I received my pair today as well. I haven't put them to real use yet, but so far I'm impressed. Finish is nice, good positive engagement with the Craftsman sockets I've got at home, sharp defined angles for wrench grip, and I love the knurling! My only slight critique is they aren't stamped "Made in USA," that ought to be a badge of honor in the world of increasingly outsourced tools. If you guys decide to expand with 1/4 and 1/2 sizes you can count me in!

Got my HEXtension. Love it!

It's really an intricately made, well-engineered, very thoroughly thought-out tool, and the finish is gorgeous. The price is very reasonable for a US-made specialty tool of this quality.

I'm really going to hate to get this thing dirty...


To the folks at Logica: nicely done, and I hope you sell a few million of 'em. Somehow I bet you have a few other ideas up your sleeves. Can't wait to see them.

Hahaha, I have to salute you, sir.

Believe me, if I could sell them to you all for $2 a pop I would, but after I sold three we'd be shutting down.

And yes, we really wanted to get 'USA' etched on them, but unfortunately that detail slipped through as we were handling the pile of things that needed to be done to bring these to market.

That being said, thank you all so much for the compliments and warm regards. It really is an awesome feeling to see this coming to fruition. As always, we're here to help you, so never hesitate to contact us if your tool gives you any grief.

Screwed up my shots, but this is still a better look at them than most.

I'll re-shoot for a better look tomorrow. I had some great ones, but the camera was in the car, and was just too cold to do what I wanted. The lighting was right, but it's just not showing up properly.

GJ has been the single biggest influence on this tool, bar none. We have sales from various forums, but you guys have shown the most support and interest. More than that, we've also had the most input here, both positive and negative, which we could never have done without. It let us focus in on what was important as we went through I believe *seven* model revisions.

I plan on taking some photos of our old prototype to share, including the ones that, uh.... exploded. Amusing steps along the road of R&D.

I wanted to get some shots that highlighted the quality of craftsmanship.

Nothing was working right last night, and I just ended up using that silly red background. I'm better than that.

That's enough of that, though.

I think it would be great to see the prototypes on the site, and especially the ones that broke. That's the best part of the road to perfection. It shows dedication and the guts to illustrate that a product didn't just pop into existence perfect.

I also want to note that I love the warranty text. That's my favorite kind to see. It's not twenty pages long, and it's to the point. No BS; just faith in the product and respect for the consumer.

These'll get a workout as soon as I'm feeling better. For now, it's just staring at them and dreaming of the few places I know I'm going to use them.

I finally went to my shop to pick them up. Holy **** these are nice. Fit my ratchets really well. I have a few SO, husky, craftsman usa, all fit really nice. Threw them in my toolbox with the other extensions. These will be my go to extensions from now on. Love everything about them. Have to wrench on my car suspension soon. Going to get them propper dirty then. Only thing that I don't like in all of this, is that they don't have the made in USA stamped into them. Will be sending them in for warantee service when the next version gets the made in USA on them.

I can't find the plating information buried in this thread. Is it hard chrome? It sure photographs like hard chrome; lighting is very difficult to get right. I do like that plating tech, though.

Here's one more close up shot for prospective buyers. I know it's a tool, and not a model, but it's nice to see something like this isolated from surroundings. Not my greatest work, but it gets the point across:

I won't add anymore photographic clutter. I just thought the thread needed a cool shot of the tool as delivered, right out of the package.

For anyone who's curious, a lot of care has been put into this tool. There are no sharp edges to catch on anything or prevent ease of engagement. Everything is smooth where it needs to be for strength, as well.

One of my favorite parts is the ball detent. It's perfectly sized, and the spring rate is spot-on. It's solid enough to hold a socket when removing from a buried fastener, but not too strong to make removing that socket from the extension with greasy hands difficult.

That knurling is in just the right spot, too, and done very well. Overall, from an engineering and design perspective, these things have delivered.

Still too sick to use them, but I have a feeling I'm going to love the things.

Wanted to give you guys a bit of a positive feedback.

First of all, I absolutely love this set. I have a lot of low torque fasteners on my BMW. These extensions work great for that alone. I put it on a wrench, break the **** loose, and take off the wrench. The amount of grip I get with these is amazing. The way it holds the socket is also great. I needed to take off the engine covers on my car, and the clearance is small. I slipped the shorty into a ratcheting box end, and it worked like a charm. Great job guys. Lots of nice features. My go to extension these days.

I know it's been a year since the last post, but was curious how the extensions have been holding up. Just found out about the Hextensions off of another thread in GJ. Googled Logica, and not surprisingly found this thread with over 20 pgs of discussion as well as the website.

For those that purchased the extensions last year, do you have any feedback or updates? Is the company still active?

i am happy with mine. can't say i have ever used a wrench on one but they are well made and the hex shape and knurling are easy to grip and turn. i don't use them exclusively but fairly frequently.

i am a little disappointed that they seem to have fallen off the earth so to speak. the journal and the gazette pretty much got them off the ground and there has been no follow up. i would guess that maybe the demand just isn't there to continue to promote it. too bad, it is a good idea and a good tool. unlike so many other people who try to promote their new whiz bang idea.

anybody remember the spin-wrench?

too bad, as you are wrong. in long time service, my hextensions have held up well and i use them frequently. not exclusively but frequently.

the knurling and hex shape work well. other brands use knurling or a shape that can accept a wrench but none of them do it better. they also have lengths that are slightly different than other extensions, another plus. simply put, they are an extension that does things just a little better and can make jobs a little easier.

they are another tool in the arsenal, just like locking and or wobble extensions. they don't solve every problem and you may not use them all of the time but when you do you are darn glad you have them.

as i said several posts above this one and over 2 years ago. i applaud these guys for putting out a quality tool that does what it promises. comparing this product to the spin wrench, bionic wrench, multifit garbage that gets thrown at us every holiday or any other time is flat out wrong. i will call those products out any and every time for the bs that they are.

the hextension is the real deal and i wish it was available in more drive sizes and lengths.

Iused it a few times in a very tough spot where it worked well for the application. Its not one of those tools you need every day, but when you need it you are glad you got it.

sk and other brands have knurling on the shank. some have it on the female drive end.

triangle tools had an extension with 2 flats for a wrench and vertical grooves on the female drive end.

i don't know of anyone who has made anything quite like it.

i have examples of all three. let me see if i can come up with a pic.

Previous public use and exclusivity were always my contentions against the thing.

not sure of your question on other brands. the first pic is of a triangle extension with the 2 hextensions. the triangle has 2 flats and some vertical ridges but has no relief, knurling or raised ring.

the second pic is comparing lengths of the hextension, triangle and sk with straight, wobble and locking ends. all of the sk having knurling on the shaft.

as you can notice, the hextensions are unique in shape, length and features

I've used mine many times. As noted above, it might not be something you need every single day, but it's a useful added tool in the arsenal.

I only bought the longer one, and I really wish I also had one of the short ones. So if they start up again or anyone wants to sell a shorty...

The one added feature I've wished for is a wobble end; in situations with "unique" access needs, you often also need a few degrees of angle. There have been times I've reached for the Hextension and not been able to use it because of this.

I have the short and long, use them now and again, especially when I need to turn something only using my fingers. It is something you don't think about until the need arises, and it has.

A wobble end version would be a great idea!
