Any opinion on the flex head ratchets? I have the 1/4" and it hardly gets used but is nice when it does. I know a 3/8 or 1/2 would get used a lot more than the 1/4 I have. Are they worth it or should I just wait and save for something that locks or has detents?

There's got to be a dozen threads about them in the last month on this board alone.

Anyone know anything about a new breaker bar? I noticed in the latest flyer I got in the mail that it had one more breaker bar listed than usual. It's another 1/2" drive that's 25" long but it's shown as the "professional" version, and with a comparable price of $127.30???

It doesn't show up with a search on the website unless you search the item# http://www.harborfreight.com/12-in-drive-25-in-professional-breaker-bar-62729.html

I took a look at it today. It has the comfort grip and the swivel head was more compact. Not sure if it's worth double.

I would like to see this one. The huge swivel head was always something that kept me from buying the old breaker bar.

Bought a 4in vise a couple years ago, pulled the threads right out of the main body in less than a week of use, and it wasn't used very hard ...... :shocking: :shocking:

Central Pneumatic 20 gauge wide crown stapler: PASS!

I got it to install a seat cover on a Yamaha Blaster. I've only used it once and will probably only use it 2 or 3 times a year, so I can't testify to the long term reliability. Looks to be a nice quality tool and worked great for my needs. Got it for $20 +tax with the 20% off coupon. (Also got the free tape measure:)).

Maybe it's just me, but the instructions were a little vague on how to load the staples. Thought it was a piece of junk at first, until I figured out I was loading the staples wrong. Loaded them correctly and good to go!

Next to last pic shows where to load. Last pic shows where NOT to load.

I have that same stapler and have loved it for a about a year and half!
Only problem I have found is finding staples for it.

I give the under-hoist tripod jack stands a conditional PASS. Make sure that all of the pasrts are in the easily damaged boxes. Instructions have an error about which end of the small, silver middle support brackets goes to the center ring. And the screw-up pad doesn't actually screw up and down very far (only about 8 inches). Other than that, these should do the trick for most things if you need to support things coming off your car on a hoist or over a pit.

I have heard that their torque wrenches were junk, but then again for $9.99 it worth a try.

I tryed one about a year ago. It was new still in the clear plastic wrap so no one played with it and like you said it was junk. Maybe I got a bad one, idk. But mine was ****. Didn't matter what I did it would jam and whatnot. I took it back the next day.

A $10 torque wrench?

I'd rather throw the $10 in the street and watch the cars run over it.

I like my $15 1/2 in drive. For jobs that don't require tons of precision (i.e. wheel install), they are far from terrible. Not sure if I would be able to find a use for a 1/4 drive though.

Do you have one of those? Or just bashing for no reason?.
I have one, and it tests pretty close to a 70 dollar craftsman. Either of them could be off by a little.

I just picked up the 3/8 and 1/2 this week. Almost picked up a 1/4 as well, just not sure how much use I'd really get out of it though. $10 or not, usually when working with 1/4 sockets slightly tight usually works.

Like others have said, I picked them up to get me in the ball park. I won't be using them for precision jobs, but I never do precision jobs around the house anyways.

Interesting thought process...

Probably won't use it much either, hense no wanting to drop a lot of coin on something that's going to sit anyway. If anything it will be for torquing accessory bolts on my truck's engine.

All the reviews I have read make it out to be a decent little wrench.

Most all of my Harbor Freight tools, ( with the exception of sandpaper and the butane pencil torch (major piece of junk) have been great. I have NEVER broken a socket, wrench, ratchet handle or breaker bar , which is more than I can say for Craftsman or even Snap-on. I have a Chicago Electric 1/2" electric impact gun that I have had and used HARD for better than 10 years (it even got left out in the rain once) and is still going strong!!

Agreed. I use mine for torquing wheels and it works fine.

I'll third that, I've compared the 3/8 to a cman click and a couple of cman beam and it's right on the money. Don't know where people are buying them wrapped in plastic but all of my HF came in a case.

I needed to torque a crank bolt to 300lbs and used their 3/4" and it was right on when I hung my fat **** on it at 185, given it has 3% error stated on the package for 300#. For the sockets and wrench under a $100 it was a no brainer rather than trying to find one to rent.

I now have a HF for every size of Cman in my box, cheap insurance IMO.

Anyone have an opinion on the 1/4 in. Drive Click Type Torque Wrench?

Anyone know where I can get the $9.99 coupon? I checked the hfqpdb site but didn't see any.

http://www.harborfreight.com/14-in-drive-click-type-torque-wrench-61277.html
Slightly off topic here, but I just try to spread the info that hfqpdb.com is no longer as complete in coupons as it once was. The man who uploaded the vast majority of the coupons is no longer able to do it.
I for one am trying to do my part and contribute, and I'm hoping others will do the same because it's a fantastic resource.

Thanks for the feedback on this stapler! I have been thinking of buying this one for a minute, for the same purposes. I want to find stainless staples for dirt bike seat covers. Any luck on stainless staples for this stapler?

Rubber Wheel Chock,
I bought 2 of these to chock my 6x12 box trailer for moving, they really hold tight. I think I am gonna add a nylon pull strap to them and they will ride in my trailer full time. Long term durability is yet to be determined.

The 1/2 torque wrench has never given me problems. For wheels, wheel bearings, and other external from the engine repairs it's perfect and price is right. Cheaper then renting.

Harbor freight 7 amp electric pole saw

item#68862

Great item

$63 with coupon, picked one up and after a bit of trial and error to find the right chain tension pruned up a couple hard maples. Cut through 6" limbs easy.

Worked so well I used it to buck em for firewood rather then getting the real chainsaw out.

NO idea on lifespan, but lasted this job fine, and its worth 60 bucks to not be playing with a manual pole saw for hours, or playing with a chainsaw on a ladder.

It never even crossed my mind to use stainless steel staples. But yeah, that's a good thought. I just used the 1/4" long staples from HF.

Used again to day-had to open up wifes recliner to do some repairs. Bazillion staples-As to finding staples for it, any hardware store-uses any T50 staple (5/32" to 5/8").

ammo-box-61451
Pass: Small but perfect to store above stapler and all its assorted staples. Should have picked up a couple more.

47844 Folding Clamping Workbench with Movable Pegs - Fail (possible tbd).
Yes it cost me $16, but pisses me off that it came out of the box broken. The particle board top was smashed a bit but I have to bring it back because one of the handles was snapped in half. I was expecting a POS but not even fixable is annoying considering I live far away from a HF and it was the last one in stock. From what I saw in the first few minutes, the tolerances are pretty high. The metal pieces are bent to loose specs so that the holes don't really line up. Support brackets are pretty far from 90 degrees. The ruler markings were faded already. Again, it's $16 but my bar was already low and it still failed. But, I'm probably going to roll the dice and exchange for another because I really just want an occasional saw table. Really just need it to stand up and hold 20 lbs. I hope next one meets those minimal requirements.

I like the top of that thing for certain light uses. If you get a top that's in good condition anyway. I took the legs off mine and bolted the top to the folding side shelf on my cart.

61849 Flux Core Welder; Pass. I bought the old blue one, gave it to a friend as payment for some home repairs, and have borrowed it back to start a go kart frame for my boys. The friend built a few 55 gallon drum smokers with it and I've made lots of material storage carts when I first owned it. Works fine.
