I think for $100 I'd take the chance. Mine is loaded down but pretty still; the handles seem stout. Granted, you're filling in the densest possible manner, but I doubt you'll grenade a handle. I could see a clamp failing if you pick up by the top.
Thanks. It's weird, I see lots of reviews on Dewalt's site & on Amazon with pics showing the side handles breaking & cracking the side of the box. When I went to look at them again in person after seeing this I could see how & why they would break. Not much support. But I couldn't find anyone on here with the same experience. Maybe they overloaded them I don't know, many claim they weren't but of course who knows.
I think I'm just gonna disable them by fastening them down to the sides so they can't be pulled out. Will still give me some grip to be able to pick up the box if needed. Mainly just in case if someone other than me tries to pick one up. I don't really care about using the side handles, just don't want them cracking the sides of the box.
They won't ever get transported, just for storage & will only get moved around in my garage every so often.
