I recently found an entire set of E75s at a swap-meet just south of us for $50/set. Yes, you read that correctly. I sold the entire set in about a week for $2000.

Yea if they were e75 I would keep them or sell them for a set of Weds. I think the long term goal is slightly lower and a refinished set of Weds.

I added some scoops to the e91 last night. I know they do nothing but I think they look cool. I ordered them from Rush Customs, since they are close to me and I wanted them in blue. I plan on doing the M performance blue brake calipers eventually, honestly probably never but I would like them, so I wanted these to kinda match. Before I installed them, I coated them to keep them clean.

Love the wagon/2002! If I had to guess, these scoops do a couple of things:
1) increase pressure drop (inlet restriction) at low vehicle speed, reducing airflow and torque for a given engine speed
2) increase vehicle drag
3) decrease rad/condenser airflow
4) increase rad/condenser restriction, increasing fan current draw

That's just my guess based on experience running full-vehicle CFD as an automotive engineer (M-B, Maserati, SRT, and more...). Now, I have a ton of respect for the guys out there selling $80 folded sheet metal to satisfy the lust for cool colors haha. To me it's amazing how powerful the ///M brand is

I think you are giving them too much credit, I doubt they do even that much. But I like them. Haha. I do have live data through Carly on my phone and temps and fan speed and draw havent changed. This was definitely a cosmetic mod.

Oh, I havent gotten that far yet. I hope its in primer today, I am getting a little frustrated with the painter.

I did nothing of value this weekend. I got all the parts in for the M3 but we had a baby shower Saturday and Sunday I really felt like being lazy. I did "Dad" the wagon. I still cant believe we are having twins.

I think I am going to have a lot of trial and error with the diapers. Those were gifts from the baby shower so I am certainly happy to have them. As for the e9, hes moving on it now. It actually rolled off the rack into the paint booth yesterday, probably 6 more months. Hopefully not that long but while its gone my dad and I are working on other projects. My dad replaced a bunch of mounts on the Xj Wag and adjusted the shift cables, he also replaced all the window seals on the big Wagoneer. I finished the M3 up last night. I put the oil filter housing gasket and Vanos line back on and buttoned it back up last night.

Did a little cleaning underneath as well, it will make it easier to tell if the leak is fixed. And topped it back off with the good stuff.

I have never been an additive guy but I followed my buddy that works for Liqui Moly's advice on my wagon and I am at almost 8k miles without burning a drop of oil. After 2500 miles with mobil 1 I had to top it off. They recommended this additive so I gave it a shot.

I always fall back in love with this car after fixing stuff. I drove it home and left the 02 since it needs a few things. It has a MASSIVE trans leak, so I am going to at least look at it and top it off, possibly fix it if I can without removing the trans. I am also having some issues with the parking brake sticking and the rear brakes squealing a little. It never ends.

Once my basement is finished, I need to up my bourbon game. We were originally going to have a bar built during the finishing, but decided to instead focus on having more open space. So we are going to be adding some lower cabinets in one area of the basement, and they will be book-ending both a wine fridge and mini fridge. We envision slapping a butcher block on top of that as a sort of serving area for when we have people over. And above that on the wall, we plan on adding some nice shelving for our liquor. So that's when I'll start buying some bottles. I'll have to touch base with you when the time gets closer to pick your brain on some must-haves.

And ended the weekend by sampling a couple bourbons I recently picked up. Both were very good.

They recommended this for the m3 since its designed for older engines. It helps on cold starts since the 10-60 will Im using needs more warm up time and it should quiet my engine down a little. They recommended Cera Tec for the wagon since its a little newer and Im more concerned about fuel consumption in it. I honestly cant say if they work or not but the n52 in the wagon isnt burning oil and thats a common thing on them. They are not BMW specific.

Since I live in GA its often warm and rarely that cold in the winter. I was getting some valve noise when it got hot and this is what LM recommended. Its not a daily and when I do drive it I am fairly hard on it, as long as I let it warm up it should be fine.

I have a 700 rwhp built motor, built head, cammed, 7200 rpm limiter, turbocharged E36M3 and run 0W40. I run 0W40 in my modified E90M3 that uses an 8600 rpm limiter. You definitely don’t need 10W60 in a near stock street driven E36M3. I hope you have an oil temperature gauge so you can verify it is getting up to proper temperature to burn off condensation and contaminants. I have oil temp gauges in both of my M3s.

If your S52 is noisy, figure out why and fix it. Could be vanos needs rebuilding, or chain guides or tensioners, or leaky lifters. Molasses in the motor is not the solution.

If it is a high rpm track car, it is still unnecessary but should not do any harm.

lol, my BMW’s motor loves heavier oil. It keeps the oil pressure up, the oil temp in range where ever I’ve driven it, and analysis by blackstone advises wear is essentially nil for as hard as I drive it. The s54 swaps have gotten way easier over the last few years, nothing says you have to wait for it to blow up first.

