Well, 4 hours later. The beast is knocked over. Sure there’s a huge hole, but now we can toss all kinds of ruble in it once we drag the stump out.
Notice the rock intertwined in the roots.

I don’t have any vidmar stuff anymore :( the Lista handles are built into the top lip of the drawers, so those are no help. I bet eBay will have something, probably cost more than the cabinet did though. I would say your price qualifies for a “You ****” and that stump was a big one, four hours sounds like a battle.

Yeah, she’s a big stump. We started with some hand digging and sawzalling the big roots. All that was futile, so just started digging a moat around the stump. My neighbor suggested I chain to my truck to pull and push with the bobcat.

Truck pulling and bobcat pushing, she’s out. Hole filled, but still need to raise it up and grade.
Also, was about to replace the 5 drawer lateral file cab with the 3 drawer Vid, but the ply floor was not supported where it should have been. Rot? Did it roll during the move? Need to cut an access hole tomorrow.

The new vid is in. It’s taking up a bunch of floor space, but oh my, what you can fit in a drawer.

Can’t mix and match the drawers as these are 45” and the old one is 60” wide. If it was in better condition I’d be tempted to flip it, but this beat one is perfect for me.
The yard resculpting is complete for now. Went from a thin strip of crazy sloped lawn to this. Next year it will grow more to be squared off. Feel like I’ve mastered the bobcat.

It was a nice thought on the drawer swap, oh well. If you seed that up, you will have grass this year for sure, then seed it again before snow and it will be ready in the spring, some hay will help too, keeps the seed from wandering away.

Now’s the time for the seed to go down and keep it moist for a while. Plenty of hay to keeps the birds off it and it will decompose for the grass.

Good job on the new drawer organization. Hopefully you can remember when everything is so you don’t have to open 12 drawers to find the tool you need.

Good tips Strout and Cap. I’m no grass guy, but I’m working with some experienced locals.
Got a load of loam dumped. Was hoping that it would be enough, but I’m questioning that.
Did grab this walking Thompson sprinkler from the scrap pile. It wants to move and I think it just needs some cleaning and greasing. It’s a cool piece that should be great for the seeding.

The grass is coming in!
While mowing the front, not the new seed, I jumped into stripping the Gary frame with aircraft stripper. Once you pull the stickers it’s not horrible.
Almost there. The plan is to go bare aluminum. Do I need to clear it or will a light oiling be all I need?
All the components from my current Gary Fisher Bitter will go over to this Sugar 4+ frame.

Grabbed some shed decor off the side of the road. Useable water skis and a retro cool 50’s tri folding metal science kit case. Thinking I’ll pull that front piece off and hang it on the wall. Skis will get hung outside the shed come spring along with a skim board and the old pink tandem.

Had a free minute so I grabbed the grinder and started cutting the unnecessary v-brake mounts. I had already drilled the rivit, so my thinking was that the heat generated from the grinding would loosen the glue. Boom! Pryed right off.
Now to strip the paint so she’s ready to reassemble in the basement over the winter.

Boiler, I really do. Don’t know why, but I do.
Drove past this today and said to the dude driving “was that a harp?”

Strouty, ha, drive past it. That’s a good one, lol!
Driftpin, had to google zither. Not sure that I’ve ever heard the term before.
Wasfast, yeah, it says autoharp, but once Driftpin said zither, I was hoping for that as it just sounds cooler. I’m not sure that it fits the definition of a zither. It is an instrument like a guitar without a neck, but google doesn’t list it as a zither due to the pressing of keys to dull or mute specific sounds. I’m no expert, but it should be a fun addition to the house.

Just YouTubed some Romanian Master of the Pan Flute. Wow! Amazing! Could get lost down that Interwebs rabbit hole for days.

They used to have commercials on TV for his music, pretty sure it was for CDs, but could have been cassettes. You would hear that melody at least once per show.

Today’s goal, spot a pan flute! Or a sweet old bike. Maybe a early 90’s mtb.
Thinking we need a “best roadside find of the day” thread. Hmmmm

Not one of you found a pan flute? Unbelievable.
Been watching for a clean bt3000 saw for a while. I wasn’t sure if I could really fit it in, but I decided to try as I was missing a dedicated saw. Tossed some **** I’d been hoarding and moved her in. I like it. Now to figure out a table filler piece and mount a router.

She is all nekid aluminum ready for assembly. Got a friend with one of those Cricket sticker cutter printer things, so I’m looking into just a few decals.

Back to the saw. Anyone have bt3000 tuning tips?
Spent a few minutes getting the sliding table all tuned up to remove the slop. It’s got 4 cammy bolts that worked great. Next I’ll work to get the thing parallel to the blade along with the other table pieces.
The stand had a little jiggle which was addressed by just tightening up the bolts, but I wanted to add storage. This old 26in top box was perfect. Gave it a quick spray, new old handles, and screwed it in. The back side is recessed about 5 inches which will be perfect for saw type accessory storage.

Spent some time tossing oak through the table saw. Overall, I’m liking the saw. Cuts nice. I need to go through the process of trueing it up as best as I can get it.
Here’s what we made tonight.

5 minute project to empty 3 boxes of spray paint I’ve been kicking around. Simple 10 degree angle shelf.

Thanks Strout. The stand needs a few mods, but overall it will do what I need.
I grabbed a bare 13in Trek 3500 mtb frame the other day. I assumed it was for 24in wheels, but it’s actually for 26, so it’s really little. Planning to throw it together for the not yet 8yo boy, but he may not have the reach. We will see.
Started off with the headset and fitting the Suntour fork from a donor. To keep it compact I thought I might as well cut down the steerer tube.
