My arthritic joints ache just looking at that picture 😖 I hope you got the boys some hot coffee:coffee:
Yea.. it's brutal out there.. today is clear but cold.
Yes.. the guys were supplied with hot coffee all day,..... by 4 pm they had enough.

As soon as the light comes up I gotta get out and clear snow.....
I have so much respect for these guys.. always a smile and very upbeat.

I was going to use a ships Lap material in the shop office.. but the cost is doubled as compared to a price of finished Ply..... so that's the route. I plan to paint the interior a antique industrial green and the outside of the office shop will be done in reclaimed roofing barn steel.

Awhile back, I had a project where I needed to make some dutch-lap siding. I started with rough cut pine, planed it down, and ran the planks across a dado blade to make shiplap. Then I ran the planks at an angle to get the cove cut. It was really simple and quick once I got the table saw setup, especially if I'd stopped at the the shiplap stage.

I say all this to say, I think it'd be really easy to rip some 3/4" plywood into 8" boards then run it across a dado blade to make shiplap for interior use. You could knock out loads of it in a day. I was tempted to finish the inside of my shed like this, but I opted for OSB due to materials costs. If I were already using finished plywood, I'd have definitely given it a try.

Shop is looking killer. Definitely gonna be following this one. 🍿

Its too darn cold to work outside.
So. moving into the main floor.. the wiring is all pulled and ruffed in...... and now we started skinning the exterior of the "Office"
I will work in there at my trade and then on my cars as well
I bought 100 year old Barn roofing and wanted an old industrial feel.
This coming weekend if I don't have to work..I will begin to prime as many walls as possible.

I can close my eyes and see you growling through that window with a big cigar, reminiscent of Louie De Palma (Taxi)

Great looking shop. Excited to see your updates. The progress that has been made in that weather is unreal.

This is coming together really well! The old windows, the barn roofing... definitely going to be a cool place when it's all finished. True character!

Looks awesome Jeff.

Thanks guys.. Hi Lane!

Yes.I am pretty stoked.

So. the fellas were getting prepped for roof installation tomorrow ... and that is the plan... but Ole Mutha Nature may have different plans.....
they were clearing the roof of snow for most of the day.... and now are applying some trim work ... the porch is enclosed in now too.
Hopefully.... this Blizzard front may pass but the wind is really picking up and it's getting pretty dark out here.
(We are in the RED area)

This winter has been pretty brutal.

More of the same.......
Had our HVAC guy meet this Sunday with the plumber.... discussed vent size.. going with a 5 inch pipe throughout the building.. discussed the best areas to run... Already bought the water heater, toilet, sinks and discussed a furnace..... going forced air gas as we ran the pipes in the late fall.

I have this feeling all is going to happen fast and Furiously.

Can't finish the walls yet because the tinwacker has to do the ac/heat piping in the ceiling..... the the tin ceiling can go on in the shop and the office... so..

I can't get over how good looking that old roofing looks....the patina and the old fashioned profile of the metal is perfect. You need an old pickup truck like my girls... patina'd to match. What are you using for a furnace A/C combination? 5" vent for what...HVAC I hope?

Thanks Man!
Yea.I am a pretty ******** hotrod guy..... And the 57 Ford Short wheelbase custom is my ultimate Fav.
Both are FE powered and stick.... one is finished and painted, the other is an OG Paint car..... both born in the Texas Dallas Plant.

They will slide into each bay with room to work on.

Yes. going with HVAC.. the brand of furnace hasn't been decided on yet. and to be honest.. My HVAC guy Squeek (Everyone has a nick name around here) is completely in charge of picking the brand. We are going with 5 inch vents and pipes....2 runs in the office and 4 in the shop.I truly hope I can zone the 2 different area.... Learning all about this as I go.

Mother Nature did hit us and will today again.... I need to clear about 6-7 inches this morning ... and were suppose to get hit again today.... so battling snow is constant.....
we haven't even hit February yet.... ugh.

The pic is from my old shop just before we vacated it and moved here....

I am not up on current trends for HVAC but https://www.arzelzoning.com/ is supposed to be pretty good.Maybe look at these guys also https://zoningsupply.com/?srsltid=AfmBOoqt4DAXzUm0b9_t89qdD0EvZJ9Gc-wKW9j5195sEfo6FYRaXk3E This forum might shed some light on the situation https://hvac-talk.com/vbb/threads/2...residential-use/page2?p=15972851#post15972851
Very interesting and helpful.....Thank you!!!!
I will definitely look into those 3 links.

No roof work today.. weather is still bad and although the second front passed and dumped about 8 inches here.. another Alberta Clipper is forecasted for today.
I was out at 5 am clearing snow and finished up around 8 am.
Kinda futile because I will be out again...... ugh.

Grabbed a couple of doors cheap locally... one from an old Farm house.... I will use that to the mechanical room and frost the glass for privacy when one uses the washroom. The other is just a French door for the office door into the shop.... I am prepping both now and will hang within the next 2 weeks.58.jpg
