I couldn't resist and snagged it!
I'll post here once I get it, it will go perfectly with the 59 piece Grey Pneumatic 3/8" Duo Socket master set my lovely bride just got me for Valentine's Day.
Yes, I wanna hear about that thing...

Damn, that's cool. 1,300 in-lbs vs 1,400 on the Fuel 3/8.
Is it as simple as buying the anvil and whatever nose parts and switch? Or is it more involved?
Looking at the parts lists (https://documents.milwaukeetool.com/54-26-2550.pdf & https://documents.milwaukeetool.com/54-26-2490.pdf)
I think you replace #11 and maybe?? just drill out the nose cap to size??? I don't think there is any other parts? EDIT: looks like the shafts/collars are the same diameter and then neck down to what they need to be, maybe no drilling needed.
Maybe some kind of bushing or retainer custom made to keep the anvil from sliding forward to the nose cap? EDIT: Actually, maybe #9 is the only bushing needed b/c it seems the flanges of the #11 anvils are the same thickness.
3/8 anvil is $15ish https://www.ereplacementparts.com/3834-square-anvil-p-1753615.html

If I'm feeling brave...I may break into it, take some pictures and try to figure out what all he did. I will keep you guys updated.
if you do, try to video it as you go. it will make reassembly go easier, and might help understand what he did.
since it was successful, he might post another for sale . . . . .
In hindsight I may have let my excitement get the better of me and I may have overpaid. I did send a message to the seller asking him about the modifications. He said he did it himself, and just swapped in the 3/8" anvil (I'm not sure which part number). He did have to drill out the housing so that it would fit.

Holy smokes...$275?! That's a huge chunk of change!
Milwaukee only makes a few different anvils. Probably wouldn't be too difficult to find out which one it is if you pop the gen 2 apart.
The only thing that I don't like about how the seller did the mod is the hole in the front...looks huge...looks like the impacting mechanism will collect a bunch of b/s in no time.

In other news - My boss has 2 cars starting in NASCAR this season - think he said the Daytona 500 is this weekend if anyone follows that.. they are the newest team in NASCAR.
1) is this your boss the company, or your boss the individual?
2) does "the newest team in NASCAR" have a web site?
I got the gen 2 m12 drill and driver you guys recommended. They are fantastically sized. Thanks fellas.
Technically- "the owner's of my company". It's a small but growing company.. It's two brothers and their friend. The CEO (Mike) I see / talk to everyday. His brother (Matt) isn't in the office much these days, but I see him occasionally. Can tell you this much - they are normal everyday people, live in normal houses, etc.. honestly just good people. I guess it's something they've just dreamed of doing, and are fortunate enough to be able to do now.
Here - http://www.starcomracing.com/
There's not much there.. they only did the last 2 races last season just to learn and help set the car up.. I think they just changed bodies and got better chassis's for this season. I know nothing about NACSAR.. after my interview when they hired me, it was - "do you drink?" No.. "do you like NASCAR?", not really... "well maybe you won't fit in here so well after all"... lol.
Facebook page is probably better

I hope so. I've held off buying the drywall cut out tool as well as the oscillating multi tool for this reason. As soon as I buy the non fuel they'll release the fuel version.Does Milwaukee have any plans for a FUEL version multitool/oscillating in either M18 or M12?
qualifying race on right now fox sports 1

Take one for the team then and buy one![]()
M12 right angle impact - bought.. $89 off eBay..
So how about some thoughts on M12 RedLithium XC vs RedLithium Compact batteries? I know the Ah's are different, but are the XC's worth it? My local HD hasn't budged on XC prices in quite some time, not even sale/promo/etc, so I haven't popped for any. XC's are not in Compact form but I've never used my brushed Gen1 impact or drill in a situation where space is so tight that probably only my old Compact batteries I have would fit.

NEVER buy batteries individually or at all really from home depot. Much much better deals out there

I kind of feel like the only reasonable way to get more batteries is buy them as part of a tool kit. They are silly expensive otherwise it seems...
Amazon, or ebay.. tons of people parting out kits - and then there's these guys that get 100 batteries at a shot from Milwaukee and they wind up online for half retail. I've tried to find out how/where these guys manage to do it, but nobody is talkin.

Is there actually something different about the XD batteries, or is that just Milwaukee's branding for the higher amp hour batteries?
Funny you mention that about your compact blower with a 9.0 battery. I've noticed this too. I never have any issues with the 5.0 but have noticed intermittent start issues with 9.0.The xc batteries "essentially" are the same batteries as any others, just with extended runtimes. However, using the bigger packs will result in a slightly more powerful tool.. as an example - if I throw a 9.0 in my compact blower and just gun the trigger, the blower will immediately stall and shut down. I have to pull the trigger in slowly to allow it to build speed, where if I use a 5.0 instead the blower will operate normally. Impacts will also display more torque as a result of a larger battery.
I think that's about what I paid for mine some time ago on an ACME promo.
In the right applications its a decent little tool especially for driving screws and small ASSEMBLY chores with nuts and bolts...wont really break much loose.
It's too bad you can't lock the head
Honestly they really need to make a impacting ratchet!

I am SERIOUSLY itching to buy one of those Ryobi promo impact wrench kits at hd for $99, for work, just to give it to the warehouse guy.
