They are nice and Sears was almost giving them away. $99 for the 204 pc set and like $15 to $20 for the smaller set. I really like the case of the small sets.

The 4 pack bit / driver set is on sale at Lowes for $25, another good buy!

I just got a set yesterday. On sale in store for $249. Price match online for $119.

Ask about the DeWalt $20 off $100 promotion.....that's how my set dropped to $99.

Was not gonna push my luck since I'm not certain they were even supposed to price match it. Already have 1 set also. I wish I knew more people that would appreciate the tools because for a little over a hundred bucks I would give them as gifts all day.

Agreed......the tools I have given away have never been appreciated, so I will be keeping them all to myself. Lol

I love it......CPO has a 20% off DeWalt accessories with a tool purchase and you can stack the $20 off $100 deal. So I picked up the 20 volt band saw and another cart for $308 with free shipping.

Zoro has the cart for around $125 when they run their 30% off sale.

If you are looking for more Toughsystem boxes, you can get the 2 drawer and the XL box plus a filler to get "free shipping" for a little more than $100 at CPO.

No sales tax at either online store is a bonus.

Damn it.. I'm on the verge of buying a few things I don't really need now.. I'm thinking about the new 1/2" brushless impact wrench among other things...

http://www.cpooutlets.com/dewalt-dc...efault,pd.html?start=1&cgid=dewalt-bare-tools

I have the 18v bandsaw but I'd really like to replace it with the 20v one... I don't see it as a bare tool though..

I'm a fan of Dewalt but I bought into the whole 18volt world and now they are onto 20volt. Somewhat annoyed.

The only tool I regret is the 18volt reciprocating saw. The battery life is dismal on it. Should have gotten a corded one.

That's what happened to me as well. They couldn't even make a sled to put new batteries to old tools.

Plus, 20v is actually 18v anyways. Don't get me wrong, they make steller tools, but changeover without support was a **** move.

I don't get these complaints.. They have had the same battery/tool platform for a very long time, are they not supposed to come out with new products?

Besides, they still sell the XRP stuff and no one is forcing anyone to swap..

The 20v name is just to differentiate from the 18V line.. It would be kind of ridiculous to call it old 18v and new 18v..

They call it 18v in europe because they're not allowed to play silly games there. And yes, dewalt themselves still sell the old batteries, but stores are not bringing them in anymore because of the new line they want to push.

You don't have to "get" the complaints, but i hope dewalt see's i've spent over 3000$ with milwaukee because of it.

Who really cares. IR also has a 20v line, Dewalt is not the only tool manufacturer to do that. If you bought into the marketing strategy you'd be doing yourself a favor, so what's the problem? Money well spent on my Dewalt tools

I think the innovation is welcome (whether the 20v is actually 18v, etc aside) but I think they could have made provisions for the new batteries to work with old tools (even if it was just an ugly adapter). For me, I'm "all in" on the 18 volt with the tools and batteries that I own. When I am ready to get into something new (which will **** since I'm sure not all my tools will die at the same time), I'll shop around instead of just sliding into the Dewalt 20v stuff. Might end up being their loss, might not but they opened the door.

It's also important to note that as mentioned above the 18volt batteries are becoming harder to get. I was just at the local HD - they had none on the shelves. They have the 20v and the NiCad ones.

Good looking batteries in the UK.:rocker:

Again, Dewalt makes awesome tools. I just wish they would stop the number games and support their old customers.

People don't seem to realise the new 20v tools and batteries are totally new in the electronic dept, and to make an adapter to fit every single tool and it's electronics and how it works would of cost a fortune... It's easy to say hey they could of made an adaptor in theory but it probably just was not cost effective for them or to the customer

Don't see many complaints from anyone about the absolute dismal tools and batteries Milwaukee put out for years and nearly put them under... Dewalt had the stem pack tools and batteries that were world's ahead of Milwaukee... But time's change and the whole world went to slide packs so did Dewalt...

The support is still there but the market is on slide packs now and that's where Dewalt is going to stay...

The people that wanted to say on the stem packs stayed and the ones who wanted new went slide

My father in law has countless old stem pack tools in the 18v range... He never said a boo and adopted the 20v max tools a few years ago and never looked back

The Dewalt toolboxes are at our local Farm and Fleet. Pretty cheaply made though and I was not really impressed at all other than the color. You got a great deal on them at $100 - Id prob spring fora couple at $100.

I am in for some Dewalt hand tools though. I have the 156pc 1/4-3/8 set, the 1/2 25 piece cocket set, both SAE and metric 1/2 deep well 10 piece socket sets, and the 70 piece screwdriver set. Some from the store, online and CL. All deals.

I also own a Dewalt metal bandsaw, a Dewalt tracksaw with two tracks and clamps, the 10" 717 SCMS, and an xrp 18V set from 1998.
