It's a 7/16 hex drive impact wrench.. it's basically a de-tuned version of the 1/2" high torque with a different drive up front.

Think 1/4" impact driver on steroids and growth hormone..
And that square drive on the end of the socket adapter is not 1/2".. it's something weird like 5/8. You can't put a regular socket on that adapter, only that flip socket. It's actually square, and then round past the square part. Part of the socket drive and retention design. but you can get, and I have, a 7/16 hex to 1/2" square adapters that have ball or pin detents. So you can use the gun (without all that **** I have in front of it obviously) like a regular impact, it's just not as strong as the 1/2 high torque.

I ASSUME it's tuned down to prolong tool life, since this will run sustained impacts for a lot longer periods of time, and also not strong enough to break whatever the smaller bolt size is that uses the 3/4" square nuts.

And is that what they call an anvil head on the hex ?

2 weeks ago my buddy at the Motorcycle shop was having fits trying to grease his dump body plow truck before a big snowstorm and for some crazy reason 2 grease guns he had just weren't cutting it and we started talking about the cordless ones.

He said someone he knew told him that they sucked at least one this person got at the TSC store Lincoln maybe? Don't really know what they do sell never much looked. Can hardly stand to go in there most times. I do get grease there though sometimes

So I took the M12 grease gun I use for my tractor/loader to the shop today to show him and we greased the dump. 2446-21 kit

He really liked the ease of it and I think he is sold on it. I mentioned the M18 version has more features but the longer hose was about all he was interested in though.

I have to find the best price. I think I paid $154 for a -21 kit (was a while ago definitely more than a year) but I think I can get him better than that now. Will need a kit though he has no Milwaukee cordless tools at all.

If you are patient the high torque impact with 2 5.0 batteries and charger is offered with a free m18 grease gun in June or july for about $400.

That is alarming and unfortunate. Without a ton of trees or sidewalks to blow off...being able to quickly blow off light fluffy snow was a big part of why I purchased it.

Yeah, what a drag. Hopefully it's not a design flaw common to all of them. I've used my exchange one a couple of times, it's still fine. Get them to give you a new one, use it the same way, lets see what happens.

Alright guys, I'm in the market for a 3/8" Milwaukee Fuel impact, but I can't decide between the M12 and M18.

I already have the 1/2" High Torque M18 for the big and rusty stuff, I also have the 1st gen 3/8" ratchet and the new 1/4" Fuel ratchet. Plenty of M12 and M18 batteries, so that isn't a factor.

Which would you go with? M12 for its compact size, or M18 for a little extra oomph? I mainly wrench on my personal cars, among other misc. projects. I've had my eye on this impact set, so I need something to spin it.

I have the M12 one. For the compact size and lighter weight. So far I've been very happy with its performance, the only tool I use more is the ¼" hex impact driver.

looking through the thread convinced me I needed to step up my M18 game. I have a fuel grinder, and a brushed m18 sawzall. I added these to my arsenal on my way home from christmas.View media item 78981

Puts me at 4 batteries and two dual chargers. I saw the M12 fuel stuff, and decided to give the stapler a shot. I have been using a pneumatic stapler for insulating my detached garage, but figured a cordless could be handy. Also wanted the smaller drill and driver for lighter duty use, and will eventually add the ratchets and who knows what else. The m12 stuff was supposed to arrive today, but had a shipping delay. I expect it to arrive tomorrow.

Interestingly, the 9.0 battery seems to have revived itself. It works fine and will take a charge now. The 5.0 battery still flashes the first bar rapidly when pressing the button, but it doesn't give an error red/green when putting it on the charger. The charger light is on steady green.

Anyone run into this before? Is there any way to "reset" it?

Hawg users, anyone know of a 7/16 quik lok to 1/4 hex quik lok adapter? So you can use 1/3 hex shank flate spade boring bits? Milwaukee doesnt make it.

Lots of drywall, trim, and door casings in my immediate future so it was time.

ebay offers the best deals. they often seem to be stripped from kits people bought.

check "sold auctions" (check box on the left side of the screen) to see what various sizes are going for.

also, be very careful to make sure you are getting real milwaukee batteries. dont rely on the image, check the manufacturer and the part number listed.

personally, i not think off-brand batteries are as big a deal with the M12 batteries. M18's have electronics in them, so i would be concerned about what i would end up with, but M12's dont . . . . .

I have the good fortune to be driving within 1 km of the service center. I had the bad fortune of there not being an available replacement and it being between Christmas and New Years. But still pretty good service, I dropped it off on Wednesday 27th, they had the replacement Tuesday 2nd.

Ebay is good but check Amazon as well. Sometimes a legit 4ah 12V battery $40-45.

The swag table is awesome. I've got the miter gauge they sell as well and added a foot pedal switch from harbor freight. Just need to find a compatible or make a fixture to make it like a chopsaw

I just got the miter gauge and foot switch also.

Milwaukee makes a chopsaw /adapter stand for that saw.... unfortunately I think it costs as much as the saw itself.

I also have a milwaukee abrasive chop saw... but haven't touched it since getting the bandsaw/swag.

Ratchet collection is complete.....for now.

Interesting the Fuel 1/2 is about 1/4-1/2" longer than the 3/8. Old 3/8 seems higher RPM, gotta look up specs.... Why dont the Fuel ones have multi modes/speeds I was thinking?!?!

Not lazy, efficient Saves a ton of space in portable bags, gives you multiple tools in one, and theyre larger bits unlike some multis that have the small bits that are a pain in the *** to keep up with. Plus, the bits work in the 1/4" impact drivers

i admit this discussion sold me for two ratcheting screwdrivers for 20$.

will fit nicely in the "house bag" with the M12 drill/driver and M12 hex impact.

i will also admit to being one of those people who has specialized tool sets in various places for various uses. the time saved tracking things down is well worth the expense of buying the additional tools (like i need another excuse).
