I got two new metric deep 1/4" sockets today a 8MM MVLH8 and a 12MM MVHL12 both are duplicates but the prices were right on eBay. The new software for this site is limiting the size of the download of pictures so I post pictures later when the issues are worked out of the new to me sockets

Looks good! Why are we all new members?
It will take some time with new program for the admin to get us all updated and then input all the info on all the members. We had the same thing over at a tractor forum I used to hang out at and it took several weeks to work out all the bugs and then get to adding in the members total tally

One other thing is if you hover over your screen name or for that matter any screen name without clicking it, there will be a popup window that appears and shows your post count. Just experiment with the program. The old forum software there was security issues and the fact that it was not being supported or updated anymore and the site had to eventually change over to a supported forum software. This is going to take some time for everyone to get used to

Tip: If you have viewed a thread since the change, clicking on it now will take you to your last spot. If you haven't viewed the thread in the past, click on the time of the last post (on the far right, above the poster's name) and it will take you to the last post. You can scroll back from there to get caught up.

Thanks, Mike, Prov.
I’m finding the whole transition fascinating. It’s interesting to witness the reactions of users to changes. Some changes are before/after, some are Ryan’s tweaks, some are the platform populating. What’s got my attention right now is how user reactions reveal that we are on different hardware and software.
“I like the new font” / “I hate the new font” kind of stuff. So much will never display the same across different devices, and we set different preferences partly in response to how the content displays on OUR device.
I use an iPhone exclusively - never a laptop or desktop - so my preferences are going to be different from someone on one of those, or even an Android. A while back, I tried the hand-held app for a day and hated it. Maybe after the dust settles, I’ll try it again.

Careful mrx, you may get the bonney bug! Nice find.

I think I got the bug just looking at mrx’s picture! Good find mrx. That tape measure is pretty cool too nutria. Bonney stuff is pretty scarce in my part of the world. I could probably count on one hand the bonney pieces I have seen in the wild

That set posted by MrX is something else. The view of the logo, with the artful script deserves an up close personal photo. I don’t believe anyone anywhere makes things with that quality of artfulness now.

Nutria, that Bonney tape measure is really nice.
You should cross post that in the vintage tape measure thread over HERE.
Thanks, and I'll post it in the other thread.

There's actually more to the garage sale story. I'd purchased an old red oak desk at a sale, just as they were closing, and I asked about the three 4x8', 1/4"-thick peg boards in the garage. They said that they were free, along with a hundred or so hooks and a handful of older tools that were hanging there, as long as I got them gone. I said ok, and we were all happy. The tape was one of the things on the boards.

Most recent finds…a big OLD screw driver, some less-old screwdrivers, pre-1921 wrenches, and a U.S.A. lugwrench with the same model number (2553) as (and shown with) a very different CV MADE IN U.S.A. I posted last year. Not shown: a couple deep sockets.

Loving the cool stuff you've got there, OldTool. The reefer set is very impressive. You don't see many that complete anymore.

I just had to explain to my wife what those tools were used for, as I made such an exclamation she came over to see what I was drooling over. Sadly they don't make the repairable kinds of disconnect valves anymore, and I don't think those sockets can be cross-purposed. But perhaps I'm wrong. Maybe there's a plumbing use for them?

This 4080L was listed on the bay as a "flare nut line sexure grip wrench" or something like that! Lol! It was rusted out and had no guts in it! I recognized it as a long handle A700 1/2" drive. Sure enough when I got it i cleaned it up and swapped in the guts of the A700! They both have "M" date codes so I believe 1949!

So I posted a couple of these wrenches a while back, but my Bonney DBE collection has grown significantly since then! Here's what's been found around the farm so far:

5/8 x 9/16 2806
3/4 x 5/8 2807
25/32 x 11/16 2808B
7/8 x 11/16 2808D
7/8 x 3/4 2808
15/16 unknown number
1 1/16 x 7/8 2811E
1 1/4 x 1 1/16 2812B

I'm fairly certain that my grandfather cut the 15/16 wrench to perform emergency maintenance on whatever tractor implement or combine he was using at the time. It hurts my tool collecting heart that he cut it, but oh well that's the reality of farming. If it doesn't fit, make it fit!

I don't know how many other DBE wrenches belong to this set or if I have the whole set already, so if anyone has any insight please let me know!

OK here is my set
5/16 X 3/8 P/N 2803
3/8 X 7/16 P/N 2804L
1/2 X 9/16. P/N 2805L. I got 2 of these
5/8 X 11/16. P/N 2807A
5/8 X 13/16. P/N 2807
3/4 X 13/16 P/N 2808A
3/4 X 7/8. P/N 2808
3/4 X 13/16. P/N 2808F
7/8 X 15/16. P/N 2809
15/16 X 1" P/N 2810
1 X 1 11/16. P/N 24235 Kelsey Hayes Loc Rite

These are all the final years 1968-1995 full polish chrome double box end wrenches except for the 2805 which on I acquired from eBay. I found the P/N 24235 Kelsey Hayes double box end wrench in a pawn shop and I knew what it was and took it home. The rest of the set was either I bought new in 1983 or are replacements from missing wrenches over the last 4 years.
