i have several now. i understand where you are coming from.

like the other milwaukee tools, the lights are of high quality. while you can get something else for less for literally any of the milwaukee lights, they dont seem to throw as much light, they seem to go thru batteries faster, they dont seem to hold up to dropping as well, and the magnets and such dont seem to hold as well.

and, once you are "properly invested" in batteries, you never need to worry about forgetting to [buy batteries|charge the light|find a place to plug it in].

some are better than others, of course, but if you get the chance to get, say, one of those 2130 (or 2135) lights at the local HD for cheap, give it a try. you might be surprised.

I just acquired the 2130 tower light and have been using it on a bathroom shower door project. I love that thing. It is lightweight and throws lots of light.

Home Depot?

stack of orange buckets in the pic should give it away. :)

I was thinking of picking this saw up on Friday, when Ace has a 15% off your whole purchase, and then HD is matching the Menards 11$ gift card rebate. I think Decan just persuaded me otherwise, as it won't really get much use. It was more to get another 12ah anyway, but I think the 2 I have already will be more than plenty.

$200 for 12AH is crazy when the 9ah is $90-120.
Soon as I see one for $150 or less, I'll get at least one. :headscrat

I would never as well. They are ~$165 on ebay already, so just wait for the next coupon.

I got the Super Sawzall Kit on eBay for $320 with a 20% off coupon. Sold the saw for $210. I probably could have got more as the tool isn't sold bare yet, but you don't get the full advantage of the tool without the 12. So $110 for the battery was perfect to me, plus the large bag, charger, and blade.

Other tool was the chainsaw. Grabbed that from Acme with a 15% off. Which is what the 2nd 12ah battery is for. :bounce:

Explain.. lol.. is this the newer 3head model?

No, the 3 head is model 2135. The 2131 is the upgrade from the 2130, except it has 2500 lumens (vs 2000) and plug-in capable (vs battery only). A good light but not really worth an upgrade for someone who already has a 2130.

I have the 2130 and it gets used a lot. All types of projects around the house, night time grilling/smoking, and I bring it to every cookout with a 9ah or 12ah battery for playing horseshoes or ******** into the night.

I'm planning on getting the M12 version as well, even though I really don't need it.

The 2360-20 3000 lumen Rover LED flood light with free 5.0 battery and charger is $149 at Home Depot right now. How much do you think the light would be after returning the battery and charger?

Not if you already have the 2130, but if you just got the 2130 for $149, and could get the new one for significantly less, I know what I would be doing.

I have the 3-headed unit, and I think I'm going to sell it for the 2131. I prefer the single head design, rather than the 3 heads. Most of the time, they are facing all the same direction, which results in some shadowing that the 2130/2131 does not suffer from.

Only possible if you can get that deal in-store, which I don't believe it is. The only time it works, is when they say you get the item "free' in store, that way it takes the freebie's price off both items. Online it is not possible

If it was possible, and 'A' is the base item, and 'B' is the freebie

new A price = A * (A / (A + B))
new B price = B * (A / (A + B))

i gotta admit, when i was a kid, "corn hole" had a completely different meaning.

you and me, and likely a lot of the people around here. in a perfect world, the M12 tower would allow the top to disconnect, to allow for desktop use. . . should be light enough . . . . .for all values of light (if you saw what i did there).

Retail Costs = $298
-2360 light = $149
---Proportion of total retail cost = 50%
-5.0 battery + charger kit = $149
---Proportion of total retail cost = 50%

Promo bundle cost = $149
-2360 light @ 50% of promo cost = $74.50
-5.0 battery/charger kit @ 50% of promo cost = $74.50

I'm finishing drywall in a room I built in that doesn't have that much light yet, which of the lights would you guys recommend?

I already have the M18 Stick light, but it doesn't help at all in this case...

My recent acquisitions include the M12 3/8 ratchet and the M12 lantern. Something I got lately included a packout case. I keep the drills and drivers together in totes but these tools are orphans so they get to live in the packout.

They fit pretty well but I made a divider to support the ratchet. Just a piece of scrap pegboard attached to a furring strip.

The packout keeps them safe and the bright Milwaukee red means that they are easy to find when I go searching.

