I got about 5 shelves cleared off in the conex, need to put some more things away, but I have consolidated and made a decent auction pile.

Sorry, I have to ask... do you have a single Lista box with all their drawers actually IN the cabinet?... That would drive me freaking bonkers... (missing the top drawer)

I used all the extra top drawers to make one box with all wide drawers, it isn’t too bad, I can put really tall things in the top small drawers, almost like a slide out shelf.

I think the dodge will probably look decent riding on 40 inch tires, much bigger and I think the rear wheel arch will look wrong.

I loaded the burb to the gills, it is funny how hard it can be to decide to let go, but once the stuff is loaded, I am like bye Felicia.

Going to get the trailer loaded too, then try and load the other burb. I have a small window before my surgery on Tuesday.

I took the new kid to one of our towers today, he is very comfortable on the tower, so I think he will work our well. I am training him to go work for another company, but I will be using him probably through November, lots of stupid little tower things to do on our towers. I took a picture of my boot and one of a far off Mt Washington.

That was only 180’ I go much higher.

Got the other burb loaded, cleaned up a bit more of the mess outside, my brother stopped by and decided he wanted something I was taking to the auction, so we loaded it in his truck, fine with me, it is gone!

Here are the pictures of the M37

I am not sure what the plans are yet, I need to do some research on the axles, they may be tough enough that I can use them, I have a transfer case doubler so I can get crazy low gears, I do want to modernize it somewhat. I think a 4 banger cummins might be a good choice. I want to be able to go off-road with it, so not a show piece or trailer queen. I have time to do the research, the F-700 will most likely get started first.

It is in very good condition, I was surprised how little rust there was being that it was a New England truck. They said it had been I. Storage since the 1970s, then it has spent two winters outside, but not driven.

I got two loads to the auction, will try and get some more over either this afternoon or tomorrow morning before my surgery.

We moved the rest of the tower sections today, luckily there was enough room to move them sideways, only needed 26’. Crane is scheduled for Friday rain or shine.

I can’t agree more, my Dad is getting so forgetful and even confused, it is scary. This morning he ripped the door off one of the 5 ton military trucks while trying to jump start it with the other one. He can’t remember the long conversation we had on Friday and he is confused as to how the tower goes together. I am not looking forward to the future, I think it is going to get much worse. He won’t back off and essentially makes messes that need to be undone daily.

At least he is still somewhat able to help. My dad is struggling with brain cancer and doesn't do anything.

Strouty I'm by no means an expert but your Dad's symptoms could be being caused by something else. Might be a good time to get him in for a thorough check up.

A story that was wisely suppressed. A acquaintance of mine’s dad breached a well known military base with his truck running the slow posted speed limit and drove deep into the facility with soldiers attempting to stop him. Caught them totally off guard because he just drove through and waved. They gave chase and actually climbed into his moving truck through the passenger door from the truck bed. When they got him stopped, he had no idea where he was. The guy got called to come get his dad, and was told that he was lucky he was not shot. The soldiers must have realized that he was just some lost old dude. **** hit the fan on that one.

He had a week long hospital stay in April due to sepsis from complications of his prostate surgery in February. Doctors said that short term memory could be degraded and this is essentially the issue. His wife is an RN, she is aware of what is going on, but it sounds like there is not much we can do about it, he is fine for the day, but you have to plan on him changing things the next day that were already decided. It does worry me, some of our business deals have been going south due to these issues, he won't admit it is an issue and won't let me handle things.

Good luck with your dad.

I've worked with and for mine. Even without memory problems it's difficult.

180 plus feet? Only if it were horizontal laying on the ground.

I don’t climb as much as I used to, but I have had to change the light bulbs on a 1600 foot tower in the dark several times. Very awesome experience when you are up that high to watch the sunrise.

Here we are at 1500 feet, the TV antenna (stick) is another 100 plus feet tall, the light is on top of that.

Here is a TV antenna from another tower.

I have been climbing since I was really young, my Dad has been at it since the 1960s.

I think my dad said it best...” I don’t have a fear of heights... I have a fear of falling from heights!”

I don't have a fear of heights, I have a fear of getting vertigo when I'm up really high and relatively unprotected from falling.

Where do they put the elevators on those things? :lol_hitti

WRT the Suburban and M37 projects, I think I would do what you're considering and find a good, driving 'Burban, then let the other one (two?) go so you can focus on the F700 and M37.

Well, the surgery was a success, but man they took a big chunk, lost part of my eyebrow and will have a rather large cross shaped scar that goes into my eyelid and up my forehead. When I saw the damage, all I could think was “baby ruth” from the goonies.

Not an actual picture of "Baby Ruth" … but had this one and figured... it fit.

Glad the surgery is done. They tend to heal really well on the face... for some reason... you have to be really ugly to begin with for the scar to look screwed up.
