My meger Milwaukee purchase yesterday was 6'/2 meter mini tape measure, and the auto retracting utility knife that's on clearance in hd for $3, originally around $12 I think.. so for $7 I got 2 more red things....

Off the top of my head a really simple situation where the battery often gets in the way at least for me is doing the lug nuts on a deep dish rim like often found on a tractor...

I'm shopping for a second set of rims for our UTV so I have something for driving it on the street and now wear down our trail tires so much. I'm going to make sure to watch out for this when picking a set of rims. I feel like I saw a UTV with a set of street rims/tires last summer with a deep dish like that.

Got an issue with my Milwaukee fuel hammer drill, used it in hammer mode yesterday, now the chuck is so tight I can't get the bit out, tried some wd40, gloves, etc, but nothing will budge it. I know I can use channel locks but don't want to mar up the plastic around the chuck collar on my nice new drill, any tips from the M hive?

Try using a rubber strap wrench

Ya Any luck yet?

I had a problem like that once...

I was selling some import 18v drill drivers at the flea mkt.

And does anybody remember when HF's were a yellow color kind of similar to Dewalt. :wtf:

Anyhow this guy came by and cripes he was a just about as wide as he was tall and he jumped right on them. Probably thought it was Dewalt lol!

So now here he is cranking on the chuck with both of his big bear paws. I figure he's trying to see if he can break it. Well after a while he stopped and he set it back down on the table. Turned out he had ratchet tightened it so much I couldn't free it up by hand. So I eventually used two good sized pair of plier one to hold it solid and one for leverage to turn the chuck these were the old two handed style.

I used two strips of heavy grade leather (I had a lot leather goods having motorcycles) to pad the chuck from the jaw teeth. Came apart easy enough with tools and was no marks or other damage.

If you don't have luck with anything else, just wrap some electrical tape around the top and bottom jaws of your channellocks. That'll keep em from scraping anything up and you should get more than enough grip with em.

Place a Brass punch or blunt Brass chisel on the knurled area of the chuck and tap the Brass item with a ball peen hammer. Works wonderfully

I tried a strap wrench and lots of other things, in the end, I put the drill in my vise protected with some rags and grabbed the chuck with a big old pair of channel locks and "armstronged" it, of course the more I could not get it open the more pissed I got  and didn't protect the chuck that well so it has a few scratches on it but it works fine, I thought it was plastic but it is metal coated in something. Sad fact of the matter is, if you google this topic, a lot of hits come back on this exact problem for MIL drills especially when the hammer drill mode is used. I love my red tools but not thrilled about that situation.
YMMV don't over tighten your key less chucks!

Sorry to hear it got nicked up getting it out, I would of just e-serviced it, you still might want to since there may be more than the cosmetic damage.

Surely it doesnt look as bad as this POS I inherited a few months ago.

Thanks to Thumper68's video I picked up two of the Milwaukee TorqueLock locking pliers. They feel very nice and I'm looking forward to not pinching the fat of my fingers EVERY DAMN TIME I use them like with normal vise grips.

The Milwaukee locking pliers/clamps are really, really nice. They just feel nice, and no slop whatsoever. Definitely a step up from Irwin Vicegrips.

I have a few special order ones coming in tomorrow (thanks Acme). I'll have to snap a pic of my Milwaukee locking plier/clamp stock pile [emoji106]

I had the 2704 hammer drill for a week before I traded it in for a 2703 non-hammer drill. All of my locking up chuck and bit wobble problems disappeared. The 2703 is also a hair shorter and lighter. I use SDS drills for hammer drilling anyways

No it's great - can go from pinpoint spot to nice flood.

I don't know how anyone doesn't like this thing as a flashlight (other than price).

I was just looking at these yesterday on ACME.

Even though I don't use them that much these days and prefer to remove most stuff without resorting tools of destruction :D, They are often a necessity and all my vice grips are old and the teeth wore some.

The prices looked good...is that about average? Something like $16.97 for 2 pc curved jaw and between $9-$12 for most of the single pieces.

I always like the 10" straight jaws the best...I don't see them with the "Durable Grip by Milwaukee®" handles. Guess they don't make them that way? :headscrat

So listen guys - I literally JUST got my offer accepted and paid the eBay seller for this thing 2 minutes ago.

It's a new "without packaging" 3.5 inch Milwaukee hardline knife with the smooth recurve blade. I belive HD has a $79 price tag on these.. eBay seller, a pawn shop, was asking $48 shipped - but he just accepted my $40 offer with Free shipping. He has a few left on his eBay listing, and it's the cheapest you'll find. He also has the 3" version in another listing, same price... Might be worth jumping on if you want a better Milwaukee knife that has a D2 steel blade.. the 3.5" version is the same length as the red fastback knives... These are much more robust than the red versions.

