Im want one of these as well. I think this is a better kit? Yes / No?

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauke...-M12-3-8-in-Ratchet-2404-22-2457-20/205044494

Its good deal for sure if your needing a drill/driver
And its a very fine tool.

I guess it depends on what tool you want or whatever is more useful. The 2454 impact wrench kit has always had a higher price tag.

There was a point you could have got the 2597 2pc kit the hammerdrill also with impact driver PLUS the ratchet free tool for $199. That was probably the best deal ever :D

That kit is $229 now

http://www.acmetools.com/shop/tools/milwaukee-2597-22-m12-fuel-drill-kit

FYI anybody seen just how many 2597 and 2594 kits are for sale on EBAY right now! :scared:

Awwwwww yeah [emoji41]

Not all rainbows and unicorns though...the 9" ones on the left are definitely defective. The locking levers are wicked sloppy/crooked and the locking loop threads are trashed...weird. Emailed Milwaukee for replacements, we'll see. I'm THOROUGHLY impressed with everything else though [emoji106] these things smoke my Irwins.

Wow HD really dropped the ball on this one...

Ship to home was showing March 10th so I did that instead of Ship to store, the order sat in processing for 2 days and they updated me today saying March 14th...thanks HD...

Horeee Shitoru! That's quite the spread. I just bought the 7" and 10" locking plier to check them out and am happy with the feel of them so far but you dove in head first!

Haha yeah. I had 2 that were gifted to me a few Christmas's ago and to be honest I didn't want to like them. They aren't "the original" and nothing screams Milwaukee fan boy like getting a bunch of their non-core things (IMO). I couldn't lie to myself anymore. These things are just way nicer to use than the Irwins. I'm very happy. They are killer...and just so happen to be Milwaukee (that's what I keep telling myself)

I stop using from HD for reasons like that.

Plus have added sales tax.

And they use UPS too...
Seemed like it was always on slow boat from China.

Also very poor Customer Service

Those have my experiences YMMV :D

I like ACME best these days most times price match plus there are manufacturer promotional discounts that can often be stacked with percentage off sales. May also save on the sales tax depending on your location and I get FedEx delivery a much better service for me. Customer service is very good. ACME represents a lot of brands offers a majority of Milwaukee products and also carries Sunex tools too at pretty good prices too.

CPO is often times my second option

It might change, mine initially said the 14th or 15th and then updated to the 9th. Shows delivered on the site. Still no charge in my bank account though. Was there but disappeared a couple days ago.

I was looking at it for the 3/8 ratchet and the smaller drill driver for my RC cars. They had tons of screws with really fine threads. Im tired of using a screwdriver on them. I also figured it came with a regular M12 battery and the other is a High Capacity.

This will be my first Milwaukee. My other idea is to purchase the Tool only HD has it for $79.00 then get the rapid charger and battery from Amazon. The charger and battery's are so much less.

I think any M12 tool is too much for RC cars, when I use to build a lot of them I used a 4v lithium screwdriver and at times that was too much power.

When are the Milwaukee hammers gonna be available?

I watched a video review from a guy that bought the new hardtop rolling tool bag. The thing was like $280.. that is just ****** insane.. I think Milwaukee is getting a bit greedy with some of these prices.. no reason why things like the lights should just suddenly drop $100 in price after a few months.. and no reason why a tool bag should be more than half the tools they make either..

Anyway, for those RC cars you would be better off with something like the M4 screwdriver.. the ratchet and m12 screwdriver is total overkill for a small 1/10 scale car.. unless you have like a 1/4 scale car - a cheap lithium driver from ANYONE would be a good choice.

Speaking of the M4 - I wish they'd make some more stuff for that platform.. seems like it's a missed opportunity for small flashlights, hardhat lights, cell phone charger, ect..

If Milwaukee ever made a job site cell phone like Dewalt has, I think I'd be all over that - but Milwaukee would probably want $1,000 for it..

Well I am not attempting to talk you out of that combo deal and if you need a Fuel drill driver and really want the ratchet :D

And if you were to piece together a kit plus purchase a ratchet bare tool separately consider you do get a lot for the money with that Fuel pkg.

