I picked up the 9 piece set at HD for $499 and also the 1/2" hog ring impact wrench at Sears Hardware for $169 and then used Shop Your Way rewards money to get a compact drill with 2 batteries and a charger and carrying bag along with a set of Crescent long reach needle nose for $51.82 out the door. These are my first Dewalt tools and they seem solid and the bright yellow will probably help with not misplacing them constantly. Next up is building a charge/storage station for all of it.

I just joined the club on a larger scale. I have a 18v drill that my dad gave me when he bought a combo set and that thing has been great. Well a couple of days ago I saw a local ad where a guy was selling the Dck955x combo set new in the box. I paid 450.00 for it and could not be happier. He said he won it in raffle a while back and he doesn't do work with hand tools. The only thing is that it's the 18v set, but for that price I'll be live with it.

Cant see a pic ?

You cant? I see it.... odd

20V Deepcut portable bandsaw

Can't see it either. That's because imgur blocks Garage Journal. Only people able to see the pic will be those, like yourself, who have a temp cookie from imgur on their device. You'll need to use a different image host or else utilize the attach files feature.

I have a couple of DeWalt 18v tools-a 1/2" drill Driver, and a heavy-duty Impact that I used to use to loosen and tighten big Victaulic fittings. The batteries on the impact were long dead, so I got an adapter to use 20v lithium ion batteries in it, and I bought a new 1/2" 20v drill driver. I took the old 18v drill driver to my cottage, where I've been busy remodeling it. I've been using a totally beat-up 14.4 v Milwaukee there, but now I have a backup. I'm happy that DeWalt made this adapter so I can keep using my older tools.

Havent had a chance yet, been out of town. Should find out next week. Can't possibly be any worse than our cordless lincoln.

Is that a Hex Key assisting your anvil hold down spikes?

No lol, just some bar stock I beat into shape, it was the first thing I did to start securing the anvil and decided it wasn't enough and had a bunch of spikes laying around so. I will say it has not moved in years. I am in the process of setting up a new blacksmithing area and I will probably upgrade all that here shortly.

I've noticed the FB tool dealer that is talked about often in the Milwaukee deals thread is putting up Dewalt deals more often now. My be worth checking that out for some of you

VERY nice, the recessed 1/4 chuck in the drill coupled with a stubby bit makes for a seriously compact package.

you might want a bigger battery for the impact though to get through a job without having to keep switching out batteries.
The chuck is also hollow.

I thought the same thing about the impact, but after buying 5.0 batteries, a long time user said they were overkill.

Found this 1/2" Impact Kit at Sears for $99.97. Everywhere else I've looked has it priced at over $200 so seems like a great deal.

I bought one from sears too. power enough for the lug nuts. Just very difficult to put take socket on and off, not sure if there are tricks there
