On your dad/employee thing : You are far nicer than i am. Who owns the company? The employee? Right. Sometimes owning a company is tough. Sounds like you're overdue for the reckoning.

My prayers to you.

Man, you have a lot going on with all of this on top of your 'normal' life/work. Good luck getting through it and taking care of everything. Don't forget about yourself during all of this.

Reckoning is coming this week for the employee and company.

Why does the Blondie song Rapture come to mind?

water temp is 56 down here Blackfish are biting most others are chasing schools of baitfish or heading south.

Got the New England Masters Ski racing schedule the word that you fear is coming.
Flakes reported at Watkins Glen...

Reckoning is coming this week for the employee and company.

I'm not good with ambiguity, and can not tolerate interference in family matters by outsiders. I know your situation is complicated and you can only do so much, but I think bringing it to a head sooner rather then later is better. But that is just me, that approach is not always the best for everyone, but its the best for me.

Good luck, I hope it turns out OK between you and your dad. I think you're doing the right thing with the reckoning because its coming sooner or later regardless of everyone's current wishes. -Ed

I have a feeling the employee is not going to be happy about anything, whatever, if he quits, it would probably be the best thing that happened. I doubt he will as I don't think he is the type to start his own business, he would have done it by now, he likes to get paid and at 4:00 not answer his phone (that we pay for) until 8AM the next day.

Got all the trees down, about half the stumps removed, now there is a pile of logs for my Brother to cut up for fire wood (probably 5 cords plus), a huge pile of wood chip/sawdust, and a large stump pile. Also a few telephone poles and some cast iron pipes that need to be dealt with.

The Mitsu temp gauge does not work, so no over heating, replaced the hydraulic line and added some more fluid, everything except the batteries is good. I pulled out the batteries tonight and will try and replace them tomorrow, depends on the rain, trying to get stuff taken care of, we may get 3” of snow on Thursday night, right before the temps drop to the 20s. I may have but off more than I can chew, trying to put everything away is going to be tough for sure, might end up with a few snow storms and a mess before things are really where they need to be. Heck, I don’t even have an operational snow plow yet and the snowblower is at the repair shop due to a recall, need to get in touch with them too.

By chance, is the employee’s name Tampa and your dad really likes it when the employee’s ladies bring them lunch.

You guys are killing me. :)

I bought two more trucks today, and had to bring my Dad’s F-250 to the shop. Things are getting really tight for sure. At least there won’t be a plowable snow for a week or so.

Well, you just jinxed yourself. There will be 9 feet of snow by tomorrow.

Two more of the Freightliner carcasses. They are more complete than the other one. Probably getting one delivered on Thursday.

Snow coming to New England for late Thursday and a possible substantial and larger one for next Tuesday into Wednesday.

Not my choice either as I'm still putting a new metal roof on my garage.

I am not concerned about the first snow, but the second one may be trouble, the weather guessers can’t tell until after it is over.

I had set my alarm for 4:30, apparently something happened and the app crapped out. At least I woke up at 5:30 and not 7. I had to reinstall the app and it seems fine now, been using it for several years with no issues, hopefully it won’t happen again. Trying not to waste any daylight, today is supposedly going to be a nice day. I have a bunch more stumps to remove, but they are mostly small ones, should be able to get that done and start parking things in the mud. ;)

Unfortunately for me, I usually end up with permafrost and it is just a mess all winter. That is only for the back forty, the regular yard isn’t really muddy at all.

Right now I am swapping batteries around in trucks, the E-One fire truck seems to have found a way to pull juice from the battery without having the battery grounded. I am trying to add an easy disconnect, but it looks like the only good way will be to disconnect the batteries completely or add two more disconnects for both positive leads.

Today has been pretty nice overall, wind definitely bites a bit, but overall nice. Good luck with the concrete.

I got all the stumps pulled, piles managed, ground as level as I am going to get it, I am no starting to figure out what is going where and that is going to be the "fun" part.

Note to self, don’t use the fork extensions after dark. First, I made them, second, they don’t stay on the forks, third, I made a mess and will have to pick it up tomorrow morning, assuming the old propane knuckle boom will start. I shuffled several things, really started to figure out what is going where, on top of that, it looks like I have another few days of decent weather, minus Thursday afternoon and evening, but looks good through Monday, I’ll take it.

Random pictures from today.

I am bracing for the cold. Should be ready, only real question is the boat moving trailer, have someone interested in it, if it doesn’t sell, I will have to stack stuff on it and then put it away, so I am leaving a slot for it, just in case.

You guys are funny.

My shop is a tiny sliver of land, I have one acre, and unfortunately I don’t live anywhere near it. :(

Yeah too bad that house deal fell thru. That would have been a lot of work but very satisfying.
