I'll wait for it to be included in some set and then find it on eBay when people break up the sets, should be able to pick up the battery for $100, depending on the cost of the set.

The best deal a bunch of us jumped on the 2754-22 kit was shipped for $230 back in March, so after Acme promo $280 with free 5.0 is comparable if you need the extra battery.
They extended it to 9/2 tonight. Thought it was a one time per customer, but I just used it again.

nice. I hope they have this deal for a while. I really want the m18 vacuum and this might be the best way to get started with batteries and a charger.
Deal alert:. Home Depot has the Milwaukee Stand Light (2130-20) + a M18 5.0Ah starter kit for $249. It's listed on the web site as a single item (different SKU than the light by itself), but it's also available in stores - scan both items at register and get the cost of the starter kit ($149) immediately taken off the total - making the light $155.78 and the starter kit $93.22.
Until recently, only the "heavy duty" does near me have stocked the light, but now they all seem to have it. I found the promo display (with no sign) in the racetrack aisle.

I saw this the other day. I don't really need the starter kit. Could use another battery if I got another light. But is the light worth the price? Anyone have this light and can comment on how well it lights up and how long a battery will last? I have the little Milwaukee lantern and really like it and could use a stand work light but it sure is a pretty hefty price.

I have the light, and love it. The only negatives for me are the space it takes up in the van, and that you need relatively level ground to set it up.
I haven't run it long enough at one time to kill a battery, but after a couple of hours on high mode I still had two lights on the battery meter on a 5.0Ah battery, so that seems to match up with Milwaukee's claims. Since light have a very predictable power draw, I suspect their claimed battery life is probably spot on (assuming you're using a new battery).
I also have the M18 lantern and prefer the stand light when it fits where i need it.

I can't promise this to anyone, but it seems like they way the Unklemike described, the light stand / starter kit combo is ringing up the same way that the $150 & $100 off promos do during the holidays.. I'm willing to bet - that you can buy the light stand and the starter kit to trigger the deal, and then return the starter kit, getting a refund for the reduced price ($93) and wind up getting the light stand for $155.....
When they do these things, they spread the discount proportionally across both items. Giving each a reduced value, and not just "giving you" one for free.. The newly assigned prices should appear right on the receipt, so if you return one, you don't get the full price value of the item you returned - but you'll wind up keeping the item you didn't return at a much discounted price.. I wouldn't endorse doing this, but I'd assume you could even return the starter kit claiming you don't have a receipt, (I got it as a gift) and they would give you store credit for the items full value.. I think the store credit idea is a bit much, but returning the starter kit for a reduced refund is fair game in my eyes. You could try it, I'm betting it will work. Besides, you have a thread filled with people demanding lost/uncounted stock be sold to them for these HD penny deals so they can stock up their eBay and Craigslist side business, so I wouldn't feel too bad about paying $150 for something..

I've got the vacuum, and it's excellent. I use it more than any other Milwaukee device except for the fan (which is also excellent). I keep a pair of earplugs stashed inside the lid, it's awfully loud in confined spaces.

NOBODY that's in that HD clearance thread has any business judging anyone, especially when the vast majority of people using the Milwaukee deals, use it to grow their own personal tool collection instead of scouring the shelves for lost/misplaced , (basically) free merchandise to sell online. When your walking into HD armed with letters from the corporate office, copy's of laws stating how items must be sold for the prices they ring up for, and have the corporate number on speed dial demanding stock worth hundreds of dollars be sold for a penny "or you'll tell" , THAT is a different ball game.
That said - the holiday promos should be coming up soon. Unfortunately I'm running out of Milwaukee stuff to buy...

Only thing I'm really itching for is the m18 search light.. the lineman / bucket light I predict will be a flop.. I think it would have been better, if they designed it to go on another side of the bucket that wasn't between you and your work. It invites destruction having it between the bucket and the pole. If it went on the opposite side and had a 1' mast to extend the light heads up and over the ledge - I'd be more interested. Even an m12 hardhat light would be great. Give me a 500 lumen flood/spot light that can mount on a hardhat and you wouldn't even need anything else up in the air.. My coast light already takes 4 AA batteries, so the weight of the pack is a non issue.. I'm actually surprised they haven't made one yet.
I already caved and bought the jigsaw. I'm convinced that will never see a brushless version.

I used my 18 gauge nailer for the first time tonight. I tried a few 5/8" brads into a 3/4" pine board. 12 test nails from one end of the adjustment spectrum to the other and not a single one was flush with the surface. It looks like whatever hits the nail slips off after the initial impact and digs into the wood instead. Anyone else have this issue? This is my first nailer of any kind.
I was also disappointed with the slight indents from the safety, but those could have sanded out. Needless to say I resorted to wood glue and extra clamps.

I'd hate to admit it, but the Ryobi Airstike seems like it performed the best in head to head video matches with these other cordless nailers on the market..
I have the older Paslodes.. Framing and finish. The ones that take the nicad battery and gas cartridge.. They both were amazing ( been years since I used them). The finish nailer comes with a rubber boot for the safety and leaves no marks on the wood. I THINK the Ryobi might have something like that also.

I picked up the same brads in a few different lengths. I guess I'll have to do some more experimenting tomorrow. Clearly it's powerful enough given the indent in the wood beside each nail. I just don't know why it isn't hitting the nail.
