1/4 inch drive deep torx socket set. PASS. has E4-E10. have used this set a few times lately , the fact they are deep meant not needing an extension. combined with the HF 1/4 inch drive swivel head ratchet I picked up they worked great.

I believe its a Milwaukee replica but I picked up the Earthquake 12v mini polisher for $89 with a coupon a few weeks ago and I love it. Use it every chance I get.

Actually its the same tool as the AC Delco ARS1214 G12 series 2 speed polisher

There's also a 1212 with only one VSR range

Its a nice tool, I actually tried to get one because of that price over the Milwaukee 2 speed polisher/sander, and held a rain check for months on it.

But my store never ever had one in stock so I gave up and eventually did get the actual Milwaukee as a bare tool with accesories on a Black Friday sale for not much more money seeing I already had plenty of M12 batteries and chargers.

BTW all the Earthquake offerings at HF can be matched to the AC Delco series of tools

This set is a fail as the 3/8 to 1/4 adapter snapped off on first use:

https://www.harborfreight.com/40-Pc-38-in-14-in-Drive-SAE-Metric-Socket-Set-62843.html

Sockets and ratchet seem OK, might be a bit much to "compare" this to a Snap On set though as HF now seems to do a lot.

Ha that's the got to be cheapest socket set in the world. I don't think that it's changed from the 1970's except then they had a blue or green painted metal box :lol_hitti

I see the price is up over $5.00 WOW :eyecrazy:

Used to be $4.99 sometimes get a $1.00 off ITC too.

I flip them on my flea mkt tool table for 10 spot :pimpflash

12V LED trailer light kit

64337 or 64275

I bought this set last time they were on sale and rewired my small 4x8 trailer. Love it. The old lights were incandescent and in pretty rough shape with broken/cracked housings/lenses.

Love these. I've had them on the trailer for a couple of months now and they work great. They are WAY brighter than the old lights. These were a direct replacement for the old original lights. So I guess that the bolt hole spacing on light mountings must be pretty standard.

They are currently on sale for $29.99 through 1/20/20 in the email coupon I just received. You guys probably get in same one in email.

You managed to pick the absolute bottom tier sockets & ratchet at HF. Not only will it not compare to Snap On, it won't even compare to the basic Pittsburgh Pro sockets that they sell. 40 pieces for $5.99 what did you expect?

These are more expensive than the comparable Pittsburgh, but I've used the snot out of them over the past couple weeks and plan on buying more. The clamp nicely and release smoothly. Definite PASS.

https://www.harborfreight.com/11-in-swivel-pad-c-clamp-locking-pliers-63865.html

It's simple, but also a PASS. I chuckled that the 4ft pipe I put them on was more expensive than the clamp. I also plan on buying a couple more of these.

That's the type of set you could pick up in any department store going back 50 years or more even before China started making tools. First socket set I ever owned. Always came in a metal then later plastic case and always came with the plastic spinner wheel.

The time I attempted to use it, it was a major fail. My Kastar set (the one the HF was copied from) worked like a champ.

Must have gotten one made on a Friday. I've had my HF one for close to 7 years. Hasn't failed yet. Even the cheapo case (red back in the day) is still in one piece. That one's a pass from me. Maybe I got lucky?

Picked to the Fortress ultra quiet 1 gal air compressor. $112

Built very solid, well designed and for sure runs quiet, pumped up to 135psi is about 60 seconds. Gauges look sharp and regulator works solid. Nice power cord and hooks to wrap up for transport.

Bummer that the tube frame was mis-formed enough, so only 3 feet sat on the floor, unit would rock, although it did not even flinch, when pumping up.

It would have functioned just fine, but I was annoyed, so we took the unit back for a replacement, which sits just fine.

Pass in spite of having to swap out one unit.

How did you feel the noise level was, in general and compared to the noise level of similar compressors? I'm looking for something small I can use with an air gun to blow out electronics (primarily computers) and it's annoying to run out of canned air at inopportune times, not to mention having some concerns about the chemical itself being released. I know a datavac is also an option, but I figure an indoor air compressor also opens up the possibility for using our nailgun without moving the larger garage compressor indoors (which is also noisy as hell in a room with exposed block walls).

