A guy on ebay makes them, I think it was around $50. I need to get back down there and do some cleaning its looking like a dump right now.

Thanks its been pretty slow going.
Not a huge update but I finally picked up a buffer, in preparation for a few shows I have coming up. The m3 has to look good.
And speaking of keeping the m3 looking good..... its finally going back to weekend/nice day status, I found a daily.
Its a 2000 limited 4x4 v8. It really wasnt what I was looking for but I can tow with it and gas is cheap right now. Im pretty excited about it.

I'm pretty excited. I finally got it to the house and worked on starting the detail. I think it's going to clean up nice.

Not a huge update but I moved some of the wall "art" around last night to make room for the picture my folks got me for Christmas.
First I moved the BMW flag over behind the 2002. It was getting pretty nasty looking where it was and I can take it down once I start working on the 2002.
I got the bmw print hung where I wanted it, mounted the charger for my drill and impact, and duct taped a poster up that was laying around. I have an actual poster hanger on the way, I just wanted to see how it looked.

I think it was the second owner and it has high miles but it was dirt cheap.
I spent today wet sanding and buffing my dads BMW since it was covered in sapp.
My home made ghetto light rack.
And just a word to the wise. While running a buffer, or any rotating machine secure your loose clothes and cables.

Hey, wait, I do have some gratuitous advice for your used Jeep!
Get some Bilsteins, if they make them for that model. I could ***** all day long about the harshness of Bilsteins in certain light old VW's with otherwise stock suspensions, but for American truck/SUV? They're not harsh at all. They're wunnerful, and, once bolted in, you're probably done forever.

I just grabbed cheap gabriels for it, Im not sure how long Ill keep it. I do have Bilstein sports on the M and I like the way they ride.

I miss those headphones and I still havent found the other end. The light worked pretty well. I may pick up another two bulb set up and attach them both before I do the M3.

Today I finally figured out how to mount the stig poster. It a really awkward size so a frame was out of the question, I bought a poster hanger kit but it turned out to be pretty cheap. I decided that I would have to put something together. This morning I stopped by Officedepot to pick up some bulldog clips, then I raided the scrap wood at work. I found a 1"x2" piece of spruce and put together a quick mount.
Once I made sure that worked, I aligned the holes in the bottom mount.
Tossed on a quick stain.
Finally dried and mounted on the wall.
I need to add another clip on the top and bottom but it seems to work really well. I also wrapped the ends of the poster with duct tape to give the clip something to grab on to.
All and all it came out pretty nice and it was relatively cheap. The spruce would have been the most expensive part but since I picked up at work it was like $5.

Im am taking 10 days off work coming up and I think I am going to try to get my garage floor cleaned up. Im going to rent a grinder to clean up all the old glue and get the concrete smooth but Im not 100% sure what I want to do for a finish. I was either going to stain it, or do the garage floor epoxy kit. Could someone shop a few options for me?
Here are a few shots of the garage.
And the options I was looking at for the floor.
I dont need anything fancy just a few quick chops to get an idea.

I doubt mine would come out that nice, but if I grind my floor down smooth and go with a medium/light gray stain it would look pretty close.
I wouldn't want anything that would hide small bits that fell off a car while I was working on it. The speckled surface under red Vette looks bad that way. Also, I like light! Lots of light! So I don't like dark colors at all.

have you seen denwood's thread? woodys works garage. he ground his old floor and usrd a penetrating white stain like product. looks great.

Cool shop. There's something very cozy about having a basement shop space. Love the 2002. I had a Barvaria for my first car but always wanted a 3.0CSL or 2002tii.

Having just finished my weekend of working on the Audi in my shop, I have to admit the white floor is...awesome. It forces you to be disciplined in terms of cleanliness, bit it's super easy to clean. Here are before after with the latest being two days back. The white concrete stain-sealer saw brake fluid, DSG transmission fluid and a small amount of diesel. It's also seen melt water (salt) from snow and pretty much just mopped the mess up.
One thing is that my floor is 20-30 yrs old and even after grinding (Home Depot Diamabrush rental) there were still quite a few deeper pits. These pits hold dirt..but in my case I'm not so worried..it's a working shop. Andy's garage was an inspiration (Far East garage) ...and I'm glad I chose white. It really helps when a vehicle is on the hoist, not only to locate dropped parts, but also brightens the under car area a lot.
Here's another:

M, I did our commercial space with 4500 sq/ft of tan epoxy with chips. I wish we had done simple white epoxy there. Before doing it in my shop, I had reservations. Now, none.

Nice work, the table, fire extinguisher sign, poster hanger, red poles, snap-on tool kit, work bench, cars. Looks like a nice place to get some work done and to hang out.
Good! There's not much natural light in your basement garage, is there? I'd take every advantage I could get... say, do they make pegboard mirrors?
Love this space, and love the cars. There are very few cars that look better than a clean white e36 M3.
Do you find a lot of noise going through the roof into the house? When I use power tools in the garage it's almost deafening in the rooms immediately above. Are you considering a ceiling with insulation etc?
Keep up the good work and looking forward to seeing what you do with the floor.
