Magnetic tape is fun. Did 2 layers on an m12 charger too.. prepping the work truck for the heated jackets.. :)
Thats the inverter that came with those cable cutters.. we’ll see how long it takes this one to blow a fuse..

The portable hydraulic pump you mean? No I haven’t. We really dont have any use for it. One of the things thats been lost in time - is crimping pulling eyes onto copper cables. Its a RARE thing these days that we even place any copper phone cable. In the very first shop i worked in - there used to be a kit in the shed out back that had all the different sized eyes that could be crimped onto different sized cables with a hand hydraulic pump. Even going back almost 20 years - i can remember us using that kit ONE time - since most of cable that needed it would just be ordered with one from the factory already installed, with air pressure already inside the cable. Those were only used to place underground.

I wonder if their handheld m18 cordless crimpers can do hydraulic lines? Or if they even make the heads to do hydraulic fittings with them.. a power lineman would have more need for crimpers than me, since thats how they join some of their lines.

I’d love to have an excuse to try and get one of those pumps though, but as a telco guy i have no good excuse.

Can someone tell me if there was any changes to the 2019 Milwaukee tough shell jacket?

I tried searching and came up with nothing.

From last year, i dont know. But they seem very different than the first model after they got away from the soft shell a few years ago. I’d imagine with the big push on all the other style of heated jackets, non heated, and jacket layering accessories - that this model of heated jacket would probably be the same as last years. But I’m just guessing.

Someone here definitely bought one from last year. You could always try searching the model numbers on YouTube and seeing when the earliest reviews started getting posted.

All i know is I’m buying a new one this year.
And the non heated hoodie, the beanie, balaclava are on my Christmas list.
Unless they really make it hard with a new model, Milwaukee will have to pry my sandstone carhartt bibs out of my cold dead hands.

I will be very annoyed if the “no days off” non heated hoodie is the same model hoodie they include in the 3in1 heated jacket set - just without the heat.

$239 for M12 extended wratchet,tool only.
My older 2nd gen 3/8 with charger, batteries and case was only $140 I think.Or maybe that was the 3/8 stubby impact?
Man prices went way up.

I am looking at changing out Yellow to Red. Figured Black Friday is the time to do it.

I am looking at the M18 Fuel 7 piece Combo kt, along with the BIG 1/2" Impact and the stubby M12 impacts.

Where is the best place to look to nab these deals?

When the first gen ratchets came out they were $149 bare tool and $239 for a kit. So yes the current pricing of the extended reach bare tool at the old kit price is a bit stupid.

I dunno about the 4.0, but the 2 pack of the bigger 3.0's usually go down to like $79.

If u just need a single battery - eBay is probably the cheapest place you'll find one.

Thanks.

Oh the irony when you strip the screw on your drill. Was removing the belt clips from my M12 hammer drill and impact. Impact belt clip came off without a fuss. The drill on the otherhand......

They used to be torx, dont know why they switched.

I also stripped one of the phillips on the belt clip, had to use mini vise grips to get it out

And they are darn Philips (while most of the other screws are Torx iirc).

Anyone have a comparison of the m18 3/8 fuel impact vs the new 3/8 stubby m12 fuel impact?

2754-20 vs 2554-20

Have both. Started with the M18 then just recently got the stubby. The stubby definitely has more snot than the M18

So I've been thinking about how to use non hd gift cards to order the bare tool heated jacket - and I think my best bet will be to just go to the store, have them order it, pay for it there with 2 different cards - and have it shipped to home.

Before I do this, anyone aware of a promo?
And they ain't making it easy to NOT just go for for the full kit with the pricing.
$159 vs $199
Is it even worth saving $40?

Edit - actually no - it's not worth buying the kit.. the only thing u don't get now is the actual battery, and a 2.0 can be found for almost half the $40 price difference if u need one.
I forgot all these things come with that power source with the charger built in it.

Buy a jacket get something free (2.0) I think starts 11/1. Sales and other promos usually arent till January or February.

Though sometimes the Nov heated promo is different between HD & online retailers. Also promos can differ between jackets, hoodies, etc.

Finally found something that the m18 mid torque couldn’t get off. . Bed bolts in a rusty 95 f150. I welded them up top so they wouldn’t spin. The 2 front bolts the gun had to impact 30-45 seconds and still couldn’t break them. Had to use a breaker bar and used the gun to spin them out. In the guns defense it needed a wobble socket to reach so they took away some power.
