the fact of it being long and I have run into situations where the length got in the way. I got the A720 this past summer and I have used it and it also worked great in a tighter area.

I have also over the years broke a few sockets with the A724 but I also used sockets that I did not care if I broke them and not my Bonney sockets. I am not that big or strong but I think it had something to do with a cheater bar on it. But it all being said I think that you would be dollars ahead with the longer A724 as it really a great breaker bar that I have never seen twist like a pretzel with lessor quality brands.
