That little guy looks like it would be very handy for assembling stuff or anything with small annoying fasteners. These Milwaukee tools are like Pokemon "gotta have em all"

I use it for automotive use, between this and my Gen 2 Fuel M18 3/8 impact are my most used tools.

Are there any specs on the gen 2 m12 hex impact other than it's shorter in working height and probably lighter, does it have any more torque than the current m12 hex impact?

Also, just want to put in here that I'm fully addicted. I got the M18 fuel surge impact/drill driver kit for my birthday and then found the 2763 impact at the local flea market for a steal, and am amazed by it. When the 2767 can be had for ~225 for the bare tool I am going to buy it and sell this one.

Those guys at milwaukee are smart. Sell a kit with an m12/m18 charger so you don't need to buy one to start buying the tools and batteries for the M12... dang it!!!

Is there a gen 2 fuel ratchet coming as well? Is that what you guys are discussing? Trying to stay up to speed in here!

I just had a bunch of power tools stolen and I'm replacing everything I can replace with Milwaukee!

I did have to buy the Ryobi crown stapler though - Milwaukee doesn't make a real crown stapler battery powered that I'm aware of.... I did buy the 15ga finish nailer and the 18 ga brad nailer!!

Big day tomorrow at home depot - lots of discounts on Milwaukee stuff - They've been setting it all up since Monday.

The Gen 2 M12 Fuel impact driver besides being smaller is faster and more powerful.

There is no "Gen 2" Fuel rachet, the one just released is a "Gen 1"

what is the collective wisdom concerning storage of M12 and M18 batteries in unheated buildings over the winter, when temps will go below freezing, but not below, say, ten degrees Fahrenheit?
Just don't charge them too hot or too cold. If I remember correctly, charging cold is particularly harmful.

I'm contemplating what my next purchase might be.. I'm thinking the heat gun, or the m12 stapler.. the stapler I think I can squeeze in under a company purchase, heat gun would be for home.. I'll wait to see a few reviews of the stapler...

Purchased the a pair of the M12 staplers about 2 weeks ago. I've driven bout 1500 staples so far and they work real slick. Used it for putting up insulation in the shop with 3/8 to 1/2 inch staples. They sure burn through the staples pretty quick!

Quick review: The dial for adjusting the staple depth kinda ***** but I set it once and haven't had any issues with having to adjust it. From stapling insulation to stapling foam durovent, it has worked great set all the way in on the dial. Battery life is phenomenal, used maybe 1 1/2 batteries for insulating a 28x40x10 shop. The press fire feature isn't really any faster than just pulling the trigger on every staple with how long it takes to cycle. Its almost faster just to pull the trigger each time to drive a staple.

As far as staples go, it takes just over one clip of staples, what i've found is if you shoot until it 'empties'(end up with 3-4 staples left in the stapler before it won't let you fire), you don't have to worry about fitment of another clip. There is plenty of room to add another clip with the staples remaining in the stapler.

Overall very happy with the purchase, trigger pulls great, not overly firm where you'd have to worry about fatigue. The stapler has a great feel to it and isn't heavy at all, can literally work with it all day and not worry about fatigue.

I have the heat gun. It's super convenient, but my HF 120V unit clearly outperformed it. It heated 2 pieces of metal side by side and in 15sec the M18 raised temp 18deg, and the HF raised it 41deg.

Just got home from my local Home Depot and saw they have a bunch of various new tool displays/deals. The best thing I saw was the new/updated 46" tool box. I was holding out getting the original version for this one but at $998 I'm not sure I can justify the updates. I'm also assuming the originals may soon go on sale...anyone hear anything on that front?

Still no packout items on display yet (which is why I was there).

Besides promos already talked about at HD, there are some M12 bare tools with free XC 3.0, spot light, lantern, mag light, etc

How is everyone liking the fuel ratchets? Thinking about picking one up.. I haven't bought any Milwaukee stuff in a while

Don't like mine much, but it is more because I won't use a non 'impacting' powered ratchet much overall. The tool itself seems fine for what it is, but I will only use it as a special use tool for tight quarters.

I have 3/8 and 1/4 versions.

Looks like Home Depot fucked us on the $50/$100/$150 off deal this year.. new displays going up and it LOOKS like there's only a few "free" tools to pick from with buying a drill and impact kit.. I don't even think any of it is Fuel Stuff.. still covered up in the store - time will tell..

Maybe they are trying to empty the non fuel inventory. Just a guess.

Well I succumbed to the M12 craze. My first non-Makita purchase in years. With the two free batteries Home Depot was including it made sense. Will be using them the first time this week.ad34e899392f56465df7f61195fb9a57.jpg

It's a dog! It's cheap and weak, I got a snap on after using mine for a year,no comparison. The milwaukee will not break anything loose.

Acme just posted a good sale on the 18v 10 inch miter saw kit with one 9 amp battery. $479 plus one of several free tools or 2nd battery. Probably works out under $300 for the bare saw if you sold the battery and free tool.

The only deals on fuel are the M12 driver or M12 impact driver in a packout case for $99

There's an M18 brushless drill for $119. The rest of the M18 deals are 26XX with one free tool or the 4pc combo with 2 free tools.

I spent a few hours last night setting up the display.

I plan on picking up the M12 fuels with packout cases @$99 each since the combo kit is $199.

With what? The ratchet? No, power ratchets and anything powered that’s not an IMPACTING mechanism is not meant to break anything loose. You break it loose by just using it as a ratchet then spin it off way faster by pulling the trigger.

Ever think about what a 1200 ft lb gun would do to you if it didn’t impact but instead provided constant torque? It would spin YOU in circles. Grab an old Milwaukee Hole Hawg if you want a simulation. ;)

And the 2407 drill is fantastic provided you realize it’s just a 3/8” drill. I’ve posted here recently I just sent mine in for warranty after deburring literally 10’s of thousands of holes. Not exaggerating, I’ve used it in light production work for years.

Cool sounds like a good decision then. Thanks. I am starting rebuild a 5.4 Triton and figured it would speed things up a bit.

Yeah, I'm not sure he realized you can use the power ratchet as an actual ratchet. That's how you are supposed to break things loose. Once it's loose, then you don't have to "ratchet" back and forth, you just push a button.

Nice. If the free batt is 9ah & i see em for about $120 then $480-240=$240 for the saw, excluding tax. Certain other deals I pass up because I already have Fuel impact, drill, sawzall & circ saw, lol.

so, it doesnt look like the tool fits inside the packout case. is that correct?

Sorry, I don't know the answer to that but in the pictures it does not look like the tools fit in the case.

EDIT: Nevermind, I looked at the reviews and one picture clearly shows the drill and charger inside the Packout Case. It appears they actually come packaged inside the case.

Interesting that insert mold has a spot for an XC battery as well.
