Needed a way to keep the mattress from sliding away from the headboard. Looking in stock pile I found one side of a bed rail and a rectangular tube from a coffee table. The short sides of the tube were cut off with a band saw and riveted to holes in the bed frame. Tied down straps will be used to attach to head board.

Got the drill stand done: all reclaimed lumber, painted the shelves, used oil for the bare wood... I use used oil as a tribute to my Dad. We "painted" all of the livestock trailer floors, fence posts and fencing with it. It is amazing how long a wood trailer floor will last after getting peed and pooped on with this simple treatment!

I'm not sure I'm following the logic here...? Copymutt gets a year out of using foam ear plugs, and mv213 gets a few weeks using wire nuts, so larry' is going to go with the wire nuts?

Well regardless, Copymutt, more info needed: Do you pinch the small end of the foam plug and insert it into the hole at the tip of the caulk tube; or do you drill a small hole at the fat end of the ear plug and then place it over the end of the tip like a cap?

Just roll the ear plug as for normal use and twist it into the tube. Expands and seals the nozzle. I’ve tried everything else from duck tape to wire nuts. The ear plugs lock out the air so caulk doesn’t cure.

Vinyl screw protectors work really well for sealing opened tubes of caulk.

Just finished a scrap storage cart, made out of scraps, of course. I accidently backed over a cheap Harbor Freight mover's dolly with the tractor - apparently over the weight limit for the dolly! I sawed of the longer dimension boards, took off the carpet, and stapled the remainder to the bottom of the cart.

I'm amazed at how much it holds - really cleaned up a pretty big hassle in my shop....

Poor thing finally past it's reliability / purpose;
Wish it was easier to get the blue off because my welders would look horrible on their.
Scissor lift, Tilt, Leg lift, may go back on

Di-Acro makes a big deal in their manual about anchoring that brake to the floor. If your bending anything but light material you'll be chasing it around the shop. If nothing else strap it to the wall like you would do with a tall bookcase.

That's nice; Had 6 in a fleet, Loved to hammer on them but hatted the leak's
Had one making a weird noise under warranty, local service guy hammered on it 1/2 mile away, one of two grenade d, it was loud and didn't all come back.

Well the lift worked great, so did the tilt; but I didn't try it here.
Got the blue off, the lower unit swapped out the worn out wheels for a set of Steevo left over's.
Im saving the other shtuff for for something else but ZT May spot the welder that's on a cart now
Still have two tanks to mount

lift reminded me of a funny morning at work, we had a similar tote lift that would lift a tote and tip it over, to assist employees in getting the heavy contents out, night before that piece of equipment didn't get locked up and flipped a co workers car that was left for the night.

You could always use your dog for a table base when he is not walking around on all fours.

Old pressure fuser from a 70’s copier and a little fabrication made a great adjustable grain crusher for barley grain. Capacity is way above the small commercial models.

Welded and test fit

Got it back from powder coat

Now I have a place for everything I need for welding.

I reused an old flywheel and intermediate plate from a dual disc clutch, a cam from a Cummins ISB and some wheels from a horizontal bandsaw to make a stand for a disc grinder.




A friend use to work for billboard company and had salvaged a lot of catwalk. When he got divorced and had to liquidate, it came to my house and I built shelving around the garage with it.





I had a distribution panel that was scratch and dent that did not get used so I built some shelves and turned it into spray paint storage.

I really like that grinder stand, so appropriate for the shop.
Catwalk shelves turned out great, especially with those heavy duty supports.
Also noticed your workbench appears to have a hitch mounted on it.
Can you show us what tools you have that connect to the bench hitch?

The only thing I have now is a mount for a Reed 1C combo vise. I had intentions of building a mount for my JD NotchMaster there, but the only time I've used it in the last 4 years was notching pipe for my daughters swing set a few weeks ago. When I get rolling on the buggy this winter, I'll build one and update in my shop thread.

I moved my battery location to the trunk several years ago but never got around to making a cover for it I liked OR more importantly could manage with my skills and materials on hand that would suit me. I wanted the whole thing pretty neutral. I was replacing old red carpet with new burtex trunk liner. So here is what it looked like before.

So, one day, I just happened to walk by my small HF non-working-condition parts washer and the lite bulb went off, wheels began to turn and I began to envision my much needed battery cover.

The washer had served its purpose and FYI the pump motor had failed after using it for too long with simple green. It corroded out the pump shaft. I pondered the replacement of the pump for a few minutes and then weighed what it would take for me to fabricate something of like material.

Somehow I lost a few pics of my actions with my air cut-off wheel but trust me it happened…and it happened pretty fast.

So here it is, sliced and diced with a light coat of primer.

And now with the added Burtex material of the trunk liner. I'm real happy with the result and still feel like I got great use out of the HF parts washer both before AND after.

But Wait! there's more! haha, I used the switch from the whole deal for my craftsman drill press rebuild. Works like a champ. win win. I can still feel okay about purchasing another parts washer complete and still be ahead,
