regarding the IR tilted body, is there an advantage?
No. Some days it is other days it isn't. I guess I prefer tilted but wouldn't buy one over the other just because of it.
ARGH Don't show me this!!! Your making want to Actually switch too. Lol. I'm soo close to doing it..
Switch what? Ratchets or impacts?
Do you happen to know if the 20 Volt chargers will also accept the 12 Volt batteries? I have the W7150 and W5130 and love 'em, but I'd really prefer to NOT have to have yet another flippin' charger for the 3/8" ratchet...
You would swear they do but they don't. I like the Milwaukee combo charger. Hate having the bulky IR chargers as well.
Someone tell me when this is coming stateside, cause i want it. NOW.
You can buy it now. I have one for our shop. It's a Metabo LTX 18v quick drill with the interchangeable system. It's pretty neat. Change between Jacobs chuck, power bit holder, 90* attachment or a huge torque multiplier. You can also leave the attachments off and use the magnetic bit holder.

I am heavily invested in the M12 line, but swore that I was going to pass on the M18 Fuel stuff. Then those bastards at Milwaukee just announced their new 7-1/4" circular saw.

And now the new M18 stuff comes with the multi-voltage (12 & 18) charger standard.

ARRRGGGGHHHH! MUST RESIST!

The 7-1/4" saw is what did it for me too. I have it already, and don't foresee pulling out a corded one very often if at all. This thing rocks.

I just want to point out that I tried something with my M12 hackzawl today. It's the non-fuel version, and at first with the 1.5 battery I was a little unimpressed with the speed and it felt underpowered.

So I put a 2.0 fuel battery in it and its slightly quicker in RPM's and feels great now! Anyone else try this?

Here is a picture of my current Red collection, the impact is the fuel 3/8th's and is my new favorite tool!

I have the Fuel hackzall and it is pretty decent. I use it for smaller jobs mainly and pull out the cord on the larger ones. One thing to keep in mind is that these are only 10.8v tools and not corded. I can only compare it to my corded and 36v Dewalt which it does not compare to at all, but it is really handy.

Yeah the theory behind it is that the bigger pack allows more peak power for the tool to work better/faster. I think it would help more with tools that draw a lot of power from the pack (i.e. a saw) vs something that doesnt (i.e. a drill or impact driver)

Be interesting to see how much difference it makes if you throw a 4.0ah pack on it.

I just got started on Milwaukee power tool...the question is should it be M12 Fuel or M18 Fuel? In the immediate future I will need the following

Drill
Impact Driver
Circular Saw (not available in M12 Fuel yet)

Depends on what you're doing. Homeowner? M12 is probably fine. Pro? M18. Lots of cabinets? M12. Lots of big lag screws and spade bits? M18. Lots of ladder work? Maybe M12. Working in the garage? M18.

Yeah I just picked up the M18 jigsaw w XC pack in a client's shop
& damn that thing is surprisingly heavy. Would almost be annoying on a ladder or roof

You'll end up with both, just get what you'll use now and the collection will just grow continuously.

Attached to the bottom of an impact driver, the XC battery pack balances out the tool perfectly. An added plus is the extra battery capacity.

Actually, the smaller capacity battery can be annoying, because the tool is then top heavy.

I have a sawzall.

Mostly use it for tree trimming...I did do a deck/porch demo with it and it worked like a charm. Bought it on sale for $99.00 at H.D. No regrets...very happy with with it.

Been using my M18 Fuel sawzall demoing the floors in a house I bought. Still can't believe it's as good as it is and cordless.

pl silverado I gotta ask. What do you do a)professionally and b) with all these tools? You seem to have the most extensive (and new) collection of Fuel yet.

a. Former tool dealer, currently Facilities Maintenance. Currently attempting to go back to school as I can do so at no cost, but am having trouble finding the time with two young kids.

b. These were all for home, so they don't get used as much as they probably should to warrant purchasing them, but the hardware store I deal with gave me a good deal on everything, so I bit the bullet and upgraded all of my cordless. It's nice to only have to need one type of battery as opposed to 4 different kinds. :rocker:

Very cool and congrats. A impressive collection that should serve you well. Good luck with school, its a tough road but worth if you find a passion (or bigger paycheck).

I also just recently had to update my cordless system and bit the bullet as you said. I think you bit the whole clip:uzi:

Thank you.

I'm not done yet, still waiting on two more pieces. Hopefully I can put them all to good use soon building a shed followed by a 30x50 shop.

Over the weekend, a guy recently posted some stuff on Craigslist. Met up with him today, and bought this for $50!

Going to meet him again for another purchase. I'll update tomorrow evening. Stopped by Home Depot yesterday and none of this stuff was out. Then stopped by again tonight, and all this new stuff was displayed. Nothing I'm specifically looking for, so maybe more deals are on the way:

The milwaukee utility knife and knifes are awesome.. I have every one except the spring assisted model, that is recently marked down from $29 to $19. I carry the model with the hook blade EVERY day.. Fastback utility knife are the best on the market, I have just about every other one and milwaukee is by far better made and easier to use.

Milwaukee has a new m18 3/8 impact wrench on its site too. I just started a new thread with the info.

Couple comparison pics of 3/8 ratchet. I like the size and shape of the Milwaukee better. Having a gauge for the battery is nice as well. However the Ingersoll is definitely built much heavier and does not flex and feel like it's falling apart when you break bolts loose manually.

Couple comparing the big 1/2 impacts. Not much difference. Balance is a little better with the IR but not a huge difference.

My 3/8 cordless IR right angle impact showed up yesterday as well. I looked at the Milwaukee right angle impact but it only had 60ft-lbs of torque. The IR is rated at 180ft-lbs which is the same amount the air powered version is rated at. The Milwaukee looks more compact but the way the battery attaches looks like it could get in the way. One thing I hate about the IR stuff is their big bulky chargers. I guess you just can't win in the cordless world lol. There's a few things that made me buy these IR products over Milwaukee but for a one battery system I still think Milwaukee is the best choice.

Which would you recommend for a cordless gun the Milwaukee,IR,or snap on?really want to get one but can't decide, really thinking about the IR.

The XC batteries make a world of difference in power and run time. As I've posted before, my 3/8" M12 Fuel impact wrench had no problem keeping up with coworkers' 18v Dewalt impact drivers at my last job with the XC batteries.

Cool a journeyman, I'm a 2nd step out of local 66 in Houston. That skinning knife is awesome but my foreman threw it out for buying a Chinese knife so I replaced it with a Buckingham.

Home Depot has dropped the price of the standard (Xenon) M12 worklight to $14.97. These lights basically **** compared to all the LED offerings, but for $15 it's worth it if you just need a basic light. All the LED stuff is sweet but hovers in the $50 range, $40 if you shop real carefully.