Compared to the usual air compressors, you can barely hear it run, seriously.

IMO it would work great for what you intend.

At one time HF, (at least some stores) had a live "demo" you could turn on and hear run.

That's what sold me, plus it seems very well built. I got it to carry around the driveway to pump u,p tires, but it will drive finish nails, so I'll use it in the basement for that job.

Almost went for the 2 gal, but that's an extra 11 pounds to tote around. :lol_hitti

There's a vid at HF and it compares it to a Husky noise wise.
You can refill those canned air cans (or any rattle can) with any compressor and a tubeless tire valve...google it.

Needed an oscillating multi tool for a quick job, so I picked up the new Hercules model. $90, comes with a bag, a couple of blades, sanding head/pads and an extra arbor.

Seems hefty (as most the ones on Lowes) and the blade lock mechanism works well. Cut great but got a bit warm and had to force cuts. Come to find out I was running it has too high of speed (6)and not "working" the blade enough to keep sawdust cleared, dulling the blade quickly. Should have got the book "Oscillating Multi Tool use for Dummies!" :lol_hitti

New blade and it was going to town. Not a lot of vibration and since with my tinnitus every high rpm power tool is loud, so I wore hearing protection (as everyone should).

Nothing really to dislike about it. Seem like it should last. Could have got 1yr replacement or $20, 2yr $32. I'll used it rarely, so I rolled the dice.

PASS.

PITTSBURGH Pro 1/4 In. Drive Quick Release Swivel Head Ratchet
https://www.harborfreight.com/1-4-quarter-inch-quick-release-swivel-head-ratchet-96781.html

Bought my 1st HF ratchet. The 1/4 swivel. I'll try it for a while and see how I like it. I went with the Taiwan Pro instead of the Icon because of the price difference. Didn't really see much of a difference between the two to warrant the much higher price of the ICON.
The Taiwan Pro was $8 after $5 off coupon.

Fail:
QUINN Diamond Tip Screwdrivers, 6 Pc.
https://www.harborfreight.com/diamond-tip-screwdrivers-6-pc-56198.html

Maybe this screwdriver is for driving at a wide 30 degree angle around the fastener. :eek7:

Although it is a manufacturing defect, I think they are terrible screwdrivers for a lot of reasons... poor fit, stupid diamond coating (especially ridiculous on the 0 Phillips), sharp edged ridge on the handle, cheap steel, etc. The same applies to the similar drivers sold as Husky, Craftsman, and others.

It's funny how Harbor Freight used to advertise "compare to Husky" but then HomeDepot dropped the price so Harbor Freight changed it to "compare to Duralast. Maybe Home Depot should start advertising that their price beats Harbor Freight. :lol_hitti

Did you ever try to unscrew a bent screw? That's what that's for.

Nah, they know you'll use a screwdriver to scrape gaskets so they included one with the angled tip. Also handy for punching holes through metal, like paint cans with stuck lids. :)

PASS. Their wire pliers rack is good for the money. It would be hard to screw those up. I'll probably buy another one today. Sorry no link, my post count isn't high enough.

I assume you’re talking about the metal base with red plastic dividers. I agree, I do like the fact you can remove the little end cap off the base and remove a divider if you want to. The dividers are hard to adjust, but that is a good thing since you don’t want them moving around once loaded. I located mine along the front of my bottom cart drawer. I put the pliers head in the holder with the handle sticking out. I may rethink that solution after a little time using it.

HF also sells this rack, which I’ve owned and used for about 6 months. Absolutely love them, and the price was awesome (about $8 after coupon). Huge PASS for me.

Bought my 1st HF ratchet. The 1/4 swivel.

Bought mine with a green & black handle a year and half ago. In my book it's a pass.

But I see they've changed the metallurgy of the drive to chrome moly. Probably a down-grade for me. Probably an up-grade for jerks that jerk on ratchet handles instead of gradually increasing pull.

It appears to me that the tip may not be slanted - that just the diamond coating is slanted across the top?

Braun 4 ft. LED Shop Light 64410 - PASS

These have probably been mentioned before but they are great lights and often on sale for $20 each. Even at full price they are worth every cent, I wish I bought these a long time ago. You have no idea how bad your garage lighting is until you have good lighting.