But I can offer up some other less expensive starter tool options if your interested and seeing your looking at a first purchase, they maybe more in line to what you can also use for your hobby. Sometimes not everyone needs pro level fuel tools for that they do and do note the Fuel drill isn't a lightweight tool by any means.

Now I find the 1/4 hex screwdrivers that Milwaukee offers are fantastic tools for doing lots of screws. They all have adjustable clutches so that lessens the chance of over torqueing things.

There are 3 current models on the market (actually 4 if you count the original version of the 2401 like I have)

And the absolute best bang for your buck would be the updated 2401-21 kit at ACME its only $69!
May be the same price others places too but I haven't looked.

You get the tool, charger 1 battery and storage bag. Quite a starter kit really and its currently being marketed from Milwaukee for even less than the bare tool itself.

http://www.acmetools.com/shop/tools/milwaukee-2401-21

The 2402 two speed Fuel Hex screwdriver actually has the same body as the Fuel drill just with a different chuck. It is lighter and very well balanced comparing to the longer and heavier 3 jaw chuck ratcheting chuck versions, and it did come with a free ratchet too was even $10 less yet but looks to be sold out at HD

There is also a 2 speed brushed version similar to the new 2401 that's the 2406.

There is one other great deal that was around and seems to be in very limited quantities though now and that is this kit its the original 2401 hex driver like I have Another great starter kit,

http://www.toolbarn.com/milwaukee-2...rm=&utm_campaign=Shopping(BSC)&utm_medium=cpc

And you can still drill with all these but you do need the hex shanked drill bits.

And if it is hammer drill/driver you still decide your needing this 2408-21 brushed M12 version is a very nice and useful drill. And that is at a great price right now too.

DFB Thank you for all of this fantastic information.

What started my quest is just wanting a Battery Ratchet. At my work we have an awards program and I have a ton of points and was going to get the ACDelco Durofix company that makes all of ACDelco cordless tools. I am told they are great but their ratchet is very big. SO After reading here Milwaukee seems the way to go. I never thought about that using the M12 stuff would be to powerful for the RC cars. Great point.
But now it seems like the Milwaukee bug has bit me. I have never had anything from Milwaukee tools. My family was in sears for ever and so it was Craftsmen or Dewalt. Well I guise you can never have to many tools!! Right?:spit:

Believe or not my first Milwaukee M12 tool purchase WAS the brushed M12 hammer drill.

The older 2411 model as a -22 kit from CPO for $99

My second purchase was an original 2401 hex screwdriver bare tool I bought from amazon for about $40

Just went looking and there are some new ones available right now for just over $50 /free shipping.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00VYNEEZO/?tag=atomicindus08-20

And my original 2462 impact driver was an HD holiday special. The -22 kit was reduced to $79.00 that Christmas.

Then there was the M12 radio with a free 2410 drill, 2 batteries, charger and soft bag $129 also thru HD. That 2492-22 kit is still out there at $189 list
CPO

New in box 2415 RA drill from Amazon $40
New BT speaker $40

Ratchet came as full -21 kit, 1 battery charger, nice storage case CPO had sale was like $119 delivered

Got the original 2463 3/8" brushed impact wrench bare tool was about $84 bare tool with discounts, CPO along with some other places have that for $99 now I see

And somewhere in there I bought a LED flashlight too!

I use all these at my job

Then 2 years later I started on the Fuels...
for my garage! :D

Its been an addiction ever since

Of course now there's the stick light, rover light, spotlight etc.

And that's just M12

Don't plan on drilling much w the single speed 2401. Too slow.

I'd go for the 2 speed Fuel. This is all assuming you must have 1/4" hex.

Otherwise I dunno if the original 2410 3/8" drill is still out there but they were tanks. The updated 2407 is great, too.

I kinda need a new hoodie.....does anyone have any insight on the best clearance deals right now on heated gear? This seems to be about the right time of year. Kit or a-la-carte, I don't care.

