I still have gift cards laying around so who knows what Milwaukee stuff i might get.. i think the m18 speaker might be a little too ambitious for what u wanna do now.. i mighta rushed into that post without thinking it through... i like the idea of the smaller speaker again - and trying to mount it, instead of the thing just laying around.

Its very annoying when i cant hear Star Trek on Netflix over my phone when I’m sitting in the truck.. lol. I already bought ram mounts for my phone, and the gps.. i may pick up a shorter arm for this one, but i think if itll hang straight down, the weight wont be an issue. We shall see. Best part - itll look like a rear view mirror from outside.. nobody will even realize.

The M18 speaker is way to much speaker for the cab of a truck. It’s more something for a garage or work site.

After posting that, Amazon just delivered the Oontz Angle 3 Ultra BT speaker i ordered. its only $31 on amazon right now. (I have one of the older ones too).. thing is amazing for its size.. i just order another ram mount so i can mount it off the windshield in my work truck. I’m gonna hold off on the big m18 now after actually hearing this, and its a lot smaller, and way better than the little m12’s. I’m blasting Lil Wayne right now.. haha

But ya never know... lol

I use the hexagon speaker in my garage, plenty loud and good sound. A 5.0 M18 battery last me several days to a week depending on how many days I work at home.

Ya I see what your needing here now...I do the same thing with the Monster when watching a DVD on my portable DVD player the speaker ***** (but the player doesn't have BT capability) so I hard wire jack the little Monster speaker to it, makes HUGE difference :D

With the phone or tab ya stream it.

Just as an FYI my Altec Lansing H2O BT speaker has a 1/4 x20 thread insert for post mount. I'm going to bolt it to my Kayak lol!

Well the addiction has finally started after the clerk at HD spent about 20 minutes searching for where in the overhead storage this kit was placed :bounce:

M12 Fuel Hammer Drill/Driver, Impact, charger, 2 batteries and a packout case for $199 out the door in tax free Delaware

attachment.php

Someone on the vcg construction live chat said these are going for $179 now. My HD still has $199 listed.

Yeah, varying HD have them knocked down to $179. Mine are still at 199 as well. The M18 Packout sets are on clearance around me.

Apologies I missed it.

Checking Brickseek they have the M12 Packout price listed as clearance (guessing that means the $179 price) for my local store. Weird.

Sometimes they haven't stickered them yet so if you have someone use their scanner to check it rings up lower. I found a different packout kit that was coming up for $440, but not stickered. Might have been the non fuel version with a bunch of tools. I don't remember.

Nice I was able to get it for $179. $5 off with sign up coupon to offset the NJ taxes a bit.

Exactly - ive been watching “Last Man Standing” with one of my co-workers on his portable DVD player. I changed his life when i showed him that he could plug the DVD player into the aux input on his trucks radio. The truck i just got doesnt have that though. Ive been using the older Oontz angle i have, but when i saw the newest “small” model for $31 on amazon I figured I’d try it. Didnt get the truck i wanted, but the one i have - has much more comfortable seats - so some entertainment is in order.. i think i can actually buy a second speaker and they will pair with each other if i want stereo sound later.. haha

Today I’m back on the kick of buying a new heated jacket, ya know - cause the ones i already have need some company.

Just got a Milwaukee USB rechargeable flood light and WOW ! This tiny thing easily fits in a pocket and has folding base that incorporates a carabiner clip and two strong magnets for mounting just about any where. It has three brightness settings with the max at 550 lumens.

See how it compares in size to a typical 18V flashlight. It is so bright that it washes out the round yellowish beam from the flashlight when turned on side by side. This little light will be great for working in cabinets, rooms without power, under the hood and many other uses.

I have one of the usb folding lights and two of the usb sticks and like them a lot. I also have a spare battery and charger. And the usb 700 lumens flashlight. Good lights but battery life is short on high. I’d like to get another folding light.

Odd now my M12 rotary tool is working fine again.. Odd... I did the whole turn it on without the battery a few times and it ran at full speed.. then what happened was it acted like the battery was dead and it's been working fine ever since then.

Went looking for this online and saw it for $69 at HD. I almost ordered it before I noticed that there's another SKU for the same price that includes an extra battery plus a standalone charger. Must be a special.

That's a good deal. I originally went to two different HD looking for that light since they showed items in stock. Neither store could locate any and said their counts must be off. So I got mine from the big online retailer in the jungle for $63 (single battery). I'd gladly jump at the package you linked two as that extra battery would be very handy.

Looking for some suggestions/confirmation here.

The work is mainly tightening bolts from M6 to 1" and drilling a few holes in tight spaces. Repetitive work, daily use - the below list once/day for assembly and about half that for disassembly.

8) 1" bolts ~600 ft-lbf
2) 7/8" bolts ~400 ft-lbf
8) 3/4" bolts ~300 ft-lbf
12) 5/8" bolts ~200 ft-lbf
10) 1/2" bolts ~100 ft-lbf
16) 3/8" bolts - tight
3) 5/16" bolts - tight
2) M6 bolts - tight

The torques are very approximate minimums - all the fasteners use crimped lock nuts so you typically run them down until they seat then let the impact rattle for a few seconds, longer on the biggest bolts.

Drill
1) 1/2" hole + 1/8" pilot
3) 3/8" holes + 1/8" pilot
2) 5/16" holes + 1/8" pilot

Shop is currently using all Snap-On tools

1) PT850 1/2" pneumatic impact (for 1/2" and larger)
2) CT8810A 18v cordless impact wrenches (for 3/8" and smaller)
1) CDR8815DB 1/2" 18v cordless drill

The biggest thing that I want to try and improve on is the inefficiency of having to use the 1/2" pneumatic impact on the majority of the bolts, dragging the air hose from one side of the vehicle to the other and back/forth. The other is the drill doesn't really fit in a couple of the spots causing the hole to have to be drilled at a slight angle.

