OP
But this isn't a deck forum. So what about the garage?
Well, it's been a busy week. I've been busy with the deck, busy with work stuff -- and was also recently contacted by two German magazines and an American one (Hot Rod -- calling a Porsche guy?) about the garage.
The first German one was pretty straightforward -- just a phone interview. The second one was scheduled for today. This one was going to be in person, so I just needed to clean out the garage.
Yesterday afternoon, after two different work meetings, it hit me that I still hadn't done that. I not only had a writer and photographer from the second German magazine coming in the morning, but also that crew from Hot Rod in the afternoon.
And here's what the garage looked like:
I was tired, but I got through it. By that evening, it was back to clean:
You can see a little of the deck cover to the right of the garage/office building.
The German guys were very nice. They got a lot of pictures of the garage, then also pictures of the car being driven up by Mulholland and some shots at rest in the hills above the city. What I saw through the viewfinder looked really great.
The Hot Rod shoot was a little more mysterious. Here was what I immediately saw in my mind when they contacted me:
But that's not how they saw it at all.
They made it clear they did not want the Porsche in the garage -- I assume because it doesn't fit their readership, which was fine. But when they showed up I saw that it was to make room for the model -- which I'd thought was possibly a model of car when they first said the word.
Nope. It's a pretty big operation. There were six or seven of them, and when I mentioned that the stereo usually blasted Springsteen, the photographer revealed that he'd shot two of Springsteen's album covers.
I'm still not quite clear on the concept for the article, other than that it's going to have four or five different garages featured. But the 'I never expected this to happen' part was that a young model has now been photographed posing in my garage.
I'm really not sure why, still. But there you go.
Here are some pictures I took of the pictures being taken.

The 12-Gauge Garage could be in EVERY magazine on the rack! (BTW, do you cook?)
