I'm skeptical that they would, as it would pretty much be a M12 straight die grinder with a 1/8" collet. 1/4" to 1/8" collet adapters exist so technically you can make the uber dremel if so desired.

I have the M12 dremel, it's... adequate for the scope of what a dremel should be used for. But we all know Milwaukee products are for beating like a cabin screen door and the M12 dremel tends to overheat when you're pounding through battery after battery using it like a die grinder. They do cool down in the time it takes to drink one beer if you put them in the freezer.
I’m liking this straight die grinder idea. Any downsides? Other than maybe it generating too much RPM?

The M12 dremel is actually faster; Milwaukee assumes you're using 2" accessories with the die grinder. The die grinder has a squeeze trigger instead of an on off switch so you can't hold it like a big pencil. It costs twice as much. You have to use an adapter for 1/8" collet dremel stuff.

The correct GJ answer is of course to buy both and use the dremel for light precision work, and the die grinder when you need power for 1/4" collet 2" accessories.

M18 Inflator is great!! I don't even use my M12 version anymore. I regret not getting it sooner. I'm going on vacation this Saturday so I will try it out on a blow up mattress and beach floats. I forget to bring it last year which was a mistake.

Edited to add: I also pair it with the JACO Lightning S2X Tire Inflator Nozzle.
I appreciate your reply! Really looking forward to hearing how it worked out for you!

Any M18 compressor tank owners
I've only used mine a handful of times but I clearly sworn it cutoff/stopped when the desired pressure was set or close to it.

Today, the tank just kept on running past 90 and wanted to keep on going.
Is the dial on pressure just to set the output the the tank fills to max PSI

Again, I've only used it a handful of times but I feel like it did cut off at some point

I think it maxes at 135 psi or so. Would run it up to that and see if it cuts off, if it runs up much past it. Turn it off and manually bleed off pressure via the tank drain. I think my switch was faulty so it wouldn't run at all. Waiting for the warranty replacement to arrive.

I kind of want the m12 right angle drill but they still don’t make a fuel model. Do you guys think that will ever come out?
The non-fuel one is often brought up as underpowered.

It would be a good tool for them to revise, but I don’t think it sells in the high numbers that the average m12 tool does. I doubt that it is a priority for them.

I have one. I think it would depend on what you are wanting to do with it. I have only used it a handful of times, but I have not found it under powered for my needs. It is one of those thing you go.....oh yea I have this thing that would be perfect for that.

To tell the truth I don't remember what project I bought it for.

Just resorted all the battery tools and it still had a drill bit in it, so I must have used it for something but don't remember what. And I must have been rushed to leave it in the drill.

Does anyone have either of the band files?

Was it worth it?
From what I recall the initial impressions on it were good but I haven't heard anything long term. I don't have one but have been thinking about buying one myself.

If you use the CP 3.0 battery the weight shouldn't be bad at all, but I've wondered the same thing.

Those are Rookie numbers. Here on GJ you need more. Do not let this mistake happen again!

Other than the fact that you are, indeed, a rookie….

Here, bigger, more, get two and yes you need it are usually most of the answers.

welcome to the board.

I’m looking for a better way to store charged batteries. Anybody using the Milwaukee Durable Mounting plates or battery holders? I’d like to get something to mount on the wall in my new shop to organize batteries. I’d want at least 8 each M12 and M18. Their large panel with two of each holders is $104 plus tax on sale. I’m not in the pack out ecosystem at all currently and don’t think I would be going all in.

Alternatively I could buy 12 each of the 3D printed battery mounts from ebay for $33 and make my own mount plate/shelving. I’ve seen mixed reviews on these breaking over time.

There are also some CNC plasma cut battery rack options on Etsy in the $55-120 range.

Thoughts?

I 3D print my own battery holders. They have been working fine but I don't use them 100 times a day. The M12 ones are a little flimsy but I'm not too worried about them. If I had a bunch of people in my shop working on stuff, I'd want something more stout but both the M12 and M18 3D printed holders are plenty strong as long as someone isn't going shop gorilla on them. Honestly I think the M18 mount I use/print would even be fine with most shop gorillas. I saw spend the money on a 3D printer and make your own =)

I use M18 3D printed ones off eBay and they’ve held up great for a few years now. I’m grabbing/putting away batteries several times a week. They even hold the 12.0s just fine. You don’t have much to lose as they’re pretty cheap.

Can’t speak to the M12 variants as I’m M18-only

Do you have a link to the ones you own?

I'm wondering if there are different patterns, some stronger than others (more material / better design) that might not be apparent just looking at them online.

I think a lot of sellers print models off of thingiverse and sell them on ebay. There are a few that have their own designs but I don't think that is the majority of them from what I've seen in the past.

The original ones that I have don’t seem to be available anymore, but I have these ones as well and they’re just as good.

Does anyone have a comparison between the M12 hatchet and the M18 hatchet? Both are on sale and I'm wondering if one is clearly better than the other or if it is more like the M12 vs the M18 surge where there isn't that much of a difference?

I bought one for automotive metal work. It works great and worth every penny. I bought a pack of 3m sanding strips for it and it does the job the way I hoped.

I bought 3d printed mounts off eBay and they work well. Try a couple and if you are happy with them, buy more. I have 20 batteries so buying the Milwaukee solution was too much for my needs.

Wow that looks really good. Did you do any prep or just start spraying?
I didn't do any prep for this one. I had done a packout ammocan a week or so ago and sanded that one. I want to see how each hold up. Worst case if this one doesn't hold up I can sand and repaint and not be out anything except time.

Recently bought myself the M12 right angle die grinder and finally had the opportunity to use it (removing some rust and corrosion from the hubs on one of our cars to fit some new wheels). I was using a wire wheel and it seemed like the tool would stop motion with surprisingly little load applied to it. My air powered die grinder also does this so I kinda thought maybe it was normal or part of the design. But I talked to a friend who has extensive use and he hasn't experienced this same thing in his many, many hours of grinding.

Looks like I need to see about a warranty replacement. I bought it from Home Depot - any consensus on whether I should return to Home Depot or go directly thru Milwaukee? I purchased it about 5-6wks ago but did not fill out any warranty cards or anything like that.