Go to homedepot and get the 2131-20 stand light with free 5.0 battery for $199 right now. The register will take the $129 battery off both items, resulting in the light being significantly cheaper (you can return the battery if you want). I have the 2135 (multi-head stand light) and wouldn't use it for wall finishing as you get shadowing due to the 3 heads instead of 1.

Nicely done.

Question about the lantern: will it stand on a desk with the compact or 2.0 battery, or is it hang only?

Thanks, I couldn't tell if that deal was on-line only or also in store. I might be heading that way later this evening to pick it up. Thanks!!

Yes it will. Great device for camping or when the power goes out. Plenty of directional or omni-directional light, plus USB charger. I sort of regret selling my M18 version, but no way I'd get rid of the M12.

It is a great lantern that will sit upright since the battery is in the bottom end. Also accommodates the larger batteries. But the reason I got it was that it includes a USB charger so I can use my M12 batteries to charge my iPhone during extended hurricane power outages.

How much of a size difference is there between the M12 and M18 lanterns? I'm looking at getting one of them. I already have a Rocket stand light for area light and a M18 search light, so more brightness would not be a major concern with the lantern. The lantern would be for taking the dog out at night, or maybe playing cards at night by the firepit, and whoever needs to charge their phone can. I have an equal fleet of batteries in both 12 and 18.

Although I now own quite a collection of M-18 tools, I am thinking about a M-12 compact inflator to carry in the RV. Any thoughts on these from you guys ?

Great little unit, that works quieter than I expected. Sort of wish it was a high & low volume pump, but obviously would increase the size, but Ryobi does make one. Which reminds me, I should order another couple Milwaukee -> Ryobi adapters on eBay tonight. I end up selling them to people on the spot when they see it.

Not a huge difference, but enough. The M12 is tosses into a bag so much easier. Originally when there were a lot less light options, we used the lantern when hunting. Didn't really need any more light, and w/ battery was considerably lighter, so I chose the M12 over the M18. For walking the dog I'd go M12 for sure, playing cards maybe. The only problem with that scenario is each card player ideally has a light behind them. I say build a bigger fire in that case.

I was just looking at the M18 fan on eBay, and the prices are nothing like a month or two ago. All near $100 now. I haven't noticed a swing like that on any other Milwaukee product

I have been thinking about supplementing my red with some green. There are some things that aren't available in red (18v infiltrator), supposedly the nailers are better, and somethings that arent worth the price difference. I mean can a fan really be twice as good? Please tell me if it is.

Anyway do I bite the bullet and have a seperate battery platform or use adapters. I dont see that the Ryobi Batters are any cheaper than the equivalent M18. How do you guys like the adapters. Also should I buy that one off Ebay or see if dowmace or PLC268 are still willing to print one. The Printed one looks like It has better balance and doesnt face the battery backwards.

The adapter I linked to does not work in all Ryobi tools. It won't work in the higher end blower. I may end up buying one of the printed models to work with those odd ball tools. I know it won't work on the Ryobi backpack sprayer I want to get (at least without removing the cover).

Ryobi batteries aren't priced too bad when you grab them on sale, but having multiple brands isn't the most fun either. I'll always keep a couple Ryobi around, but as of now they don't have a 12ah to run my dog's fan. :bounce:

The fan does't tell the battery how it will stand anymore, now the battery has all the control. lol

Nice...So how many years of runtime do you get out of that?

Im guessing you like that fan and dont have any regrets of not going red on it?

Absolutely love it, and my dog likes it even more (main reason I bought it). I thought the MWK had a whirling sound that I did not care for, that the Ryobi doesn't seem to have. Also the Ryobi can take an extension cord for power, where as the job-site red has a flimsy AC wall-wart.

Add 4"+ to the red, a standard plug & I would grab one in a sweat bead drop. A variable knob would be nice, but at least 3 speeds. Maybe One-Key for the fun of it

Surebonder makes it. available on eBay. $20 each, +$9 shipping. so see if others need them when ordering. them make them for Dewalt & Makita.

As someone else noted, someone else 3D prints adapters as well, and might work with some of the tools the Surebonder doesn't work with. There is a hump that I don't have in my pic that prevents it working with a few of the tools.

Surebonder initially designed the adapters so anyone could use the Ryobi glue gun.
