Aww man. Just bought the 2755b not too long ago. Looks like I'll be returning it and getting the 2861 instead. I did kind of feel like the 2755b was kinda underpowered and too close to the m12 3/8 impact.

Ya I can easily understand how learning of this recent Mid Torque impact would create some uncertainty on a recent purchase of the 2755B.

Obviously the new 2861 will be a heavier and slightly bigger tool.

Is there any specific reason/application why you feel its underpowered for your application?

I have the old B model the 2655 I always have liked it's overall compactness especially when the only alternative at the time was the 2763 high torque. Lot of weight and power there.

Just looking at specs (operator's manual PDF on the Milwaukee page) the new 2861 will have 3 mode settings 510/2100/2400 rpm and IPM of 420/2700/3000. And I also see the pin detent version the 2860 will have a higher mode 1 rating.

Is is normal for an M12 3/8 ratchet to have a wobble to it? It is almost like the anvil is off center so the bit wobbles as it spins. Pretty noticeable on deep sockets.

Yea most my sockets will wobble somewhat at speed with the ratchet and obviously its more pronounced like when using an extension bar. I never gave it much thought though. Figure its just how it fits with the spring ball adapter. My ball pin impact wrench is also similar

I do notice the ring style anvils will usually fit a socket tighter

Possibly some brands of sockets may hold better than others :dunno:

Are there any good deals on a m12 fuel drill/driver kit and a 3/8in ratchet? I think HD has a free tool deal with the $200 kit

Honestly I didn't get a chance to use the 2755b too much. I tried to take off some exhaust manifold bolts with it and it couldn't do it. I also already have the m12 3/8 impact which I really like. I'm a mechanic, so I use the m12 for engine removals and tear downs. I believe the m12 is rated like at 120ft-lbs and the 2755b is rated at 220 which seems kinda close to each other. Even if the new 2861 is a bit longer and heavier I think it's a good trade off for more than double the power of the 2755b. I'll rather have more power and not need it, than need it and not have it.

I totally agree that would be a good combo of impact tools to have with a wide range. And I would believe the power rating on the mid torque will be great for most lugnut removal and in general a larger or rusted /stuck fastener. The 2454 3/8" impact wrench is a very good tool I have also had one for a while and generally prefer it over the M18 3/8

Thanks!

Has NTX Tools gotten any better recently? Last I heard they were absolutely abysmal, and good luck getting your tools in a reasonable amount of time, if you ever got them at all.

That's where I, and a lot of guys bought their gearwrench socket sets from cause they had (still have) a great deal going for the sets.. I had zero issues with my order, and you can check out the thread to see if anyone else did, but I don't think so.. not sure where that reputation came from.

I had my wife drop me off at HD today and I found the bargain area. They had a milwaukee m 12 2494-22 drill and driver kit for 129.00. I thought it was a great price for a nice small set

A magnetic mount is available for the m12 stick light from Milwaukee as an accessory.. yes.. I have it.. what's nice about it, is it is rubber coated so it will not scratch anything, and it installs or removes quickly and easily.. it COULD be stronger, but it works fine. you can make your own as others have pointed out.. Home Depot sells magnetic mounts in various sizes and pull strengths, up to 90lbs.. you would have just get a bolt that matched the m12 threads and a nut.. would work fine, but not rubber coated... im sure you could figure something out if u wanted, but I just bought the one made for the light.

$18 at Ohio power tool- https://www.ohiopowertool.com/p-573...j7s144ffC8H3IoX4BfnyzTX847LcZfCTsSRoCxxnw_wcB

It's like $16 on the hd website, but not in stock online an I've never seen it in a store.

This is one you can buy in store at hd for $3, including the bolt and nut you'd need to buy..
http://www.homedepot.com/p/MASTER-MAGNETICS-16-lb-Round-Base-Pull-Magnets-96314/203613131

Just FYI, cause I didn't realize this at first either, so just in case u don't know - the metal hook for the stick light also slides and locks into position on the back of the light - so the light can be hung with the bulbs facing down... the hook will click into position, but it's best to have a small battery for that...

Dunno, I've never used that stuff.. sounds like a good idea though. I know the price on the Milwaukee magnet has come down, cause I think I paid close to $30 for mine when I got it. When I was looking last night I think they were still about $28 on eBay..

I guess for something quick and dirty you could try electical tape, maybe a stronger magnet. I know the one I posted from HD comes in several sizes. 16#, 25#, 65#(I think), and 90#..
I just used 6 of them to make a magnetic rack for the the search lights I got for work. Have 2 of the 90# and 4 of the 65# holding up a piece of plywood that has 3 m18 search lights, the 6 bay charger and 6 5.0 batteries. The thing is stuck to a file cabinet and it's not going anywhere..

The plastidip actually sounds like a great idea.. the Milwaukee magnet is very robust as far as it's protective coating goes. Have to give it that much.

Theres some contractor on my job site right now covered in Milwaukee stuff. Heated jacket, tape measure, fastback knife, m12 fuel impact driver - on the one day I wore my Dewalt heated hoodie. I'm so ashamed.. I have the m12 battery and power source inside, if that makes it any better.. lol

Yup, I gave up checking. Product page now says Arriving Soon!
Warehouse acquiring product. Usually ships in 7-10 business days. Maybe Monday.

5th day and no shipping confirmation yet from Acme for the M18 trimmer/blower...

Can't help but think we are going to see a second generation of high torque impact at NPS17. Can't wait to get the 2861, feel like I should have held off a bit on the 2755B. Oh well. Different tools for different tasks.

Has NTX Tools gotten any better recently?

In my experience they're spotty. SK stuff seems to ship immediately, other stuff takes a few weeks. They have gotten better about telling you that—I ordered a bunch of VIM magrails from them, and they actually told me they were backordered w a 4 week lead time.

Given that I saved nearly $100 over what Amazon would charge, I can wait a few weeks.

Fwiw, NTX and Coastal are the same company, and people send to be happy with getting their Wilton anniversary vises from Coastal.

Just yakking....

Looking at the new 18 Fuel Blower

One of the things I like about my current yellow 40 is just the base stand that is on it.
I use it as a GRIP as I use this blower guaranteed once a week to dry out the cars post washing.

The open *base* helps me hold the blower vertical, etc in all sorts of directions.
I literally can use one 16" MF to finishing any remaining water spots on 2 cars, and the towel will still be 2/3rd dry.

Depending on the overall balance/weight of this new red blower, not sure if it will allow me to do the same.
