Remember "Now the hard part begins"? Second time around is much harder, with smaller results.
I think this is much more than the second time around, but I see your point, things get exponentially harder to get rid of after you have all ready sorted and purged.
Parts to dead cars go in the dead car.
The problem is that the car is not really dead yet, will still drive until it is dead or I fix it. Reverse is very weak, but on flat ground it is not too bad. I think the worst part is the A/C not working.
If things leaving the shop have value, find something in the storage units that doesn't and swap. I had to get rid of two engines and a transmission to make room for van parts. Haven't missed them at all.
This is kind of what I did last night before I left. I dug out several bins that have things that can go, I even brought the dumpster to the storage boxes for easy access.
Comparing yourself to Bill doesn't hold water, he has never sold anything to gain cash, he doesn't understand the concept of selling something you don't need in order to buy something you do.
We have similarities, he places value on things that I wouldn't value, but I am positive I could find things that have no value to most people that would be really hard to get me to let go of. The hard part is I see the same ideas, I have this dream of how my shop will be and he has a dream about how things will be in his. We both probably spend more time thinking about things than doing and that is the biggest issue, at least for me.
The shop looks better everyday, you must be doing something right.
Thanks
I can't help you with the decision to enlarge your office 4x. That is a personal decision that I cannot understand, I would never give up shop space for office space.
The office would be in the dead space above the new stockroom, so it would not waste any space it would gain me lots of space. My current office would become the kitchen/lunchroom and I would open up the area above it to allow for pallet storage, it looks great in my mind.
