Totally agree BigBlue! I can appreciate cool bikes of any era, but there is something that draws me in to that 90’s style. Bikes in the eighties had that standard tubing bike look. The 90’s introduced all this wild aluminum work. Today’s bikes are amazing, but share the same “successful” style. I see modern bikes from a distance and it could be anything.
Take the tubing work on the Super V. It’s so smooth and done so well, but wow, when you really think about it, it’s a mess. Different sizes flowing into each other. Flats. Rounds. It’s all over the place.
Reminds me of welding with my father on a plow frame for a garden tractor. He was planning to use all this stuff he had. Square tube, round tube, plate, angle. My like 12 year old self cringed and suggested we stick with similar styles of material.
