What about non-yellow DeWalt? Both my saws are currently in pieces being rebuilt/restored. The grey/12" picture was a random Google image and the green 9" is Tim's saw from Lumberjocks.

I think I forgot to post my tripod light!

Guy that liquidates for grainger, etc over in Rockford had a brand new one for $100 -- I had to make the drive. Thing is pretty useful for dark barn corners.

Hmm. Maybe try PayPal?

I did try PayPal too but couldn’t get it to work either. Either way, the attitude on the other end of the phone from that Farm and Fleet call is enough to turn me off any further purchases anyways. Plenty of other options out there!

Back to DeWalt though, looking at getting the Flexvolt compressor next!

David Farmer has some good youtube videos of it in action.

Personally, if a place has the best price I could care less about the one person I happen to interact with.

Loving the new releases. Playing a bit of catchup this month.

I’ve been thinking about picking up a polisher... might have to wait a bit longer!

I decided against the Atomics and picked up the DCK283D2 set for less than the Atomic kit was anyways! Very happy with my drill/impact setup now.

To be clear on the definition of ADDICT...

Trying to own one of everything... you are an addict
Owning two or more of the exact same tool... you are an addict
Combination of the above... you are diamond level addict

I'll never be able to get EVERYTHING -- there's like 240 tools, probably 25 of which are 1/4" impacts :lol_hitti

But, if the pawn shop has them cheap enough :bounce:

It's obvious you are trying... you are a confirmed addict.

This is also supported by the admission you seek out tools just to own them if value priced.

Use caution tho... there is a fine line between addict and the diagnosis of being bipolar.

Lol, read the title of the thread.

I enjoy finding good deals. I could turn around 5 years from now and sell every 20v tool I have -- despite the use -- and make money. An addict is someone who cannot stop; I simply have to reason nor will to :)

Plus, I actually use them. :bounce:

Damn, I guess I'm addicted to every size of screwdriver, combination wrench, ratchet (at least by several brands), bit, drill, clamp, pliers (especially channellock ), etc...

Noticed the DeWalt DCE530 heat gun being advertised in the local tool company's September flyer. Two speeds and a lock on button. Improvement over the Milwaukee

Bought this multitool, DCS355C1 when it went on sale on Amazon for $99

Tool is great but two major gripes:
1 . Listing on Amazon shows the tool with depth adjustment gauge and implies it comes with it

61xnTGW-uwL._SL1000_.jpg

Here is listing, never says it is an extra cost option, even manual discusses it and never says it is an available OPTION

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KMQ9MF2/?tag=atomicindus08-20

2. The second gripe is the BATTERY. No charge gauge! You have no idea what state the battery is in. Luckily i have multiple dewalt batteries. DeWalt gets 1-star for this.

Seems like DeWalt is getting CHEAP here.

I bought the depth gauge separately and it is quite good at and should be standard issue with the tool. Just don't like DeWalt being deceptive here. I jumped on the sale price because i thought i would be getting the depth gauge with it.

Yeah, mine didn't come with the depth gauge either. And with the battery, they all have an indicator besides the cheap 1.5ah (which is what appears in these cheap kits, as you experienced. They never have had them in that economy battery. I suspect the results would be disappointing due to it's small size!)

EDIT: I followed the link on my desktop, and I don't see the depth guide in the picture nor description, so I can't really fault DeWalt here. Plus, they show it being the small ah black battery. I do agree it would be nice, but for the price you got the best tool on the market -- the milwaukee still requries an allen wrench to change blades! :wtf:

That would be the trick if you're doing any amount of wiring. Sadly, not really something I could justify to use once a month unless the deal presents itself (@ above poster :lol_hitti)

The picture I posted was from the set of pics posted with the item on Amazon. Usually (& this makes too much sense) if you are showing an item with an OPTIONAL item you include a note to show it is a non-included option, not to mention the description clearly mentions the depth gauge as well. This complaint extends to the owners manual which shows the depth gauge as well and doesn't mention it is an option.

Ah, I see what you mean now.

Yes, that is a little shady. Unfortunately, they all use stock photos.

Picked up these the other day, haven't used them yet but they get good reviews

and charger.
The Dcs391B was 129.00 came with a free 3.0 battery & Charger as well, probably going to return this free battery and charger and that makes the saw 73.00

Question for you addicts. I picked up the 12V Max Xtreme brushless combo kit a week ago. I noticed the impact driver has a bit of a chuck wobble. It's not terrible but noticeable. It's my only gripe so far with this kit. From what I've read this is common among Dewalt's line of impact drivers?

ALL: I picked up a Dewalt 18v nailer and it works great and has hardly been used. it only had one battery so I picked up a Dewalt rotohammer with 2 batteries.

are the old Dewalt 18v batteries as bad as the old Ryobi 18v batteries were before they upgraded them? also I see that Dewalt now has a 20v as their batteries so what is the best solution to getting new batteries for my Dewalt tools if the ones I own **** out?

sorry I only had pics of my Dewalt nailer and i'll post the rotohammer later.

thoughts?

Your best long term bet is getting the DeWalt 18 to 20v adapter and using the new style batteries. Yes, all old Nicads ****, especially now that they're likely 10+ years old. You can rebuild them either nicad or li-ion, but it's probably cheaper, and more future proof, to do the adapter.

DCA1820 is the part no.

Nice kit. My 887 (20v brushless 3 speed) has a hair of wobble, slightly less than a different 887 I also had, but more than my original 1 speed 20v. So, in a nut shell, it likely depends. It's an impact tho, not a lathe, so a little runout doesn't mean anything to me. Especially b/c whatever you chuck in it will have considerably more by virtue of the quick change chuck (any brand).

Much appreciated. I really hope Dewalt expands this brushless 12v line to compete with Milwaukee and the like.

Yeah, I thought DeWalt was going to completely abandon 12v when the atomic came out, but I was wrong. Milwaukee was probably right to use the stem style battery in the 12s, however it complicates the chargers. DeWalt is rolling with some nice new 20v products, and hopefully we see a lot more specialty goods coming down the pipeline soon for the fall season.

How is Dewalt when it comes to bigger battery releases? For example, what are the chances they release a 4Ah for this new 12v brushless line? They already have a 3Ah available for $50. Think Milwaukee maxes out at 6Ah for the M12 line. Wouldn't mind a little more oomph out of the impact driver with a bigger battery, though I know it won't compete with the M12 Fuel Gen 2 in power (not that I ever expected that).

I'm not sure on the 12 volt. Haven't really paid it much attention until the recent developments. I would imagine with the new cells they're using in 20v to make a 3ah the size of a 2 that it's very possible. WittHay would be the guy to ask there!

I do see generic 4.0s

Strayed from a herd a bit today. Which is fine -- DeWalt doesn't make the stick vac, or backpack sprayer, yet.

attachment.php

I like this, surprised more powertoolcompanies did not have this before now, their removable battery technology is way ahead of traditional vac companies. My Mrs got the rechargeable Dyson version a few years back and it is an absolute steaming POS in terms of both build quality and rubbish non removeable battery. Would love to see Dewalt one.
