A local electronics store bought out another store a few months back and once they were done cataloging all the stuff they got, they sold all of the old Equipto Card file cabinets that the parts arrived in. I was able to snag 6 of them that were in decent condition. They aren't all the same color, but that's an issue for another day. I bolted them together, and then bolted the whole assembly to the side of one of my pallet racks. And now I have almost 7 feet of parts storage. Most of the drawers had dividers in them already, so I can subdivide the drawers down any way I need to or just leave them open for larger items. (Heavy stuff low, lighter stuff up top.) I don't use these for strictly "nut and bolt" storage. Its more general storage. I do use some of the drawers for large nuts and bolts though.
I also got my hands on some dry erase vinyl and cut tags for each drawer. I use a Wet Erase marker to label the drawers, so if I need to change the labels, I just take a damp rag and wipe it down. Its not pretty, but its got a ton of space and its really flexible for all sorts of parts.
