Good progress over the last weeks Strouty, every little bit helps!
Thinning the project herd is a good idea, stops you waisting time pondering about which project to attack first. Was told by my dad to start each days with a couple of easy wins, then attack the more difficult/time consuming ones and eat those elephants one little bit at a time.

I am beat right now, I have a bit more to do in the office, then I am headed home, I want to be asleep by 10, I have help tomorrow and it is going to be an early start and most likely a long, painful day.

Last of the auction stuff has been delivered. Glad that is over.

Made another deal with my Cousin’s work place, this time I bought a 40’ high cube Conex, it will be headed to the Hill so I can store things in there allowing me to get space back so I can work on some important projects. There may also be an air compressor and some other things coming home too.

Definitely to clear things out, now that the Lista wall is slightly on hold ;) having that extra space would be awesome. I can always use more floor space.

To be fair, it has a couple of leaks, the bottoms of the doors aren’t perfect, but it is still worth more than double what I will have into it.

Got the FL-106 out of the Salvage Garage, next will be to remove the transmission and front axle, then make new legs, that way it is all together and the engine can still even be run if needed.

Only when someone else hands over the mean green, otherwise it is a perceived value and damn in My 70 years on god's green earth I have been wrong before ! Just a thought.

Fixing a Conex is about the easiest thing to do, just weld up the holes. I definitely can’t build 320 square feet of space for that money, plus I can take it with me if I decide it is better suited at the Salvage Garage. As for perceived value, I can put an actual number on these, they sell them everyday. The last one I bought was $3600 delivered.

I found some wild dandelion greens that had sprouted, Chuck ate those, we had smoothie time, then play time, now I am getting my actual day started. I think I am going to haul some things over to the Salvage Garage, I would like to try and get things all prepped so that putting up the lights will be easy on Tuesday, at least the FL-106 is out of the way and there is a lot more floor space to move things around. I would really like to get some things organized, yesterday was a pain because the tools were all scattered. Probably wasted over an hour just searching for tools. :(

That little piece of (inside) real estate has been occupied for a long time. Nice!

It has celebrated multiple birthdays in there, that is for sure. I just got to the SG, have to unload the stuff that came from the Hill. The little dump trailer will be freed up for a scrap run, I was tripping over some stuff the other day and then there are some things I would like to get gone before Dad gets back.

Yesterday I slammed my elbow (yup, the bad one) and it is pretty stiff today, so I am going to try and take it easy. Tomorrow I have to deal with some computer stuff for the office, of course there will be a bunch of BS that I have to get out of the way just to get to the computers. I hope to have a pretty good dent in my to do list over the next week, even with all the other things going on.

You need a tool cart, to tow around behind you. Back when I had to deal with several jobs in a much larger space, I would pull a cart with a big trough on the top, that I'd toss the tools in as I went. No wondering what job they were at, they were with me, or in my big box.
It was funny you said this, yesterday I took delivery of a tool cart, just didn’t have enough room to bring it to the SG with the auction stuff. It isn’t an outdoor cart, I will eventually have one more like a “pit cart” that I can actually wheel out front or out back. For now this will at least help with the inside mess. I suspect that once I make my outdoor cart, this new cart will end up back at the Hill. I also brought both of the Kennedy A-Frame tool boards over, they need a bit of mods to make them work for me, for now, I will just slap them together to get some tools out of the way.

I think that it is Murthy’s law with this forum, there are so many people that I would love to help out, but they are all way far away, or they are close and just get err done types like Jackstand. ;)

I have reloaded the Salvage Garage with some forklift battery chargers, got to take off what I am saving, then the rest is going to scrap.

The Hyster made it around back, there were a couple greasy spots next to Bev, but last year I would not have dared to even go past Bev.

This is the tool cart, it has a sliding/flip up lid with a side table. My Buddy that helps me out decided to sell it and he knew I liked it, match made in salvage.

I am done, there is going to be a good tote worth of random heat sinks and parts that I pulled out, much better than six chargers hanging around. Also one charger has a lifting eye and fork base, I think it will work very well to use for my rotary phase converter idler motor and if not, it will become scrap too. I haven’t priced them out in a long time, bet it is pretty low, but at least it is better than light iron.

I have a lot of stuff to process for the scrap yard, I don’t think it will be this week, but maybe next weekend I can get everything done, would be nice to have it all gone and have some cash instead.

I found a hydraulic shop press at the auction that I would like to try and acquire, it is a hand pump style 50 ton and the frame looks pretty straight, usually when they hit the auction, the frame spells something in cursive.

I am currently moving the rest of Chuck’s old cage and supplies out of the my house, there are three cages that I have to list on marketplace, they won’t bring much but having the space will be great.

This part has baffled me for years. how can prices of literally EVERYTHING to do with steel skyrocket for years and scrap goes nowhere? We know it's mostly recycled.

People want the Steel more than the Scrap they have; therefore they are allowing the scrap dealers to tell us how much they are willing to pay for it.

If you want to see the price for scrap increase, don't sell your scrap until the buyers will meet your price; that might take a very long time.

And meanwhile i'm sitting on a mountain of scrap.

Honest question. You have 3 weeks to get moved into the office and you just spent at least a day acquiring battery chargers and tearing them apart, meanwhile irritating your existing injury, just to make 2 piles that need dealt with. Why waste the time? Was the scrap value of them life changing enough that it was worth time you already don't have enough of?

I only have two weeks, but in reality it will be about 5 days that I actually will be able to work on the office project. As for why do this now? I can't really answer that, I was tripping over things and I had to move them anyways, so I thought it would make sense to get it done. Sometimes I just do something like that just to feel like I accomplished something, could I have chosen more wisely, probably, but in the end it felt good to get something off my mental to do list that didn't take much in the brains department. I am doing a bit of paperwork now, I am sore from yesterday, but not too bad. In one way, you could call what I did a test, I have to climb a tower (460') on Wednesday, I am expecting that to be a real problem, won't know until I get climbing.

Tomorrow morning I have PT, then I have to go and get a boat, that will waste a good three hours, assuming the lights actually work.
