The 5 Stitches Garage 20 x 22 in FL
I've been tackling a project for about a week now and that's a total garage reorganization. For years I had stuff here there and anywhere it could fit. When I got new box I decided to group tasks better than I once did. Here's the Craftsman wall currently.
From left to right.
The big cabinet holds power tools.
Above it is small table saw and both chop saws.
The top chest is tapes, epoxies , zip ties along those lines.
The middle chest is all drillpress related stuff and any type drill bits.
The bottom roller is my project cart.
Knives, awl, scrapers, putty knives,scissors, measuring, squares stable guns, hand saws, etc.
Top shelf from chop saw to interior door is all fasteners. I need to go get 5 more yellow bins. 4 big bins will be for bigger stuff.
Middle shelf is all bench powered tools grinders and sanders. I got to make plates for them. Putting them here made sense. Easier to pull up and down to use and better use of shelf overall.
Bottom shelf is Drill Doctor, Dewalt Chargers and free space for tools.
Pegboard will remain empty but hooks on small shelf at arms reach to use when needed during a project to stay clean and organized.
Bench will have DP and one vise with that vise removable if needed.
Left bottom roller is anything sanding or polishing related. Bottom area holds belt and hand sanders.
Middle bottom is grinding and filing. Files, hand held grinders and bottom holds all bench grinder discs and grinder related stuff.
Right bottom roller. This is a special roller cause it's the first vintage craftsman. This cabinet hold my vises. The big vise bolted down wouldn't fit after plate in bottom area so it's my everyday vise with my Reed and Prentiss in bottom.
Area to side is for future project but besides sorting nuts and bolts this wall iis all sorted and reorganized front to back and from floor to ceiling.
Corner area. Sorted but ready no changes besides finned cabinet repurposed for paint.
Top shelf mainly got Hitachi compressor moved. It's too heavy to lift from there. Porter cable is lite so is stays. Tools boxes, speakers and charger. All machinist boxes resorted and rearranged according to purpose. No machinist tools in them.
Left one is special items to me.
Middle is tv/stereo remotes, AV cables cameras and chargers.
Right turns into working box. Note pads, paint pens, markers, pencils maglights and small led lights and reading and safety glasses.
HF boxes got cleaned up and stuff moved around. All hand tools and related in these boxes.
Top shelf resorted and got all small battery chargers in red bins. Moving stuff around allowed better use of space and more uniform look. Moving stuff around allowed me to have buckets I use frequently in front and other items stored behind them. LOL. 26 in machinist chest hiding behind buckets.
Cabinets resorted with left all fluids and right being all cleaning.
Bottom roller hold everything but helmet for welding, including soldering, propane torches, gloves and every clamp I own.
Next is mig cart and torch cart. Still working on them and the lonely ridge and above is stool and thinkIng jaw horse. TRUST ME I know I let this go but soon I will do something about ridge.
And storage wall is constant project but I'm thinning it down. Top shelf, hanging cords, lawn equipment resorted and cleaned up. Green bins need another going through but that's a constant thing anyway.
Loooonoooong post. Feels real good even though its doesn't show in the pic the true amount of work that was done. I about emptied every area and redid it. I've also need checking attic. It's a little hideaway for store stuff I found I thought I would keep. Looking to see if I can work it in to garage or if not going bye bye.