$89 CPO is best hit I got right now. Looks like they have plenty of grey ones M /L /XL

Seems like whenever they really deep discount hoodies the sizes are always limited...

to like 2x :D

Haha just looking online 2410 kits are collector items! Being listed for more money than the new models. CPO shows some recons bare tools at like $68 but who would really bother with that? :headscrat

The 2411 is like extinct!

Single speed 2401's are small not going to be building decks with them for sure, but they generally are enough for a lot of household chores and really do make a good bench tool especially for assembly/disassembly like with electronics

I do have the Fuel Hex screwdriver too. I find it very powerful for driving wood screws and I often prefer it over using the impact driver especially indoors just because its quieter.

I have never bought any 1/4 hex shank drill bits yet, though I had some free ones. A carpenter I know he buys the HF kits and all he wants is like three sizes from it and doesn't care all the rest?? so tells other guys to take them. I tried them but found most of them are crooked and they vibrate heavily. They're allright for some rough holes. I think 1/4 was the largest anyhow. I'm glad I didn't buy them :p

Even get spade style bits in hex shank now...I have to wonder about that some in a hex bit driver. Though I have my eye on the Milwaukee shorty spades especially for with the RAD.

Oh I forget the M12 brushed Hackzall and heated hoodie were early purchases too...right up there with the radio! :D

You need the M18 Surge. It's really amazing to have the power advantage of an impact driver with very little noise. Because it's hydraulic it's more of a soft "tick, tick, tick."

So yea I been thinking about one. :p

Curious how does the size stack up to the 2753...is it smaller?

Or maybe there's still hope for an M12 version yet :D

The collection is growing...

Couldn't help myself. Needed (wanted?) a SCMS for a long time, and the deal with two 9.0 batteries was too good to pass up.

09dedc074f82dfed72e93da7bfa09a46.jpg the feel and quality drop significantly compared to the individual packed knife. It's dull as heck too, 20 min of sharpening and it's razor sharp now. But still feels very plasticky. But can't complain for the price.

And it's cheaper now 06e83776a95b5c940373846d7b890136.jpg

I bought the big new m12/m18 Bluetooth speaker at HD today. It says it is the loudest and clearest. It sounds nice, but it is not that loud. I am keeping it, though.

Sweet! Let us know what you think. I've been strongly tempted many times to ditch my garbage Bosch glider for one of those.

Here it is...

It's bigger than I thought it would be at least compared to the drawers and that motor. Maybe someday I'll upgrade from the little M12 bluetooth speaker, though it works great for my needs.

It's smaller yes. Pretty amazing. And as of yesterday at least Acme still had it at $239 while HD has gone back to $329.

Pretty damn good for a kit with two 5.0's I'd say. Just wish it was a rapid charger (just 'cause).

I'll agree for all the hype surrounding one would expect it be even louder.

Though it's not bad and overall has been plenty loud enough in the garage for me anyways.

Maybe it'll grow on you

Been using it a lot since it came last month, and liking it! Even without any built way to hang it up. I do have it standing up vertically. Takes up less room that way too. The BT connects easy enough and I have also played FM thru aux jack from my device too.

I do notice for at least some of the music I listen too certain recordings just playback louder than others. I put a lot of CD music onto my laptop then transferred it over to my device. Without changing volume either device or speaker sound levels can vary some with different albums and artist.

As long as the throat opening is large enough for what you want to do it's awesome. I bought it on a whim planning a Unistrut project and I use that thing way more than I ever would have expected. As long as what you're cutting isn't hardened (shafting) it zips right on through stuff.

The most surprisingly great use for it I found was on a CV shaft replacement on my GF's car. I had to disconnect the outer tie rod end to get the knuckle to move enough to remove the old shaft and get the new one in. When I went to take it off, the nut on the tie rod into the knuckle was just disintigrated and seized up. No chance of getting it off with any wrench, wright grips, Knipex Cobras, turbo socket, nothing (I tried them :(). So I decide to cut it off, grab a grinder and start using a cut off wheel and the cut off wheel shatters and gets me in the nose (I was wearing safety glasses). When I'm searching for another disc to put on there it suddenly hits me that I should try the M12 bandsaw. Layed down on my back and sliced right through it like butter. Bought a new OTRE and replaced it and we were on our way.
