Nice!! Love the progress.
Thank you! Not so big progress this time, I only bought stuff :p

I like the wall mounted wood rack. Very nice!

CT
Thanks, my girlfriends liked it as well so Im satisfied :)

I just caught up...excellent job on that roof replacement. I was amazed at the wood chips (?) in the attic, is that just construction debris from the original build or was it put there for a sort of insulation?

The metal roof is excellent, looks nice and I think very durable. I always like it at the end of a big job when I think I won't have to work on "that" again for a very long time.

I have never seen that many weights! Do you think it was the wheel or the tire itself? I would think you could see the wheel go out-of-round on a spindle. I have seen a few lumpy tires though...
Thank you, yeah I love the new roof. Both the look and the feeling that I know I "saved" a building for rotting and falling apart!

Yeah the wood chips are for insulation, very common in old buildings here in sweden.

The wheel was straight on the outside but vobbled a bit on the inside, the tire really straight, so it was very weird I had to put weight mostly on the outside. Out of ideas, told the customer that I didnt want to do it, but also explained that if I did, it might not be good anyway. But he was very reasonable about it and told me that he gonna buy new wheels soon.

That is a nice trailer! Very nice!

CT
Thanks, yeah I love it so far. The stupid thing here in sweden is that I have to upgrade my drivers licence to legally use the trailer because of its size, weight and load capacity.

The tires are cute!! Haha.

What is the capacity on that trailer? Looks well made.
Haha yeah 10" doesnt look big. Its a 3 ton (3000 kg) trailer and it weighs 765kg so I can legally load 2235kg (ca 5000 lbs?) but i can carry even more.

Just read through the whole thread and I'm very impressed. You have a ton of ambition getting that much done while working what I assume is a full time job. I am actually inspired to get some of my own **** done now!

Love all the work done. The wood stacking thing is awesome! What can we expect for this summer with cars and the garage?

That is a really nice trailer!
Yeah I think it will serve me well. Got it from a dealer in Karlstad, Boonstatrade.

If you don't need an exact conversion figure roughly 3 ft per meter.

Love the old Fire Extinguishers!
6x15 trailer then :) Thank you, old stuff is often very fun to display in garages!

Actually got a "order" for one more wood stacking thing for my girlfriends uncle :)

2018 I will probably build the porsch for my neighbor, some fence/railing on my "roof porsch" on the shop, and might start with the carport (if not Im saving that one for next year)..

That's one hell of a porch! Looks very similar to the one you built for your house. Definitely transformed the look of his house. Before it was definitely lacking character, now it has something interesting going on.

Sorry that Im really bad at taking before shots of most things I do, but I've redone the roof on my girlfriends grandparents smaller cabin. Too bad her grandfather decided to reuse the old roof concrete panels instead of buying new ones

But atleast everything else is new

After that mini vacation that included roof work, ocean bathing, beer drinking etc I decided to tear down a brick wall on the porsch that I've hated since I moved in.

Here is an old pic from the day I got the place:

And now it looks like this:

View media item 86944
Then I mounted my scaffold I bought in january on the side of the house

View media item 86945My first plan was just to change the window and paint the siding, but...

View media item 86946I saw that it looked to be nice cladding behind the siding, so I took it all of

One plus was that I also found to small windows that you couldnt see from inside
View media item 86947
Also took down the weatherproofing boards and put up some new
View media item 86948
Changed the big window and painted the smaller ones. Also installed a tin lip for rain protection

View media item 86954
View media item 86949
And first cout of new white paint
View media item 86950
View media item 86951

A friend of mine helped me fix the exterior on the shop door/doors

View media item 86955
View media item 86956

Also a quick fix in the room up there: Trimmed out around the window, putty and chaulk on walls and roof and a bunch of new fresh white paint on everything. A nice quest room

Very, very nice work.
I also love the old Volvo truck on the pictures.
What happens with the 2 small windows that were hidden behind the siding? Can't understand why would someone condemn windows...

Back in the 50-70's many houses got extra siding on the outside and a thin insulation board on the inside, both because of the insulation and the "new nice siding look" haha :p So you can quite often find small windows that they just hided

Hi again!

Since I've bought the lathe, i have only used it like one time, it wasn't good enough. So I sold it, and moved the tyre machines so now its much closer when I have customer cars in the shop.

Next year Im gonna do the same procedure on the balcony in the front of the house and the next other side, also gonna paint all the brick in a white color.

Until next time!

The garage is looking good, and I love the daily! I remember my godfather had one of those also in white, and it had the "Lambda" text in the front grill, which has stayed in my mind for 30 years, don't know why...

Yep damn right, also I forgot to mention that I was sitting in the pit while it "fell down" :p

Thanks !

I Might start rebuilding a tool chest today, either it will become a new welding cart/table och just a tool cart with wheels that you can drag around in the shop, I will upload pics when its done :)

Alright i just spent my morning, reading through this top to bottom. I am thoroughly impressed. Your craftsmanship and eye for detail are amazing. i love your car choices (ive had multible volvo, MB, BMW and audis ) and I am currently on the search for a 245 myself, i wish we had the availability you have. there are not near as many good ones left here in the states.

well done on all of it

I won't... but do tell!

haha, I tried to lift the car up from bottom of the pit with a jack and a pole of wood, and as soon as it lifted from the ground the car "fell" :p

Thank you for your kind words. I like having projects and stuff to do :)

Yes they've been very available here but nowadays its quite hard to get hold of a reasonable example, a friends of mine even imported a 242 turbo from Us a couple weeks ago :)

Have a nice weekend everybody!

I love that Volvo estate!

BTW, I have a 5m door in my garage, and above it is a block of wood about the dimensions you've drawn. But it might be more expensive than the steel and concrete?