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/292027827934

That is a bit rough looking...maybe you can custom paint it :D

FWIW to all you Milwaukee Tool fans I often find that the white quickly rubs off the lettering (especially on my M12 it seems but maybe I just use them more) so if you want to you can touch that up easy enough using a white paint pen and a little patience

Just as an FYI from what I can tell from the available replacement parts I'm pretty sure one can swap out the ball pin anvil on the 2655B for hog ring style of 2755B

The older anvils are square, whereas the newer ones are tear dropped. It won't work.

I got one of those when I bought the M12 flashlight. I've been using it as my EDC knife for the past few months. It's significantly better than the red knives. One hand open/close, better steel, a little smaller, more comfortable to hold (in my hands).

I'm a knife guy so I like to carry something nice. This guy fills the role of a nice enough work knife that still has the features I'm used to in my typical EDC knives, without the worry of losing it or destroying it.

Yea the one that comes with the m12 light is the 3" size... I got the 3.5" cause I like the size of the red fastbacks.. the blades look alot wider on the hardline model I bought compared to the fastback..

So I needed to order the 2355-20KN kit today for a friend, found cpomilwaukee had it with that particular item screen showing free shipping, but it would not come up with free shipping once in my cart.

I called and got a very competent operator. Almost immediately my phone decided to do the fun cell phone game of I can hear him but he can't hear me. He was actually intelligent enough to keep talking and said, "If you can hear me I'm going to call you back on the number you're calling from." He then immediately called me back and I was able to place my order. I explained my issue w the free shipping and he said no problem and just did it for me.

I know we like to bash CPO here sometimes 'cause of their seemingly weird pricing games during sales - and I don't disagree - but their service really is pretty good. I once had to call for a Ryobi sale too that was the same thing: discount not appearing in cart. The guy I got then was also very competent. And the one time I had to return something to CPO (a recon Milwaukee inspection camera that didn't work out of the box) they sent a call tag for the faulty unit and immediately shipped me a replacement.

I just think good service should be acknowledged once in awhile. FWIW.

And I've had this kit myself for awhile. I really like the Hardline knife. That said, I'm not a knife aficionado by any means so if you want to argue EDC knives, I defer to you and you're right. But I've been carrying the Hardline as an EDC and have found it to be comfortable, useful, ergonomic and has a very smooth action to open. They look kinda cool and I think the weight is just right - not too light, not too heavy.

Ya know what I noticed about the hardline knives - if you go back and watch the product demo Milwaukee did when they were announcing the new line, all the hardline demo knives were, and the rep said that they would ALL be spring assisted models, like the spring assisted fastback. Obviously, and to my disappointment, that did not carry through to the final product...

Would be really nice if they had done that.. I'm not a big fan of the flipper blade but I'll get use to it....

For $40 I think I got a great deal on what I just bought.. hopefully there's no issue with it when I get it from this eBay seller..

I agree service from CPO has always been fine for me. I think it is what keeps me going back. When I did the 2630 saw return it was pretty painless. That was recon too. One time I called CS because I missed out on a free battery offer somehow I ( forget the actual circumstances now) but they had no problem tossing in that xtra battery.

I just found a photo I had taken at the time of the indicator guide and how much that was off when the base was square to the blade.

Had the same issue, ordered last week and it said processing forever. Called on Monday cause the hold disappeared from my bank account. Changed to shipping yesterday and shows out for delivery today.

Still no charge on my bank account.

Are you guys saying that putting the ratchet on a bolt and pulling on it with your hand to break certain bolts loose like I do with pneumatic tools is bad for the electric ratchet?

Does it have a lock that doesn't let the head rotate with the trigger not press? or do you have to press the trigger wait until the motor locks up then pull harder to break the bolt loose and the motor will kick in again.

I was planning on getting this set

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauke...-M12-3-8-in-Ratchet-2454-22-2457-20/205044520

Does the 3/8th M12 provide usable power around a car? I currently use the M18 brushless impact drive with attachment and it works great but the tool is too big and the attachment makes it too long but the M12 3/8 only puts out 116ftlbs and seems severely under powered even compared to the impact driver. I dunno if I will like it or if ti will suit my needs.

Im want one of these as well. I think this is a better kit? Yes / No?

CPO Outlets is doing the free M18 bare tool with purchase of a kit. 3 of the 4 free choices are the Brushless Fuels (2704 Hammer Drill, 2753 1/4" Impact Driver, or 2754 3/8" Compact Impact Wrench) The other is a 5.0 battery.

29 kits to choose from.

Tempting except I have all those Fuel freebies.

Of course the same deal for the M12 line continues also.
