Depending on what you do on them, I've really enjoyed the 3/8" fuel impact, 2654 I think is the number. It has pulled lug nuts off for me fine and is a whole lot easier to handle on smaller bolts/nuts
I have looked at the 3/8" impact wrench, but I'm not sure if it would break free lug nuts that are torqued down to 140 foot pounds. So my thought is to get the 1/2" first then the 3/8" impact! But the 1/2" impact would mostly be used for lug nuts and suspension parts.

Here's my collection, most of the M18 is all fuel. The M12 is all brushed.
is that the m18 fuel 7 1/4 brushless circular saw? if so how do you like it? that is one of the other things on my list. which i may have to get before any impact wrenches, due to my wife wanting me to build some book shelves, and not having any saw at the moment!

It's an awesome saw if you don't mind the blade on the right side. If you prefer the blade on the left side and don't need the depth of cut the 7 1/4" offers you could look around for the 6 1/2" fuel version. I have both and they're both great saws.

No, the one pictured is the 2730-20 6.5" version. As far as use goes I have loved it. Paired with a 5.0 battery I was able to squeeze a full day cutting various 2x stock and some sheet goods. Any other questions, feel free to ask.

Regarding the build date, the serial number contains the build date. In your specific example of the M18 grinder, you have a serial number on that tool of B96AD142800756. That tool was manufactured the 28th week in 2014 as indicated by the numbers "1428". The serial number can be found on the nameplate sticker which is typically located on the opposite side of the tool of where the logo is located.

Ah yeah, if you want to be 100% sure it will get them off then the 1/2 will def. do it! It won't even hesitate on bolts at that torque.
The 3/8 would be close.. I think with a fresh battery it would do it but if you want to be sure the 1/2" is the way to go

My 3/8" 2654 breaks lug nuts on our '05 GMC Yukon and '08 GMC 2500 that I torque to 140# myself each time I r&r a wheel. BUT we don't get much corrosion or rust here. I use a deep 22mm socket in 3/8" drive I ordered specifically for the chore, I think it's a Sunex from Amazon.

I have the 3/8 fuel m18 and I use it at work all the time. I use it when doing brake jobs on school buses. When removing the caliper bolts from time to time I'll run into a bolt someone impacted on it won't remove. But then again it's a 18mm bolt head. When removing band clamps from exhaust work now these are rusted and corroded bolts. Takes a 14mm bolt head I've always been able to remove these powers right thru them. Axle bolts on the fords or Chevys does a great job. I even use it on some international buses. I tested and put a 24mm socket on a reducer and it powered right on with ease. I find myself using it all the time now.

Well, I replaced a CV this weekend and I DID try it. It worked! It broke the nut free and very slowly progressed on removing it. I figured after a little while though that it proved it was capable and I didn't need to subject it to more so I took it off the rest of the way with a breaker bar. I took a video but I haven't downloaded it yet from my phone. I'll try to put it up tonight. It was weeblewobbling like CRAZY but the important thing is it did it. The spindle nut torque on the car is I think 134 ft/lbs, but I don't know what it was torqued to the last time whoever had it off. This is the first time I'm working on this car.

Yeah, I'm probably going to pick up the 1/2" impact on my way home from work. Then after I save up a little more money, I'll be getting the 3/8" impact and probably an extra xc5.0 battery!

Nice. Is that the 2454 impact? That is my next purchase with the free 1/4" ratchet but HD is always out of stock online. They had some a few days ago but I waited a day and they were out again.
I was pretty impressed when my M18 fuel with hex adapter took off a chevy axle nut. I don't think I would use the m12 3/8 to do axle nuts because I have the big m18 1/2" and my m18 hex driver impact but nice to know the m12 has some balls.

I got the black hoodie so the color doesn't bother me. The bulge isn't an issue as I work in open areas so it's not bumping into random things and when I'm in a vehicle it's off to the side and not in my back. I would of thought the high setting would make me sweat but it's keeps me comfortably warm and I can feel the difference between high and medium but the low setting feels like it's off and I've got a $150 sweater on. Maybe it's too baggy on me? I wear medium t-shirts and those are pretty form fitting on me. So I naturally got a medium hoodie. The fit of the hoodie is what I like but maybe too lose for the heating elements to do their voodoo....

Finally joined the Milwaukee club today! My dewalt drill is a little long in the tooth, has the 18V lithium batteries that are getting kind of old (2010 I think). I've been drooling over the fuel hammerdrill combo kit for nearly a year and finally pulled the trigger. Got the newer version with the 5ah batteries. Next up is probably some M12 stuff like the ratchet, maybe 3/8 impact, M12 drill...This is a slippery slope...

The jacket is better than the hoodie, but the hoodie does keep you warm. Not hot, but warm.. Where the hoodie shines is its ability to be worn under something else.
A mistake some people make is still wearing layers of clothes under the heated gear. You have to dress lightly.

Yeah do not get the incandescent lights. At least the M12 is horrible. I did a comparison of it vs a few other lights I have. This link should drop you right at the lighting comparison.

just ordered the 2754-20 to add to the collection. cant wait to get it. i have the older m18 3/8th and it was amazing at 167lb-ft tq. it still works, and works great; but i most have it in my trunk for lug nuts on the side of the road if i need it. the new one will be in the garage with the rest.
The jacket will be warmer mainly because it blocks the wind better than the hoodie in addition to heat retention. Make sure the fit is a bit snug for best results and definitely don't layer under the heated hoodie/jacket. The heated hoodie works great under a heavier outer jacket.

Slightly confusing that, according to Milwaukee on the Home Depo site, it wont fit the 2754 wrench.