The E36 m3 oil debate has gone on since the dawn of time, er early 1994. I have heard everything recommend from 100 weight Rotella to extra virgin olive oil. We aren't going to settle it here. It is very likely that this oil will be drained from the car in 2 years after 1200 miles, at least thats the way the last two oil changes have gone. I am happy with the oil and what I paid, and LM is happy to have the photos. At the end of the day its oil and the s52 is not some tight tolerance LeMans race engine. I appreciate the concern but I pay for the car and maintenance and I will put crisco in it if I so desire. This does not need to be mentioned again, all opinions have be noted.

Sorry, with the twins I have been getting a ton of unsolicited advice and I am getting close to signing off everything. Facebook, insta, forums, pornhub, etc etc.

Speaking of, I put one of the car seats in the wagon last night. Its a little tight but I can make it work. NO.... IT IS NOT TOUCHING THE DRIVERS SEAT BACK, IT IS THE ANGLE OF THE PHOTO. THERE IS ALMOST 2" OF SPACE BETWEEN THEM. Remember the unsolicited advice comment. ...

I also noticed the bezel was a little tight(much like myself) on one of my watches. I checked youtube for a fix and took the watch apart, once it was apart I noticed that there is a whole world of modifications. I really didn't need a new hobby but here we are. I have some parts on the way to mod my watch now.

And finally, last night I cleaned up the M3. As you can probably tell, I need a little stress relief so I am going on a group drive Saturday morning. The best part was no oil drips under the car when I moved it. So its either so thick that it wont move, or I fixed the leak.

If you don't want your seats to get ruined from the car seat, put a seat protector down under the car seat. I got ours on amazon for about $15. It prevents permanent indentations from stretching the leather out.

Yea, it started with the idea of just replacing the scratched bezel on the watch. Then I ordered a new bezel and a dual time pepsi lume insert. Then I noticed the bezel insert on my Fifty Five Fathoms isnt quite correct so I have a lumed version of the Blancpain style one on the way. The bezel on the FFF is a little hard to press back on so I ordered a crystal press. Now I am looking at adding a double dome to my skx009 and maybe changing the chapter ring and movement to something that will hack and hand wind... I have found the rabbit hole.

I ended up not going on my drive Saturday. Friday was rough at work so my wife and I went out for pizza (I had some beers) and walked around our little downtown. They are allowing walking around beers and I have a DD so I had a few more. It was a very nice night and cooler temps so we went back home and sat on the deck, where a couple of more beers met their demise. I ended up sleeping in Sat morning, and drove my wife to the antique shop to check on her booth and get breakfast(they have a restaurant there that makes killer breakfast.) Then I went over to my parents shop to mess with the 02. We started by working on the brakes. I didn't know what I was doing a few years ago when I rebuilt them and they were a little snug. We had to beat on the drum quite a bit to remove them. Here is a video.

Got the brakes back together and I hope adjusted correctly. We then started pulling the driveshaft to attack the trans leak. As you can see, there is a "slight" leak.

Made an order, which wasn't as bad as I thought. Hopefully it will keep my shop floor dry.

I did get the M out for a little cruise Sat nice. Temps were down again and I just drove around aimlessly. It was very relaxing and the car is getting back to where it needs to be. If I refinish the wheels and paint the front clip it will be perfect.

Tonight I am going to start on a detail on the wagon. Its been a year and its picked up some scratches, and I have my new polisher. I will decon it tonight and hopefully tape it and compound Tuesday. I am hoping to have it done by Thursday. The M3 is going to get some daily driving in this week.

I am hoping for some news on the e9 this week. Hopefully no more feistiness.

So as if I needed another hobby my parts came in for my watch. I picked up a coin edge bezel and a new insert.

Pressed the new bezel on with my new crystal press, and glued down the new insert. It came with double sided tape but it was damaged. I cleaned the surface with IPA and put a thin coat of super glue down with a toothpick.

I am probably going to swap out the movement, crystal, hands and chapter ring now. This is going to become and expensive hobby. Haha.

After that I started prepping the wagon for a paint correction. I did it about a year ago but I didn't have a very good compound/polish or a polisher. I picked up some better supplies and a max shine polisher. I didn't get pics but I detailed the engine, washed it down with a strip wash, cleaned the jams and bottoms of the doors really well, sprayed it down with Iron remover and clay barred. I wasn't too bad as far as contamination, but there was a little embedded iron.

I rinsed it down, dried it best I could with the leaf blower and then a towel. I finished the decon wash under the lights at about 9:30 and then pulled it back in the garage. I am loving the lights, I would have to do this over a weekend if I didn't have them.

Once I got the car in the garage I did a little test spot. I was hoping to just do a polish but I think its going to need a two stage. Ill tape it up tonight and hopefully get the compounding step done.
