Got the M18 Rover 2365, high expectations, very disappointed. It almost feels like it was not made and designed by the same company as the M12 Rover 2364.
Pros
Brighter as expected but not by much
Magnets are super strong but almost too strong
Swivel rotating head - but many flaws in design
Clamp has more length and depth - but one way
Cons
Can only be clamped one way, M12 clamp can be clamped from either front or back, M18 only clamp to back
Magnets dont have protective rubber cover, though recessed a fraction, dont understand why not covered
Handle is useless with XC or 9.0, you cant grab it as battery prevents fingers getting through hole
Swivel rotating head mechanism is flush to bottom, it should be set 1/2-1" above
Head only swivels 180 degrees one way other way is 170 degrees, wtf
Unclipping face to swivel is tough
While the clamp is bigger and larger capacity 3" vs 2" on M12, it clamps only to rear. With M12 I clamp often to top of car hood pointed down, impossible to use M18 this way even with swivel head. Its a toss up if the head should swivel from bottom of light or top, I feel it should of been other way. Its a little brighter than M12 and same compared to my V1 hex flood, not much difference.
The M12 Rover is great and the M18 should of been awesome with its additional swivel feature. Very disappointed. The one way clamp and location of swivel mech makes me scratch my head. Wait till you try to pull it off when using magnets, it aint easy.