Here's my proposal

1) Milwaukee 2767 or 2863 High Torque M18 with HO6.0 battery
1) Milwaukee 2852 Mid Torque M18 with HO6.0 battery
1) Milwaukee 2503 1/2" drill M12 with 3.0 battery

Might still need to use the pneumatic impact on the 1" bolts, but can probably use cordless for everything else and/or use both if there are multiple people working on the same vehicle without having to wait.

There is not room for the big 1" drive (the pneumatic barely fits with an 1-1/2" socket length wise.) The length of the 2767 is 1.19" longer than the PT850 but can go with a shallow socket instead of a deep to make up the length difference.

Thoughts/opinions/comments/suggestions welcome...

Got to use the 2767 M18 High Torque 1/2" drive impact this weekend in place of the Snap-On PT850 pneumatic impact. I wasn't sure the M18 would keep up, but it did no problem. Was nice not having to drag the air hose around everywhere.

There were only 3 bolts that I couldn't get access to with the same sockets as the pneumatic version so will have to get some standard depth ones instead of deep wells. The extra length of the 2767 made it too long to fit.

A single 9.0 batter won't quite get through a full day - ends up about 8 bolts short so could go with a pair of 6.0's or just charge the 9.0 during gaps in the work.

Simple test - The largest bolts are 1" and get torqued to 600 ft-lbf. I assembled everything with the 2767, marked the bolts then used the PT850 and let it hammer for 10+ seconds on each bolt and none of the bolts moved. I was pretty impressed especially since the shop runs 200 psi air and the hoses/connectors are all full size 3/8" full flow.

I really like the "Mode 4" feature where it slows down once the bolt breaks free. It took a few runs to get used to it, but it is really nice to keep things from flying off like happens with the pneumatic impact.

Only downside is the size/weight is noticeably more, but not having to futz with the hose all the time is worth it. Oh, and the LED light down by the battery is a horrible idea. If you want to change modes, when you push the button the light shines right in your eyes - stupid idea Milwaukee.

Think it could break the crank bolt loose on my Land Cruiser?

From all the tests I've seen, yes as long as you have access and use the 9.0 or 12.0 battery for max power. I picked one up as well recently for those axle nuts that tend to bind up over their supposed torque values. I've seen poor reviews on the mid torque so went straight for the big monster.

So I would need the bigger battery to just do one bolt? I think the "kits" I was looking at came with 5.0 batteries. I am considering the switch from yellow to red because I need new tools, mine are real old. So the battery system determines a lot. I would need to be either all yellow or all red.

I'm not sure how the others market their different batteries. Milwaukee and Ryobi is what I keep around. For their brushless tools they market specific batteries for maximum performance. Is it needed for your case, maybe not. I can tell you I got the M18 High Torque with the HD 9.0 battery, Rapid charger, rubber boot, SAE impacts (I have no use for these, but they were in the kit) and free Tshirt for $335 new from the FB group I mentioned in the last few pages. I believe he has a similar kit listed again.

You shouldn't...I think. Milwaukee doesn't do a sufficient job clarifying this. But generally, look at the kit form of the tool. If it comes with a high output battery, you can assume you'll need that to get all the power out of the tool. If it comes with an XC battery, you should be fine skipping on the high output batteries and still having the advertised torque.

It's a private group called "Milwaukee Tool Marketplace" People post deals they find in various places, but the Admin, Bobby Cox, along with a few other regulars post really good deals they have.

Milwaukee is a bit confusing on this and as they update their line it gets more confusing honestly. I believe that right now the High Output batteries are the ones that delivers the most power to the tools. So technically the new XC 8.0 HO is better or at least equivalent to the HD 9.0.

Inside my local Home Depot - heated jackets, heated hoodies, axis jacket, rain shell, hardhat liner, beanies, balaclava, winter insulated cut resistant gloves, level 1 & 3, heated gloves.

I took the beanie and balaclava OUT of my cart so someone else has something to get me for Christmas. And i am DEFINITELY buying the new heated jacket.. way better than that other iron shell (or whatever the fck they called it).. its actually flexible and doesn’t feel like that stiff , noisy ripstop stuff they were using after they got away from the soft shell models. Has a little weight to it, which is good. Feels like theres actually some insulation in there finally.
No idea if this is the same jacket as last year - been out of the loop of the heated stuff for a bit.

I am hopefully getting a big haul if Milwaukee stuff at work in the next few weeks. My guy is on the lamb, haven’t heard from him. He might be on a hunting trip or somethin..

I'm looking for the "baddest" 1/2" Cordless impact

would this be it?

https://www.milwaukeetool.com/Products/Power-Tools/Fastening/Impact-Wrenches/2767-22

It has XC batteries. I'm not familiar with Milwaukee, so this is all new to me here.

That is Milwaukee’s strongest 1/2 drive. Bigger batteries give more runtime at the cost of more weight and bulk but this tool is already a heavy bulky beast. I don’t use mine much. I go fir the 3/8 stubby M12 impact or the 1/2 m18 mid torque first.

That is the Milwaukee kit in a plastic case with two 5.0 batteries, but it will run you $449 at HD. On that group I told you about, Bobby Cox has this deal:

1/2 High Torque 8.0 & Socket set
$299
Las Vegas, Nevada
FREE SHIPPING
Model 2767-20
M18 8.0 high output battery
SAE 9pc impact socket set
FREE T-shirt

Rubber boot is an extra $25 and rapid charger is extra $30. No case, but most people ditch those anyway. Too big and bulky to store anywhere.

I looked over that thread, thanx.

But the High Output
High Demand
Extended Capacity nomenclatures still didn't really get Crystal clear to me though.
